Come on, flooding and killing the entire world? Harsh dude.

He only did that because he loves us! <3:

For it is the greyness of dusk that reigns.

The time when the living and the dead exist as one.

"For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with wrong," says the LORD of hosts. "So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."

There's more, but I just wanted to throw one example out there.

How about-

Can a God exist.

How about-

We've had a 10^100 topics on that.

Yeah, but it still a good question :D

Yeah well, it gets boring after about 18 continuous threads.

According to Christianity, God is 'all loving,' but I live by that you can't hate without loving. If you loved simply everything, then love wouldn't reeeally exist, because it wouldn't be something special, it would just be a label you give to everyone.

If you never hate, then you have nothing to compare your love to. But this is simply with humans.

I do not think God can hate people specifically but maybe the acts that they do?

For once I'd like a god/religos topic that doesn't feature the flying spaghetti monster. It's getting just a weetsy bit old.

Anyway, at least if you're talking about judeo-christianity, He's all-loving but also quite merciless. You know, tough-love. A God's gotta have His standards, and testing His people is how they meet them.

I was told, and I may be wrong, that humans were created in the body of God. That very well may be emotions too, So I'm thinking that every emotion we feel, God can feel too. :-k

If thats the case then why can't I feel what you feel too?

Remember- Not many people would worship him if he made us exactly like him. So he took off some of our mega powers like feeling others feelings, X ray vision and Ice breath

Technically, he would be biased if he hated.

E.g

"You're not coming into heaven."

"Why not?"

"You said you didn't believe in me when you were 35, you lost faith. Get down to Purgatory until you regain a full understaning of my POWAH!"

I'm no religious man, but I'm sure he doesn't like biased people.

He, she.... Or it. Must have the power to 'hate' if he, she.... or it is so powerful, just manages to not express it. Deep inside, he, she... or it feels hate, but does not let it hit the surface.

An omnipotent being like god should be above such banal concepts as love or hate.

Unless such concepts are not banal, but profound, and that omnipotent being is the source of all love.

Without hate, there is no love.

Actually, I would argue that without love, there is no hate, but that love can exist without hate.

According to Christianity, God is 'all loving,' but I live by that you can't hate without loving. If you loved simply everything, then love wouldn't reeeally exist, because it wouldn't be something special, it would just be a label you give to everyone.

I fail to understand why loving everything makes love any less valuable. I don't see any reason why loving everything makes love less "special." How does this happen?

I'd also like to point out that in Christianity, God does not love everything, but everyone.

The fake Gods humans have thought of, yes, hates (not a question, the Gods we read of exhibit hate, a refelction of their creators. May I point you however to a wise prince, also worshipped, who does not hate, or attempts to go beyond the human hate?

If there is a God, IF it wouldn't, i presume, be anything like us. I dont think "God" would be a describeable entity, and certainly would feel it unlikely to Hate, perhaps though calculating honesty though, as opposed to guilt suppressing pin point kindness as humans exhibit (helping little persistent "in your face" problems, whereas a God might be apathetic [most likely maybe? Hope not?], or care for problems equally, and seemingly for that at times hatefully (really just focusing on bigger problems)
