ugafan_2009
I see this term way too common. It means a person who values items in RS over friends. The usual example is when someone trades them a valuable item, and they log out with it never to be seen again. What if it is more than pixels though? As some of you know, RS gold is illegally sold over the internet. From what I've seen, the rate is about $6(USD)/million gp. Let's look at a small example, a santa hat is currently worth 25 million gp. In USD that is $150. Now, I've seen party hats stolen before. Lets take a look at these. We'll just use a red as an example. It is worth 202 million gp(according to another guide). That at $6 a million is $1,212. Purple-$882 Yellow-$972 Green-$1,080 Red-$1,212 White- $1,590 Blue- $2,700(used 450m as a price, guide didn't know) So you may trust your friend with a pixel hat, but do you trust someone you don't know with an item worth over a thousand dollars in real money? Moral-don't lend out your items, and don't scam. Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651
BDave
Shows how crazy people are to buy RS money. Is it really worth spending over 2 grand on a paper hat that does nothing in the game? Most people have limits as to what they would steal from someone. You are simply showing that what we "lend" out is worth a hell of alot and I for one would not lend something worth 2 grand to a friend irl let alone a game. jessy87
i used to see it for only $5 a mil, but hey whatever. close enough. your rite, 100 some dollars for a santa is considerable seeing how its nearly the cheapest rare item that is wearable. yomom1919
also its a huge time saver. making, say, 420m for a blue takes a LONG time, so its really not just pixels, its more like saving 5 months of work.
Lep
Imagine Jagex selling their own rares on Ebay to people, they can just generate them at will. Selling lower than everyone else to make thousands, then banning the people that bought them from Jagex.

i123i
isn't blue like 600m?lol But yeah, 5-6 per mill is common via paypal, egold it can drop to 3 per sadly, but yeah. Normally people don't buy whole party hats. They buy smaller amounts of mills, unless they're rich or their parents allow them to spend their paychecks on RS and tbh I think it's better then them illegaly buying booze or drugs even though techniqually everything I've said is "illegal" by some terms. If a mod thinks I delved too far with this post, delete it, I won't mind.
Chaos_Reborn
Yes, but what is the definition of a friend on Runescape? A friend on Runescape is much weaker than a friend in real life, you can even relate your friend as pixels the same you see money as pixels. Visit my Runescape comedy website, based on in-game screenshots.

During the time it would take some of these people to have enough gp for a blue party hat by doing meaningless repetive tasks in game they could have made enough real life cash to buy it on Ebay or something (i.e., using time working in real life instead of time in game for gp). That way, they spend less time on the game doing meaningless tasks, have more time for work and family, and get a nice blue party hat in their bank. To be honest, for people who can make cash fast and hate chopping down the same tree all day, it's a good move. It's debatable whether the system is corrupt or not, but the people buying those blue hats for $2,700 know what they're doing. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.
