giant mole misused for the time being?

this tuesday the giant mole(lv230) was added and i decided i'd pop in and take a look at peoples responses to this new creature. as I arrived I saw a level 100+ soloing the mole with great ease, it sort of gave me the wrong feeling of what jagexs intentions were for the mole. As I delved deaper into the monsters lair I noticed the entire place was swamped with people that could easily solo the beast. Im not sure if im the only one but the way jagex described this monster i thought it was meant to be a boss type monster for low levels, but all the kills keep getting taken by high level people. now i dont oppose to the fact that the high levels get all the kills theyve earned the ability to fight with such prowess, but i still feel that the giant mole is being misused it gives minimum rewards that would be suffiant for a team of level 60's to obtain. im hoping the cave might empty out in the next few weeks, but im also afraid that it could become a high level farmers seed supply. im not sure the exact number of members worlds but theres enough runescape players that theres at least 50 high level farmers per world on at a time. post what you think might happen.

but its not now im worried about im worried that later the mole will just become an easy way for high levels to obtain seeds and that every world might have at least one or two high level farmers there. i should expect it to be crowded for the first few days.

Well, I must have been pretty lucky. I got a yew seed from a nest from the first mole I killed.

i dont understand whats wrong with a easier way to get tree seeds, i mean, have you tried to get farming up with alotments? its not a fun thing to do is it?besides the whole waiting/teleing around. I wish they would give more tree seeds than they already do, i would solo it with magic or something,because sure is a pain to cut 1000's of logs for a single tree seed

The Christmas event is a poor comparison, since there was no reason to do it more than once.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Only way I can see to stop higher level players monopolizing an "easy boss monster", is to have it call in reinforcements against higher levels - a bit like the Al-Kharid guards.

I was lucky, I got a spirit tree seed in my 2nd load of Mahogany logs. I spent the next 2 months getting 80 farming so I could plant it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Actually gave me a Farming goal I would not have attempted for by having that seed.

It was mildly annoying to have gone through over 200 nests (not from mole) and not gotten a single spirit tree, and then having a friend who never had seen a nest before get a spirit tree on her first nest. Oh well, luck of the drop (literally :) ).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm not impressed that Wysin gives out not only nests that are totally empty, but also ones with lame seeds like potato; however, I am neither particularly impressed at how Jagex implemented this whole mole thing, it seems to me like they deliberately wanted to give high combat level Ritalin Rangers a way to get tree seeds, and nothing else.

Chasing a lvl 230 mole around a dungen is far from easy, I would imagine. And for the crappy rewards its been giving... its hardly something anyone, in my opinion, should waste a great amount of time on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would think people would have better chances of getting a tree seed from actually chopping wood then from this. The list needs tweaked if you ask me.

I got a spirit seed from willows, it's given me a goal in farming apart from being able to do rum deal. The mole just seems ot be be badly done to me.

Half the stuff Oergg listed there can be easily thieved from Master Gardeners.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now tell me... what would you rather do... thieve from a farmer that poses absolutely no threat or try killing a lvl 230 moles that is a lot harder in comparison. I would go with the farmer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Not suggesting that the tree seeds be more common, but the allotment seeds to to be the higher tier ones. It makes a huge joke out of a lvl 230 mole.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The point of this mole seemed to be for farming. So if it isn't worthwhile killing, the update becomes totally pointless.

seeds are all about luck. i got a spirit tree on the 2nd ever nest i've goten. i've had a freidn who got thousands of them, and has 99 wcing, and never got one..........

Just so you know, it is possible to get two. I got one out of nest from willow tree like 2 months ago. Then my first trip to mole i had about 19 nests worth of seeds, and lo' and behold, another spirit seed!
