The last film/tv program/song to bring you to tears

Featured Replies

Come on, admit it hahah.

Im not moved to tears much. A few times in my life maybe.

But the other day I was watching scrubs, and Dr.Cox's son hangs around with him in the hospital throughout the episode, and they're like best friends together. At the end of the episode JD takes him to his son's funeral, and his son wasn't alive throughout the whole thing, just in Dr.Cox's mind - it explains why he's so sarcastic and bitter, because he lost his son to leukemia and since then he's never been the same person, and shows how happy he was with his son in his life.

The quote in my sig's from it, it's a really good episode. Sat there with tears in my eyes watching it. :)

Yours? :D

I love Scrubs..

I don't remember the last thing I watched/listened to that brought me to tears, but the most emotionally moving movie for me is definitely the Elephant man. God, that movie's sad..

Cool.

Bicentennial man. AI, too.

Haha, I don't know what it is about robots wanting to be human.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

That wasn't his son, that was his brother in law (Brendan Frazier), I believe. I can't watch The Green Mile without sheding a few tears and it was on just yesterday.

I am comfterable enough with my anonymity to admit that the ending to AI felt like my soul was getting torn up.

I've never actually broken out to tears, but the 2 that have come closest (lump in the throat-ish), are Castaway (Wilson!! :( ...Not because it's actually the volleyball that makes you said...It's that feeling of inevitable loss that you can't do anything about). and United 93 (self explanitory).

Last night I thought about making a thread like this, anyway...

I didn't cry but i got a lump in my throat during Castaway (yes the wilson bit).

And i did cry during I Am Sam

I thought he was reincarnated.

Yes, that was his brother-in-law, not son...pretty touching episode. United-93 definitely brought tears to both me and my wife. Also, several parts of Band of Brothers. Specifically, the 1st episode in Bastogne, when the nurse gets killed and the episode with the death camp.

I don't think I've ever actually cried during anything, but I have come close. I almost cried during Casablanca.

Correct, Ben is Jordan's brother.

Excellent episode Futurama, the moment when you realise that he has been dead for half the episode , JD saying, "why do you think we are here?", is so good.

And on a similar note, it was Scrubs last Thursday, episode My Lunch, first showing in England. Dr Cox kills three patients by accident and when the last patient dies and the music comes in... it all gets too much.

That would be it for me as well.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

Hotaru no haka had me almost on the edge of crying, and not just at the end. Throughout the majority of the movie it moved me.

Heh, that was a strangely sad movie, not really what you would expect from Adam Sandler.

Have you seen Spanglish or Punch Drunk Love? He doesn't just do comedies. And he actually is decent in those two.

A Walk To Remember- I was watching that with my friend and she got really upset, and i got a little lump cause im a sympathy crier.

Another older football movie(If im not mistaken its called "Bryan's Song) gave me a lump.

Passion of the Christ: If you've seen it, especially if your Catholic youknow. I got a lump in that too.

Pretty much i never cried but I got some lumps in my throat.

Songs:

Amazing Grace: The only one, and well when its played at funerals it makes everyone sad

Oh my gosh! Air Bud was the last movie I can remember making me cry too! Just that whole scene where the little kid is telling the dog to go away, after they were such good friends, made me tear up (mind you I was 8 or so, but still it would be moving even today).

One song that gets me is "The Scientist" by Coldplay. Not sure why, I think I cried when I listened to it the day I broke up. People always say that song's about death, but I always think of it as being about a breakup or something.
