lazy_cat
Morons. The stingrays did nothing wrong, only the one which killed steve irwin. Most, if not all the animals that Steve have dealt with were all acting in self defence - pure animal instinct. Anyways. I hope this story isn't true because that is just total nonsense! Just completely absurd! Steve would not have wanted this. :? [EDIT] .: Gallery :. Away :( -cheers all!

indy500fan
if he didn't pull the [bleep]e out of his chest he would of lived So hes going to walk around with a [bleep]e in him for the rest of his life? if you are joking, that wasnt a great joke. if you are being serious, then i feel sorry for you. if you get stabbed with something its better to leave it in and get to a doctor. you can cause a lot more damage pulling it out. this goes for a lot of things, if you stab yourself with a knife (really deep), you arent supposed to pull it out. if you step on a nail and it goes all the way through, you arent supposed to pull it out. this is even worse because the barbs dig in when you pull them out. Kwisatz
People are trying to get revenge on the mystic ninja-rays that were hired by the Tupac 9/11 Gestapo to assasinate Steve Irwin with the same rifle that killed John F. Kennedy while he was in the studio faking the moon landing. People need to get lives, I'm sorry. This makes no sense. If you go to Sea World you can touch rays in the little pools they have of them, they won't kill you. I don't see why they should suffer as a species because of one's self-defense. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. happy123
It wasnt the stingrays fault it whiped him. The stingray was just defending itself. They mean no harm to you if you treat them correctly. The Stingray wasn't sent to kill him or anything like that, it was its instinct. But it is sad to know he died this way, he was doing something he loved at the time, which was good. He wouldn't want this, i think its terrible. weezcake
This shows how stupid humanity is. Steve worked to PROTECT the environment and studied the animals that lived in it. I'm sure destroying and killing stingrays is not what he wanted  Besides, it's not like the stingray was after Steve. Stingrays generally run from any danger and attack only when necessary. :? ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Greatsilverwyrm
Not even that, murdering someone is intentional! This ray didn't mean to harm anyone it was just a reflex. It's more like: "This guy who dedicated his life to saving animals accidently got killed by one. Let's go do the polar opposite of what he dedicated his life to in his honor!" Oh.. wait.. Have you been living in a cave or something? In general those stingrays are harmless, so thats even worse when fans try killing them... Just stupid. michiel2
What kind of idiots would do something like that? What would Steve Irwin say if he ever heard of this? It's good he can't know this.. it's so stupid. At least, I think that.
rft
its unbelievably pathetic. I cant believe that genuine 'fans' would do such a thing. He loved nature and the environment, and people are just doing the exact opposite of everything that he stood for. I'm pretty outraged by this. lazy_cat
Is the number of dead tail-less stringrays up to 10 now? I heard something about 10 dead stringrays on the news today. This is really really sad... Anyways. Some specialists are trying to put aside the idea of "revenge" by speculating that fishermen who caught stringrays accidently are lopping off their tails to prevent themselves from being stung. But it is alittle odd how this issue popped up all of a sudden after Steve's death. Unless, there were no news coverage about it before his death. :-k .: Gallery :. Away :( -cheers all! ixfd64
Yeah, Steve would probably be shaking his head in heaven about this. :\ But I'm not sure whether the news should have published this - it would be likely to encourage even more killings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:BEANS Edit: this guy totally has the wrong spirit: http://www.gateway.ualberta.ca/view.php?aid=6363 ARENAscape: Baratus [AS] max hit: 166 with Moon Battle Hammer ixfd64 [AS] max hit: 116 with (untitled spell #2)

I have this sinking feeling that it's this second category that's a minority... The writer of that article sure fell into the second category and still he thought of himself as a fan. Other people watched him just to see when his luck would finally run out. For these people all his messages of conservation and preserving wildlife would just go unnoticed, they'd just cheer at his antiques. And then, frustrated that their favourite entertainment is no more, start to kill stingrays out of revenge. Sad and pathetic? Of course. But it sort of makes sense, in this world we live in. "Metal isn't about violence or faggy whiny lyrics. It isn't even about who plays the heaviest and fastest. It is about invoking a sense of wonder and magnitude that no other genre can depict." sheepdean
does this mean that the scum who are doing this can be killed by stingrays as revenge? Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. PSOfr33k
It was most likely out of shock that he pulled it out, though...Put yourself in his place. jakerules13
please dont flame if i get the story wrong, im pretty sure this is what happened he was filming underwater and he swam above a stingray and it retaliated in defence. the stingray only attacks for defence usually. Irwin would not want people getting mad at stingrays for what happened. i feel bad that a legend has died, but please answer this honestly: were you really expecting him to live much longer the way he lives his life? i'm not saying anything is wrong with it, i actually live a risky life too. it's like nascar, driving with 40 other race cars inches apart at 200 plus miles an hour and not expecting someone to get injured or worse?
