people who overly trust people should they get scammed?

Featured Replies

This shows personality, a person is greedy enough/lazy enough to scam and lie to make money on an electronic game that isn't really hard work. :!:

This is Human Nature, and i'm quite disappointed in how we act. :|

But doing it to a friend is just plain wrong, and is completely disgraceful towards many other players.

I think most of the people being scammed are little kids.

They have yet to learn that lesson...

Sole blame goes to the scammer, but you need not pity the scammed since it is a game and everything can be won back.

I'm 17 and I was scammed. Sorry that I have trust in other people.

Feel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat.

You can never really trust anyone.. or at least that's my experience over the past 5 years of playing rs.

Even ppl that I've known since I started playing have scammed me in some way or another and the same goes for most of my real life friends.

There's no real way of knowing who to trust in this ever changing world of lies :boohoo:

yes, they should be scammed. people should not trust other people, and paranoia is a vital asset. They need to be taught that.

was there really a reason for you to bump a month old thread? well anyways, human nature just makes many people value money more than friendship and that can't be changed.

Don't trust anyone with vast amounts of cash/items you aren't willing to lose if you don't know them in real life. All of my real life friends quit rs ages ago but i have 2 really good friends ingame, i would trust em with small amounts of cash/items i can easily get back but not with anything i wasn't willing to lose.

i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined

No one deserves to be scammed, but as jessy said he is partly to blame for trusting someone so readily.

My thoughts exactly, he doesn't deserve it, but it's partly his fault

Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! (give my guide a read :^_^: )

The fact that he only knew him for 2 weeks plays a big part. I could trust about 2-3 people on my friendslist with something heavy on the expensive side, and I don't know them in rl. I think too much faith means you'll lack intelligence in common sense. I'm not saying your friend is an idiot, but if you have faith that someone you've know only 2 weeks, on the internet, will give you your large sum of money back, someone with common sense would call that stupid. I lost $1000 irl to a scammer, it teaches you a lesson about faith and common sense.

ya people to trust is hard to find

i only can trust 3 ppl in rs with my money

I can imagine him being disapointed and sad, but he can't really complain about something that he willingly did to himself...

^Thanks Lil_Atza!

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. ... Smells like...victory.

faith shouldnt be punished but stupidity should be.

your friend, big on faith, a lil lacking in the intelligence department. should have waited a while, of course some people get scammed from friends they known for over 2 years.

Yep, of course there's a point that you should be able to trust people but u have to use common sense...

Thanks Lil_Atza for the sig!

I lost 3m to a fellow tip.iter. (One that I had known for almost a year) He got cleaned at the dual arena and was down on his luck, so I helped him out like any good friend would. Well it turns out he scammed me and others for what I heard was 40m. Meh, he can live with that guilt for his entire life over some stupid game. (And yes, I do try to find the good in people)

people who overly trust people should they get scammed?

No.

No one "deserves" to be scammed. People who say "they are stupid, they deserve it" etc, are closed-minded fools. Only through compassion and kindness that one can hope to achieve greatness. Nothing good ever came from close-mindness and intolerance. There's something called a level of moral, most people will stay crippled at the lvl 4 of morality all their life, and some few will go at the 5 and 6 stages, which are stages of great socialism and humanism. Yes, compassion is truely greatness. I don't see why Im even bothering trying to explain that to mostly lvls 4, since one can only understand concepts that are of their own level of morality. However, people do evolve to higher lvls of morality by being exposed to them, so perhaps I'm saving a couple of souls there, hopefully.

I've trusted a few people with alot of stuff, but it takes quite a bit of time to get up that high

my friend and I started our own mini-fletching business when we were both going for 99, and trusted each other with about 7m there

Eventually, we had known each other for about 2 years and had been clan leaders for about a year together, and I wanted a phat, so he lent me 50m to get green (before i switched to yellow), and in return I had to let him wear it to take a few pics

Most relieving moment of my rs career--when he gave it back

Anyways, none of my friends have scammed me of anything much, except when I lost 300k when I lent money to a rl friend money to buy and merchant santa, and then he got scammed (even came over to my house and showed me all of his accs), but that wasn't too bad

Its not wrong to think people are kind and trust worthy.

But sometimes you have to know when to determine the rats from the mice.

ofcourse they shouldn't get scammed... no one should be scammed!

- Back to casual f2p scaping due to limited time (university and girlfriend <3:) -

In any criminal case IRL, you will usually find that the victim probably could have done something a little more wisely. Like if someone had their car stolen or vandalized, maybe they parked it in a really bad neighborhood and maybe could have chosen somewhere a little safer.

But they don't deserve to be wronged. Same thing in RuneScape. Just because someone trusts someone they barely know does NOT give the other person a justifiable reason to betray that person's trust. The truth is, we'd all like a game where everyone could trust each other, and that's why we sometimes take a chance on someone. People that betray their friends for money are what makes such a level of trust nearly impossible, and we would gladly do without them.

He shouldn't be scammed, nobody should(except other scammers).

I used to trust almost everyone on my list, unless they gave me a reason not to trust them. I was scammed by one friend for 4.5m, so I reexamined my list. Now I only have a few I would trust(and by trust, I mean trust with my whole bank).

As Uga says: No-one should be scammed. When people trust me with they're most treasured items, i feel proud and respect that person.

No one deserves to be scammed. Still, being excessivly trusting does increase the chances of getitng scammed.

Be careful in who you place your trust.

there are no stupid questions

just way too many inquisitive idiots

balance is scary to people who like things easy for them

Utopianflame.png

well, i think people who are trusting dont deserve this, ive known some one for well over 4 years, lent them my guthans, and next day they "lost it" i think people are pathetic for miss using trust and friendship, id rarther be poor, with good friends then rich and hated

Codguy (from tipit) gave me 100k a while ago just to be kind, other friends from rs have done similair stuff. The only person in game who gave me 700k to buy a whip was an irl friend. I will pay him back. If you dont know em irl then dont giv em what u can't afford.
