More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]

Featured Replies

[hide]
I just don't understand why some members can't get it through their head that what they consider "useless" and can be just thrown away, can be important to others and is too annoying to have to re-buy every time that you need it. I mean some things like tinderboxes and chisels are cheap enough to keep re-buying, but it's just really an inconvenience to walk out of your way to just pick one up.

Say you're in Draynor cutting willows and you think, "Hey I should train my firemaking!" You go into your bank and remember that you had to chuck it to save some space the other day. So you have to walk all the way to the nearest general store a 5-10 minute roundtrip; time that you could have been training if you had been able to keep that tinderbox.

Also you mentioned buying runes, such as natures, when you want to use them. You have any idea how annoying it is to find someone selling natures? The Grand Exchange it should make things easier, but still as I've said the trip could cost you time that could have been spent more wisely training.

Regarding the random event boxes, he's suggesting that they create the boxes as a way to store the whole sets, taking up only a few spaces instead of the 19.

And much to your dismay, I do work on many different aspects of the game at once and I do use most all of those items you listed.

Regarding the amulets, power amulets ARE NOT as helpful to say magic as a magic amulet is.

"So let's recap" we do need all these items at one time.

As I've said before too, EVERY SINGLE ONE of your arguments have been addressed before, so it's really a waste of your time to try. If you have a new argument we'll be more than happy to hear it and discuss it with you.

Your nature rune arguement contradicted itself. Grand exchange.

If your in draynor, just go to the nearest general store, or better yet, the old man's house.

Power amulet is effective for mage... just don't wear all that other useless junk.

"Regarding the random event boxes, he's suggesting that they create the boxes as a way to store the whole sets, taking up only a few spaces instead of the 19."

What? 10 is more than enough. You won't carry ALL of them, because you CAN'T wear all of them at once. And why carry more than one if you can only wear one set at once?

And tinderboxes are in the WOM's house. Nice.

:boohoo:

"Omg, I just had to drop ALL my holiday items. This is bs. f2p Should have like 6 more rows of bank."

(Another thing I heard today.)

:P

[hide]Ok let's start off again with the nature runes. What I meant was that you if you just kept your nature runes in the bank you wouldn't need to walk all the way to the Grand Exchange, because you'd have them your bank. Also, you'd most likely lose money in the process of constantly buying and selling runes.

It was already addressed about the Wise Old Man's tinderbox. I know I forgot about it, since I hardly ever go there. I was just trying to address a point. The whole time frame (Notice it said FIVE to ten minutes) was regarding what general store you went to. Some might not have thought to go to Lumbrigde and journeyed to Falador. Also with the tele, you can only use that once per 30 minutes, so if you have already used it then you have to walk.

I've checked, the power amulet is effective for a mage, but not quite as effective for a mage as the magic amulet. I don't quite know what you mean by "all that other useless junk," unless you mean the different amulets.

As it's been said before, a lot of us like keeping ALL of our randoms, since they show how long we've been playing, and also because a change of costume can be fun when doing other things. If you do have all of them it is 19 spaces. I know you can't wear them all at once, that would be impossible and stupid, something I am not.

I don't mind giving all my holiday items to Diango. I'm not complaining about that. I'm complaining that with all the items I use most of the time, they can't all fit. Note I only have about two complete random sets and I have about maybe 4 free spaces, when I am wearing my armor. That means when it comes time to put that up, I can't.

EDIT: Remembered you can make armor sets that take up one space. But still when I put up my cape, gloves, amulet, weapon, and any other thing I have in my inventory, there isn't that much.

[/hide]

If you want to get nature runes, you can store them in your bank. This is not a huge interference, because it's a single space. BUT you dont NEED them always. Buying and selling sould not cause a loss of money, if you buy for a low price, or even the same price, then sell them back AT THE SAME PRICE.

Your arguement for the Tinderbox thing is only applicable in 1 city, out of 7 cities. If you were in ANY other city, you would only take about 30 seconds to grab a tinder box. Therefor, the Tinderbox situation is only applicable 1/7 times. If your going to draynor for awhile in advance, KNOWING it was the only city without a store, it would be wise to bring some things you may need, or better yet, go somewhere else. Just because you don't want to go somewhere, doesn't mean they have to add more bank space.

The power amulet is effective for mage, but also for other things as well, therefor serving as an all around amulet. We agree on this as an effecient way to save bank space. By other stuff I meant other armour not needed (that lowers mage attack/defense). End of this part.

Not everybody has ALL 19 random event pieces. Infact, I find it hard to believe more than 1/100 of the people on f2p have 19. If you like keeping all your randoms, and like your bank space, your going to have to make a choice about which you "like" more. There is no need to make jagex grant more bank space because you can't drop a few pieces of random event clothing that you like. Just drop it, get over it.

You should ask yourself, what's more important?

Random event clothing or 3+ more bankspaces?

Just because you (or a few others) choose random event clothing over bank space, doesn't mean that everybody needs more bank space, it simply means you prefer random event clothing. If you want more bank space, it shouldn't be because you don't want to have to drop your random event clothing. Since F2p players don't pay, and can't decide between random event clothing or bank space, why should jagex have to add more bank space?

Well, sorry, i guess i didn't read your post. I believe that jagex is making new ways to improve our bankspace instead of bluntly just giving us more bank space. some p2p don't like the fact that jagex will give f2p's more bank space even though the p2p's get more bank space too. so jagex has to do something that would help us save bankspace but it wouldn't be that obvious.

You have my support. :D

I support this thread, I have all of the random event clothes (excluding the zombie mask)

There are also other inconveinces that F2P has.

Well said.

You don't NEED the extra space, it would just be convenient. Then again F2P players don't pay, so why should Jagex make something more convenient for them?

^In a survey taken, only 17,400 out of 103,000 actually click on the the ads, which is about 17%. So they make more money off of memberships than ads, meaning F2P players really arent a great source of income.

Here's something to think about and why we should get at least something. Members, let alone the whole game, could not survive without F2P. It's impossible. I know for a fact that almost everyone played F2P for a bit before they decided to go to members. The massive slowdown of new people into the game would slow down, because really would you want to pay $5 for a Java-based game you had never played before?

Also, regardless of whatever you may say, the economy is dependent upon F2P. Who usually buys the stuff from a F2P'er like yews? Most of the time it's a member because any F2P'er knows there isn't much you can do with raw materials, especially regarding logs. Also members are paying for there time on the game. I know that there are pure P2P skillers, but really how many out of the whole population is like that. I'd guess a tiny amount. That's because you have to make the time in your game worth it.

Also what is so bad about us getting a small amount of space. Knowing Jagex, if they ever give bankspace to F2P, it will be to ALL players, meaning members would get extra space as well. On top of that they might even get more than what F2P would get.

It's on zybez on runehq, I forget which one.

You can find it if you want.

Note: If you can't find it (I just tried and couldn't) Maybe YOU should make a poll to prove a point.

I agree, we really need more bank space. I am much of a pack rat and don't like to get rid for pointless reasons. The Grand Exchange helps only a little by allowing us to combine sets of armor into boxes but that is only for armor and what happens if you have uneven amounts of armor pieces (4 Rune Full Helms, 2 Rune Plate Bodies, 5 Rune Plate Legs, 1 Rune Weapon). I'm not here to put down this thread, I want to support this as I have so many items, I created a few extra accounts to hold the items I don't need on my main at the moment (Armor, Arrows, Weapons, Cut Diamonds, Body Tiaras, Body Runes, etc.) and also the random event items are killing 8 bank spaces. At least I could destroy the Holiday reward items (expect p-hats, Masks, etc.) and pick them up later at Diango when I need them.

i would also like to help the cause i am sick and tired of the low banks space... i have been f2p for like the 4 years of me playing this game and i think that we DO deserve more bank space. and please PM me when the next rally is, if you are holding any more. id like to come.

soul_crushur.png

I am f2p, I got 2 member items in bank, and even without this GE sets I have enough space. I do not support.

Palas1.png

Id suge, I'd still like you to justify why I'm wrong here.

Many people like some of the random event clothing. They have no choice but to keep it in the bank because there's nowhere else to store them and they take forever to get back. But f2p only has a small fraction of the spaces members does so the bank fills up alot quicker.

Ultimately, more f2p bank space is beneficial to RS as a whole. There's really no reason to be against it. Unless you hate f2p or something.

I am f2p, I got 2 member items in bank, and even without this GE sets I have enough space. I do not support.

If you don't support, why even bother posting? When I had a few members items(when I actually bothered throwing most of my other members items out after membership ended) I was barely able to manage a f2p bank. And that was without random event cloths.

Another reason why more bank space should be added. If Jagex is all anti-rulebreaking...Then if they add more bank space, there will be no reason to mule, and less rule breakers, and Jagex will be happy.

GE is a whole another topic...The sets are nice, if they add a (Plain) mage robe set, or leather set, that'll make it even better.

Congratulations, this idea has been implemented in game! :D

Wow- we actually got more bank space. Not only that we got clan capes, access to the duel arena, Clan Wars, and Bounty Hunter! It looks like Jagex is making some serious changes to their game, and they are thinking of us too.
