The harralander tar, turns out (if the RSOF is to be believed) that you need to be on one of the islands.

 

Any island, expect the most obvious one to try (Fairy ring island), should work. 

 

At least the first one south from the magic trees worked for me. 

Could it be that you need to be at the fairy ring for it to work?

There's no separate reward for the Snowboard event other than festive cheer and Agility XP, right?  I feel like I'm missing something.

 

Also the Hobgoblin location (east of Crafting Guild) for the Snow Elemental is a little annoying for skillers.

I always strangely enjoy doing the task sets , even though they're largely pointless trivial tasks theres something worryingly satisfying about gradually ticking off a list.

Whatever happened to the dedicated client they said they had started working on months ago?

Anyone have a guess as to the exp/h snowboarding? I have to wait to get on my desktop because hitting presents with a laptop touchpad is awful.

Managed to get 99.5k exp over the course of my 30 minute aura. 2/3 of that was bonus, so 33k exp, or 66k exp/h base. Not half bad.

 

Test done at level 81 if that makes a difference.

My strategy is to do trick 1, 3, 4 for a total requirement of 83%. Gives me a little more room to make mistakes.

I guess there is no current penalty for spam clicking the screen either. That was quite fun, a little difficult to get close to 100% at first :P.

You can't equip the snowboard outside of the Lumbridge crater so essentially "leveling up" the snowboard is pointless, since you can't wield it anywhere. I know the snowboard is pointless to level in general aside from the Agility xp gained in the process, but you get my point. It's an ok thing to do but the novelty wears off fast.

You can fully level in about 45 minutes or less. I think the novelty lasts about that long :shades:

Managed to finish the task set in a matter of hours ^.~

 

I had to wait for reset for the crystal sandstone rock to respawn, though. And I had to do kiln for another TokHaar-Kal, because I don't have anything to kill ice strykewyrms in Rush of Blood otherwise.

 

Overall, nice and easy task set.

yes, i liked the parts where we had to pay for two more crystal weapon chargings, and then at the elite level they give us another half charged, non attuned crystal weapon to go with that one so that it has a friend to sit with in the bank for the rest of time, hey, y'know what people at the elite task level want, a weapon they stopped using several years ago

 

i would appreciate it if eluned and lady ithell would just be upfront about needing the money instead of claiming it's for research or that it benefits the elven nation

 

maybe they can afford to swap out the damage boost to mourners which is especially useful since we killed all the mourners

Grr, I did a Rush of Blood platinum reward run and reached wave 16 and it hasnt completed the task. Anyone else had this issue?

I think even though the snowboarding event is F2P, since agility is capped at level 5, it's basically useless, unless players really want the snowboard. So basically, this is almost useless for f2p exp wise. On the other hand, when Snowverload was removed, f2p players lost a lot of exp.

 

The snowboarding event seems a bit weird, too. Seems like something thrown together at the last minute. Personally, I think there are enough Holiday events already...there didn't and doesn't need to be any more (this year). In my opinion, Jagex should devote more time to development. Personally, I couldn't give two hoots about holiday events and the only reason why I do them is because of the exp lamps.

 

Also, on a separate note, are the cutscene-like scenes bothering anyone or is it just me? Frankly, I like the regular animations better. The agility course in Prifddinas? That was kind of annoying to use :/.

I got 2 paper and festive foods while on the ramp. Walked over to Santa and people said Snowverload had just been defeated. So it seems that anyone in the crater when Snowverload dies gets the rewards, regardless of whether or not they help.
