Allegedly the first ring sold for 20M or something. Given that, unlike our earlier suspicions of the ring being useless, the ring is actually useful for tank roles, I would much rather make the Superior version first. 20M isn't a lot in 2k14; if it's selling for 4-5M as some people in this thread seem to be saying, then it's even worse, it's barely chump change. It's not like PoP batch 1 where some of first people to get tradeable armours were selling them for a couple hundred mil.

The barmaid is of the opinion that I am in dire need of cherrywood. She has been brought to the Shambling Lair for further questioning.

I sent my second trio finale and one pearl voyage. I hace a choice between the trio and two other pearl voyages. Its pretty irritating that it puts me at 99/100 pearl for superior leviathan ring. I'm currently at 89% to the loop.

Been taking terracotta missions instead of my trio because I figure it's worth getting the better merchants faster

Managed to snag a terracotta tip, but I had already sent out my crew for the Architect's smaller resource voyage :( Will check back later.

I've also built two cherry trees for +7% terracotta (and eventually azure). Why not, right?

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

I think I plan on sending my last trio voyage with a TCM rather than with my JM. The last trio voyage gives 50 pearl and 50 koi scale. With a JM and FOTS that is 70 pearl and 70 koi scale. If I use a TCM and FOTS that is 71.665 koi scale and 71.665 pearl. I think ports rounds both up to 72. I'm not sure if waiting for a TCM is justified by earning only 2 pearl and 2 koi scale extra.

Didn't we have that discussion before? about 6 trade goods being rounded to 7.99 and down to 7? Ports has never rounded anything up.

I also managed to get a cotta mission... this time. And yeah, cherry trees are now useful.

First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.

First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.

First to 4664 Port Score on 2. March, 2015.

I knew we did, but i couldnt remember the end results for the life of me. Nor would i dig the depths of the original ports topic!

Well then really TCM isn't really a priority over your final trio voyage then. I mean if you have the JM then just go for it. I don't think its worth bothering to obtain a TCM to earn another 1 pearl and koi scale for the finale.

If there are other good special missions to do instead, I could see it. The story missions only happen once, and they aren't going anywhere; you're not really missing out.

Well the single finales are 12 pearl/12 koi scale, 18 pearl/28 spice and 18 pearl/7 koi scale.

The finale is 50 pearl/50 koi scale.

The wait for 2 extra trade goods isn't worth it, but that's subject to personal opinion.

Edit: I did make sure to use JM on all the single finales though.

Worth what, exactly? If you aren't going to be using those trade goods immediately upon obtaining them, and if you have other missions to send the adventures on anyway, then you lose nothing by waiting.

Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.

Well from my perspective personal use > cashflow. So after I have my superior leviatham ring I plan on selling off as many inferior rings and capes as I can to maximize profit. So to elaborate my question further: is the extra 1 pearl and 1 koi scale worth the wait for a TCM while the market price dwindles down?

Jade merchant + FotS: 50 * 1.3 * 1.1 = 71.5

Terracotta merchant + FotS: 50 * 1.33 * 1.1 = 73.15

You get two extra trade goods of each from using a terracotta merchant.

In addition, they are worth getting for the entire Loop and Shield regions.

I'd just go and do the trio with TCM, also for the extra couple of hundred morale you get that way.

Yeah I'm definitely getting the TCM, but I don't think I'll be waiting on my trio for it.

If your as lucky as me you'll get them in no time. I kept getting them every other day - enough to cover my single finales plus some.

Ok ports update I just completed the second trio voyage. I'm 89% though pincers. I'm hoping I get an adventure reroll tonight.

Edit: the 12000/12000/12000 trio finale looks very grim. I think with the best pincer crew and a JM I could do 59%. Looks like I'll be stocking up on powder kegs, bags of wind and food rations.

The disappointment that comes with falling an adventure voyage for cotta is depressing. Knowing that we are going to be short on it to begin with I'm trying to squeeze in as much as possible. Based on how they scaled this region I'm worried for how hard the last region will be if you don't get everything done.

The multiplication at ports rounds down at every step. I kinda did some extensive research on it about a year ago.

Which leaves me to wonder, will FoTS be the first to be applied, or Terracota Merchants? Because it's the difference between:

[base * 1.1] * 1.33 = [50*1.1]*1.33=55*1.33=73

[base * 1.33] * 1.1 = [50*1.33]*1.1=66*1.1=72

I would think you should board a merchant first before even applying a FOTS anyways. I'm betting it depends what multiplier you apply first... literally meaning if you boarded the merchant first or applied the FOTS first.
