Wakka's Rune Mining Method

i am working on smith and mining. i have 76 smith. Is there any coal around for making rune bars?

My suggestion would be to mine the ores, bank them, and after you have as many as you want, go to the miners guild and use "Superheat item" to make them all into bars :)

Ya I saw choppermad there training mining and slayer when he didn't have those 99. And I have only seen one guy die few others close.

Good guide, and it can be used by people who are low-leveled, too. Such as on Crandor Island there are 6(or 5, not sure) mith rocks right beside each other, and you can world-switch with that, too. It can probably be used for all of the rocks above iron(because iron and below respawns too fast), just be sure you're in an area where you're not being attacked after you switch.

well world switching is nothing new. People have used it since the beginning of runescape to mine or do various tasks. It is an effective way of gathering slow spawning items though :)

Nice guide, it has a few pieces of information that I hadn't thought of. The main point in this guide is: mining rune at dark beasts is more possible and profitable than you think. Unfortunately, if too many people discover this, the rune rock will become crowded, and the guide will no longer be true.

Anyway, I would like to add that to get more prayer bonus, expecially for low lvls, get the best prayer bonus items including mitre, stole, lvl 99 cape, god book, white knight boot and gloves, etc...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And also that prayer potion is not necessary. If you are nearly running out of prayer. Just tele back to Adrouge, recharge your prayer, walk the way back, and switch world. It helps because you are waiting for 17 min respawn anyway.

How long time did it take you to mine 1k runite ores? I mined 1k runite ores in 5 days, 200 per day, and still got pked of about 120 ores on my way to 1k. And I did mine at the double rocks in lvl 46 Wilderness. With the speed of 200 ores per day, getting pked very often (since I rarely had more then 10 ores in my invent while getting pked, more often less then that) and long walks to the bank, how long do you think it would take me to reach 1k ores at the dark beasts?

Fantastic Guide! Extremely well written and layed-out in an easy to follow setup. Even with the release of this guide, I still believe that that spot will remain just as good as it is. Even with the new onslaught of rune miners knowing about this, alot wont have have the patience to pray against the dark beasts and some may not have the quests done to access it etc.... If I follow what your saying right...that is terrible advice. You wait for the ore to respawn? I could understand that if you were doing high alchemy or something but if your mining for profit, 100% of rune miners switch worlds to find spawns. You dont want to wear a full prayer set because the boots, gloves, and capes dont give high enough prayer bonuses to make a difference. The more items you were on you the less ores you can carry each trip.

I did not mine all of those at once. I mined 100 of them and sold them to my permanent buyer whenever I needed a bit of money. But, if you mined for 5 days straight and the place is still as quiet as it was when I used it, then I'm sure you will get more then 1k in that allotment of time.

jagex making runescape easier and easier... I remember when I had to go to wildy to get some rune ores. now it's so easy, ore prices will drop...

Great guide. Thanks for sharing your secret. By keeping a scratch pad with respawn times, I can mine 100 ores at Heroes in about 4 hrs. The second 100 would take less time since I've already found the spawns, but I've never been able to take the concentration needed for longer than that. :P This method seems like it would be a whole lot less stressful, unless of course it also becomes packed with miners.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One thing I don't understand. Why does wearing more prayer armor (and carrying a d mace, for example) mean less ores? Is there a weight limit in RS that I'm not aware of? If so, what is it?

Because of the full mourners suit. You have to take it with you in order to get to the rock. The more prayer Items you take, more clothing items you have to carry in your inventory. Thats why its good to prioritize what to take. Is it good to take a pair of gloves that only give a +1 or +2 prayer bonus while you could actually hold another ore in that spot? Its only necessary to take the key items.

Hey Wakka when i was mining in this spot i noticed that the dark beast attack me and it is nearly impossible to get the rune ore. Are you supposed to wait a couple of minutes for them to stop being aggressive or do something else?
