Massive rush? Raising shark prices?

I hope so, catching sharks is my main money maker.

ooo ditto, even if i am nowhere near a 99 looks like I might be able to make some decent cash out of it :D

I don't think prices of sharks will raise. It would ruin a lot of adventurers.

1K is a good price, I think it will still require 76 fishing and 80 cooking. Even after this update.

When I saw this, I all of the sudden decided to start playing RuneScape more regularly. Now there is actually somthing to look forward to.

And btw guys... 99 range cape ftw? First cape in the game probally to give a range bonus. And I'm definatly looking forward to seeing what the stats for the strength cape is - if it is any better than fire cape (and i imagine it is) it will yet again increase the damage output for 99 str. And then there is the defense cape - probally will be better than firecape in defense, but of course no str or prayer, or attack. And attack will most likely have around 3-5 in all skills (except magic and range, most likely), which is also better than firecape in that regard. Then the mage cape... no doubt will be better than god cape, except it won't give more damage for arena spells (or mabye it will?).

Anyway, I'm really glad Jagex finally decided to listen to their players. It makes me feel better about them. And then they are also introducing somthing else that players have been dying for... wardrobes to stick your outfits to save bankspace. Now all of you people complaining about needing more bankspace will probally be satisfied with the extra room cleared up.

I was allmost about to drop my bow, run to the bank, buy lobs, and start powercooking. I behaved myself, but I'm very exited about the new capes, allthough I can't wear one yet.

I also love this month, looks full of great updates. We'll see. ::'

I wonder what the 99 smithing cape will do since I'm a 99 smith :s

It's not like a stat boost at smithing is going to do me any good unless there's something I could smith at lvl 100+, which is pretty much pointless.

Maybe it won't be a stat boost at all, but access to the ability to make something new like gloves, boots, granite or something new and silly. Or maybe a increase in xp gained per ore/bar? Since it's jagex, we won't know till it's actually here

When I read this the first thing that came to mind was "I have to change my combat training". I'm currently pretty balanced out in combat stats, but with the coming of lvl 99 capes, getting 99 attack or strength asap before leveling any other combat skill could make a significant difference.

I can't imagine what bonusses other capes would give. Most skill have their highest requirement to make something between lvl 80 and 90, far below the the xp amount for lvl 99. I mean I can make bow and arrow at level 85 fletching, what bonus could a lvl 99 cape offer me. Even if it were something like string-x (which is very doubtfull), why would I use it? I already have level 99!

I think it'll depend on how each cape looks. I imagine capes for stuff like 99 fletching or cooking won't look quite as good as ones for 99 slayer or herby, because they're more of an achievement. I'm sure they all might look good though.

A 99 is a 99. Not everyone achieved their cooking level of 99 in a week straight of no life cooking with cook-x, and not everyone with 99 fletching did so on rs2. I really don't think theres a single 99 that is "less worthy" as any other.

So you're telling me that no lifing to 99 cooking with sharks and cook-x is the same as months of slayer tasks? I find that hard to believe.

I agree with you on this capes in skills such as slayer and prayer are going to be more highly regarded than skills such as cooking which are no doubt easier, not easy but easier to achieve 99 in.

I will personally be going for the woodcutting one :D

I NOW HAVE A REASON TO GET 99 MAGIC!!!!! :XD: :D

Sorry for that, but I've read that actual post before about the skill capes, and I can't believe it's comming true! I'm loving this month. However, Cooking and Fletching will not be much of an achievement for anyone to show off with, sorry to be so harsh. :? But so many people will be wearing those capes, it won't be very rare to see them.

I bet the 7 people with every stat 99 are going to have a TON of fun. :)

I like this soon to come update very much. I only have 6 more lvls until 99 wc and I'm gonna push even harder to reach it. I'm so glad my friend suggested this...lucky her, she just got 99 wc yesterday.

most impressive capes...

runecrafting

slayer

slightly less impressive...but still good.

crafting

herblore

smithing

woodcutting

fishing

not impressive

cooking

fletching

Well said! Also add construction to slightly impressive, as it is very costly etc. Agility is also a pretty impressive task to get 99 in. I guess Zezima and other maxed out players won't have enough bank space :ohnoes:

There will be a massive rise in cooking and fletching industries. That means you should go for 99 fishing, woodcutting, and magic. :)

There will also be smaller rises in materials for herblore, firemaking, crafting, construction, farming, smithing, and runecraft.

This update brings a much needed price increase to raw materials. Now how will they increase prices of barrows and treasure trail items?

Personally I will enjoy showing off my fire cape and all quests completed cape :)

They will have the space because in the new POH update it will allow these capes to be stored in your house :D :D :D

So every single 99 cook no-lifed 99 cook, but every single 99 slayer spent months of slayer, not no-lifing at all? :shame:

I do not think Jagex will make any capes "better looking" then any others. A 99 is a 99, no matter what. Does 99 slayer count more towards your overall then 99 cooking? (I'll answer that one for you; No)

If you honestly want to try and argue it further, then bring it up in private. This thread isn't the place.

Yes it actually counts, unless you're a Zzzamorak.
