I'm sure he'll only get a passing mention.

So when does that big ass genie get his comeuppance? And subsequent replacement by rack...

Seriousy? At least the genie plays up to a larger portion of the game environment.

Yes, but not one with breasts. That's what the community wants, it seems...

The majority of the community is simple minded and prepubescent. Most of them have issues just trying to simply appreciate game lore, let alone the concept of "fantasy."

Definitely looks like a delay. Especially with the suggestion that he is *now* just getting to it. Probably late March (translation: April).

I wouldn't say that looks like a delay at all.

Lots of feedback from Osbourne for dialogue on a quest simply means tidying up story and lore elements and fixing dialogue is not exactly a mammoth task - it is simply a case of typing it and maybe dropping in an extra menu option or two.

Equally scripting rewards is unlikely to be too big of a task - area unlocks, xp etc are all gonna be simple code elements that already exist. The only thing that could eat some item would be creating a new item.

The real test is if there is lots broken when it hits QA in a week or two.

IMO Solomon is even worse, being shoehorned into the game with a large display right next to the trading center that EVERYONE has to go to.

Yeah it's totally shoe horned in because a trader seeking to sell his ware would in no way shape or form logically want to be near the main market hub of the entire world of Gielinor. Plus half the reason it even exists in-game is because players repeatedly asked for it to have an in-game presence so that it felt more connected to the game and less a tagged on microtransactions'r'us unit.

Besides not EVERYONE has to go to the ge, many diyers have probably never been and the vast majority don't go past that side of the GE anyway.

Glory ammys and edgeville lodestone + agility shortcut lead right in to the northern end, spirit tree lands ya up there too. Heck even if you use redirected varrock tabs you land past it enough to run in to ge without really looking.

Thank you for helping me point out how people unknowingly show their narrow-mindedness when it comes to the opinion versus factual evidence. I know it sounds insulting and it wasn't intended. It goes to show that if someone doesn't like something their mind is pretty well made up no matter what's shown to them. Solomon wasn't shoehorned in, but artfully placed in at a trading hub where various traders meet.

Firstly, just because you tag something with "I know it sounds insulting and it wasn't intended." doesn't make it any less blatantly obvious that that was your intention, given your surrounding commentary.

There is nothing artful about Solomon's placement. Just because you like Solomon's implementation more than you like(d) the Squeal or Treasure Hunter doesn't change the fact that they've decided to give an in-game embodiment to a microtransaction store.

It is in that way I feel that Solomon is somewhat worse than SoF/TH, since Yelps never appeared in-game other than an interface (and the hats, of course, but who's counting those?).

DIY'ers and alternate entrances to the GE are irrelevant to the point that I was making of Solomon's in-game placement at the essential "front door" of the most important trading hub in the game for maximum exposure.

I use SGS plenty, so it's not like I'm [bleep]ing about it itself. I just don't believe placing him as an NPC makes him any more "connected to the game" than any of the other MS and the public setting just comes off to me as whoreish.

JaGEx could easily drop an NPC that sells bonds, or the Treasure Hunter girl somewhere, but that wouldn't make them any more relevant to the larger game or its lore than Solomon is, floating around at the entrance to the Grand Exchange.

I didn't intend to soften the blow, but i did intend to make use of the opportunity of your example. The vast majority on the game community perverts and warps things to meet their own viewpoint.

Even if the physical store is only marginally better connected to the game, I still think it's good. When Yelps arrived one of the criticisms was that it was just some popup, and there wasn't a SOF casino or anything to at least make it somewhat plausible.

I feel like putting in a massive shop shaped like an animal that doesn't exist in the game counts as shoehorning.

Logic would suggest that despite not yet making an experience elephants very much existing in Gielinor and have been mentioned prior to Soloman's store several times.

Archeron is known to have mammoths from the elephant-family.

Shamus from the Lost City quest calls you a 'big elephant' several times indicating knowledge of them. Something further repeated in a postbag from the hedge response from a Leprechaun

The Bowl region has a voyage called 'The Thunderous Mountain Elephant' specifically mentions one being spotted that you could go fight for fame and glory.

Cross that with the fact Gielinorian 'normal' wildlife seems very much in tune with Earth (dogs, cats, ravens, crows, spiders, pigs, cows, sheep, goats, camels, wolves etc.) and it does rather seem like elephants are a Gielinorian fact pre-dating Soloman having a store shaped like one.

Plus with the exotic eastern lands link and Soloman's lavish, show-offy personality (implied by the wording of the newsposts he 'wrote') it'd make sense for him to pick something a bit obscure and rare that the average Gielinorian has not seen before.

DIY'ers and alternate entrances to the GE are irrelevant to the point that I was making of Solomon's in-game placement at the essential "front door" of the most important trading hub in the game for maximum exposure.

This statement is pure nonsense I am afraid. Whilst visually yes it may be at the 'front door' of the Grand Exchange it is highly relevant that this access point is largely un-used. It does not make for 'maximum game exposure' to place it there because the vast majority of players simply do not go through that area. If it was placed for maximum exposure it would've been stuck in the middle of edgeville or right by the underwall tunnel.

If you pin part of your argument on it being 'shoe-horned' in on the basis of it being placed for 'maximum exposure' it is, I am afraid, extremely relevant where the foot traffic of players going to the GE actually is and in this case they are in all the wrong places to support the hypothesis it has been 'shoe-horned' in to a place for maximum exposure as it has been placed in an area that is very rarely traversed by the average player.

As a mammary expert I can tell you there are better alternatives than the RuneScape version. :s

Gotten this from another website.

-Mod Jane and Osborne doing it

-Will elf city contain a GE?
They say for it to be successful it needs one and decanter, confirmed. Loadstone might be a few steps from GE.

-Will elf city have a teleport?
There will be a new spellbook teleport, loadstone of course, teletabs that can be tweaked for the elf clans location, gliders, spirit tree, fairy network.

-Will it have a spirit tree patch? (these questions are all redundant...)
Ya, might be a seren god statue as well

-Will there be cows in the elf city? (ffs)
probably not

-Will there be a good amount of readable books in the grand library? (Robo's question)
They really want to, so yeah they got storied they want to tell. They also want people exploring the city. They're wanting to do it like Bioshock does. They want to reveal all the story; their homeworld, seren and guthix, etc.

-Why did the elves keep the city in lockdown?
In MEp3, not saying in podcast.

-Will there be a graphical rework of the elf lands?
The arts want to rebrush up the layout and graphics. They want to add EoC to underground passage.

-They want to make the city work like a D&D where each hour one city will have the light of seren which will mean that a portion of the city will have better skilling; xp, skilling, etc.

-They want 3 of the 8 clan areas skill areas to be chosen by the players (1 of the current polls).
-They also want there to be personal choices as well, like a personal farm patch or something else depending on your choice, along with community chosen that can change.

-Crystal singing is coming. Might use crafting and construction to make gear. degradable.

-Crystal singing is baked into elf culture, everything they do to make stuff involves singing.

-They want stuff for maxed people. They want guilds, rooms, xp, pets for people that are maxed.

-Stuff we can expect to see in the city:
Existing content convient for players
PoP teleport
Sinkholes teleport
Clan cit teleport
1/4 will fill in the gaps for skills
Elf shattered hearts statue
Fishing that works like Ivy
challenge taskmaster
the more afkable stuff will be in the inner ring, while non-afkable will be outside (like magic trees)

-Hardest thing to overcome?
First city that is and isn't there. Since it requires a GM quest, it's gonna lock some players out of it. They might be using instancing so people who haven't done the quest won't be able to see the city.

-Concept arts working on ideas right now. Want to get all the players to be seeing how development goes along.

-A combat podcast coming soon.

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

As much as I think an elf spell book would be a nice addition and could have some cool possibilities, yeah could not be further from what they said.

Would make for interesting combat magic too if they did ever decide to make it. I'd be thinking like Song/Forest/Crystal/Light maybe as the elements.

Mechanics wise it could kinda be the defensive spellbook in the way ancients are offensive like maybe song would boost your max lp, forest could give a passive healing over time as long as you stay in one spot (eg you are rooted like a tree), crystal could offer extra defence or deflection of some sort and light could maybe be like abyssal demon-esque telejump that move you but evade an incoming attack. Of course this, much like Shields, would benefit greatly from more reasons to be defensive in the end-game regions but I could see these having some usage that could fit in with current tank/voker roles.

I could also seem elf magic, if it existed, taking Lunar's helping style a whole new range: Instead of using it to perform day-to-day tasks it is used to infuse nature to be better. Like maybe there could be enchantments/spells for herbs/potions and fish and ores and trees and farming produce that make the products better or allow for faster/better training via being 'at one' with nature.

Disclaimer: They DID NOT say there would be an elven spellbook and this is pure spitballing day dream ideas of what could be if there was one.

Elf Shattered heart - they already mentioned the idea of rebuilding Seren....inb4 elf shattered heart is a long winded rebuilding of Seren herself and someday is a pre-req to a quest.

I thought they mentioned that Seren wouldn't be linked to the Elf City any more (FAQ). It'd also be pretty beastly if they had a long fixed time requirement as a prerequisite for a quest.
