Mine almost never did, so I sold it.

I'm combat 103, and I JUST got def 70. I'd been putting it off for years (well, maybe a year). I originally wanted to be a rune pure, and I was for a long time. Then, when my combat got up in the high 80s, I decided rune wasn't good enough, and I trainied my def up to 60 for dragon legs/helm/sq.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, last week I finally bit the bullet and trained it up to 70, and my first order of business was to buy full guthans.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Can I just say that every other milestone in the game pales in comparison. Like when I finally got 76 fishing, and was able to fish sharks, I got bored really quickly and decided shark fishing wasn't really that great after all.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But Guthans is a totally different story. It makes a HUGE difference. I just powered through a gargoyle slayer assignment without ever pausing or ever eating a SINGLE PIECE OF FOOD!

What do you mean is it worth it? Besides armor repair costs, it's free. Assuming you have 9mil, buy the guthans, train with it, then sell it back. You might even make a profit if you play your cards right.

I think it's worth it. It's very convenient to not have to bank as often as you would when you train by normal means.

does the durability only go down if you are wearing the full set? i have always wondered in general about barrows armor since i havent ever bought any.

As long as you are wearing any piece of any barrows set and you are engaged in combat, it will go down.

Guthans is totally worth it, the price will add up if your up against heavy hitters. Think about it, sharsk(independant variable) + 15 hours = (variable) while with Guthans you could save with the heavy hitters, its worth while and worth it.

all this positive feedback on the thread topic and the fact that i have a full set of guthans currently sitting in my bank makes it all the more painful that i'm going to wait another few months before going back to members.

It's worth it, but you shouldn't sell everything you have to get it. You need regular equipment, and you don't really train with guthans, you use another armour set and weapon, then use the set to heal yourself.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

pfft...if your training on something thats going to make you at least 100-200 k...just use guthans armour with whip...best bet anyway..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

kicks [wagon] at fire giants...which seem to be pointless now although al lthe fire runes and rune arrows easily pay for repair cost, plus half keys and half sheilds. I spose dmed also.

I've never owned it (excluding random parts from barrows which I sold). Seeing as I train at PC :$ I don't need it. And I have bones to peaches anyway, but then again i'm always on ancients.

20k? Even at 99 smithing, you cant get 20k. Unless you used it for 10 second, of course.

which makes no sense its smarter to do like i said which a lot of people do . If you do it your way then you will be repairing everything but the spear at the same time unless you just go with the flow and repair all... You get more out of the guthans the way i said.... I personally love my set i have... I put on the old dragon with guthan in inven i can train for way longer than if i just wore guthan with Defender (not shield) and whip.. I'm all about maxium use with lil cost.. I still have to repair in 15hrs but i won't be repairing nearly as often if i wore guthan straight out....

also really good for barrows, can do mega runs on one trip, just take enough ppots for dharok and karil, and a few bits of food and you could last all day on one run (if you have a decent combat lvl). you will definately get at least one barrow item in 15 hours, plus using slayer dart you recycle your runes - so big profit made from this.

360k is a considerable amount if your killing stuff that does not yield any reasonable drops. 3.6mil is 150 hours of play time with that...and really 150 hours sounds like alot but, if your going to be using guthans intelligently its like a week? i dunno i didnt do that math.

which is stupid upon that persons part. the ONLY time i wear full guthans for the actual armor bonus, dag kings, and kalphites as slayer when i cannon them. ull get attacked a bunch and poisoned a bunch, ull need the def to help you out.

yes to hand over 9mil @ 1 time for a set of armor its considerable amount of $ seeing how some people barely use it. like...if i had 9mil more cash id probably buy 99 firemaking&cooking and a mud staff, 3 things ive been to lazy to fork $ out for.

It's awesome for slayer, tho useless in pest control and some other special situations.

I personally think that if you want to live, eat or use prayer. Guthan armor was just a plan by Jagex to lower the economy. I mean look at the price!
