people scared of p mods?

Featured Replies

i don't have a screenie but i was walking through varrock and a mod was talking to his friend, as they walked into the bank the mod spoke and 4 seconds later my chat was flooded with many variations of "please don't mute me!"

so i ask, are people scared of mods now?

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

Step 1: Hound any sort of player for misuse and report them three hundred times.

Step 2: Become a player mod.

Step 3: Abuse your new command.

With the advent of player moderators a lot of immature players do those. I don't blame them (the ones escaping). :-k

People aren't "afraid" of p-mods, only the n00bs are.

I'm not scared, but tend to be a bit nervous around my mod friends. They understand since I know them in rl and tell me to relax. I sometimes accidentaly slip some censored words out that shouldn't be censored and I really hate to get muted...worse than getting banned is what I think.

here is a thread that presents a slightly more balanced view on pmod. you shouldnt be scared of pmods. we arent there to harass players. we get harassed more than we harass. and you shouldnt be muted for anything that gets caught by the filter. i certainly dont. seeing as thats what the filter is there for. you should only be scared if you are really doing something wrong. otherwise, act normal and you will be fine.

Yes! I am mortified by player mods! When they mute you...ahh. It's like dying! They also mute for no reason whatsoever!!!

I don't care what people say 65% of the rs players in f2p (i am guessing thats where it was since this is in f2p section) use Auto-typers so they dont want to be muted cause it sucks!

----Retired Runescape Player 1/13/07-----

The people who are scared of P-Mods are probably breaking the rules in some way and are being defensive.

you obviously have never been banned for 2 weeks because you wouldnt let a mod "have his own spot", they cancelled the ban once i appealed it but still left the blackmarks and he is still a pmod

its the reason i dont go to the guild anymore, i remember w77 used to be pmods only pretty much because people were getting banned left and right

I just treat them like any other player im not doing anything wrong anyway so i have no reason to fear them :D

Just annoying people trying to get attention. :|

Exactly my fear too. At the fishing guild, you are just talking to pass the time, not to offend someone. Then all of a sudden some wannabe player mod is sitting there, listening to the slightly off-color conversation, waiting to gather enough dirt on the offender to report and get one step closer to the player mod status.

I'm not. I kind of like them because they scare the autoers away. According to my friend, the autoers have a system where when the mod speaks, they either switch world or run away :D . My friend is a mod :XD:

I try to be xtra cautious. not even joking around about anything. i say hello to them and try not to goof off. (i do that a lot.) I once got muted for joking around about macroing.

I had a pmod in the mining guild once, didn't realize he was a pmod until he messaged me because I was trying to talk to him. He said he was having some fun, then he spoke in public chat and 4 white dots vanished off the minimap, good times

I don't mind pmods, I don't break the rules and they don't mute me, but I am f2p, so I rarely see them...

picture.php?albumid=328&pictureid=1551

mods can get in trouble for muting because they can....i should know i am a mod....people don't fear us....they ask us stupid questions that they don't understand about...we don't get anything special and we are there to enforce the rules...that is all that pmods do....we don't even have to do anything different...but i personally go out of my way to help friends...such as if they see an autoer or something i will go and take care of it...little things matter...we are not to be feared

end of story :o

well im sorry you had to deal with one of the unfortunate people who got modded, and then a busy cs department. but cases like that are only a example of a small percentage of the mod community.

Stallion4589.png

I don't think normal people is afraided for P mods. But I think alot more scammers are more afraid for them now than before. Why? I don't know.
