Here is further proof that Jagex puts some effort into research.

As many of you may know, Monkfish are indeed real fish

There exists an Atlantic monkfish, Lophius americanus, there is also a European version, L. piscatorius, that can be found in northern European waters.

Piscatorius sound familiar to you?

Yup  it is indeed our beloved Piscatoris Fishing Colony, the only place in all of runescape that one can fish monkfish.

They have about 300 employees, more than 200 working for Cs

And what makes you think they don't employ new ones often? :P Hehe

I think the only real original idea Jagex has come up with is Runite Armor. Everything else Jagex has ever come up with is based on something else. Fairy Rings, Runes, Mithril, Herblore, and yes even BARROWS are all based on something from European/Irish/Scandinavian folklore. What else are they going to draw on to create a fantasy based game.

The Barrows a.k.a. "The Hills of Slane".

Edit: Nice find on the Monkfish. I personally would never want to catch something like that!

runite is acctually a color so your only half right

and a cockatrice is origanal either

A cockatrice is a legendary creature, "an ornament in the drama and poetry of the Elizabethans" (Breiner). The cockatrice was invented in the late twelfth century based on a hint in Pliny's Natural History, as a duplicate of the basilisk or regulus, in appearance resembling a giant rooster, with a lizard-like tail. It was supposed to be born from an egg laid by a [rooster][1] and incubated by a toad or serpent. Attempts to identify it with any particular biological species, often of snakes, are fruitless: it is a bogey of the wasteland.

Its reputed magical abilities include turning people to stone or killing them by either looking at themÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ã
