CaJ
I'm starting a topic hopefully many would be interested in. Just curious to know all your best memories and what it felt like.. The party hat scam back in Nov 2003. I remember it well, everyone went crazy because the prices for the rares just plummeted. Obviously someone had duplicated a number of pink party hats, and Jagex later had to delete them. The people who had sold them or those who simply duplicated them were banned. Good Times  The very first day of RS2 beta on December 1st, 2003. I remember the very first time I logged in I was like holy cow this is great for a Java game!! Everything to killing monsters to training skills was great, you actually got to see your character doing some actions. I wish I had that experience back, but RS2 beta will never return... :( The Drop Parties hosted by various FanSites. I remember back in the day before RS2 came out RSC had great drop parties, not like all these fake ones you see today. They were actually real, and the ones by RuneHQ and RuneVillage attracted a lot of guests. But the rewards were huge. I remember I would go crazy over a dragon med, a dragon shield or even just a dragon axe being announced at a drop party! Some of the big ones dropped Santa Hats and Party hats, worth a good amount back then. I sure miss those times. When you met someone who was famous or had a skill ranked at number 1. Everyone knows who Zezima is, but I happen to know him ever since he took over Bonebreaker6s spot around early Dec. 2003. Ever since then he has maintained one of the longest ranked spots ever, it was rare that he would drop behind. Other famous players I met were Zonghui, Fist of God, Ltangel, Swedemike, Piranha, Jamie2002, The Old Nite, and others I can't remember. When people congratulated you for doing the Legends Quest. Before RS2 had to make it where you could eat while fighting, you had to run away after monsters swung 3 strikes. I was lvl 76, and had gotten weary of a long quest after completing the what was then hard Underground Pass. Nonetheless I had to fight demons, and I had barely survived. After I finished the quest, I went down and fought some shadow warriors. The people who were there besides me replied in a very nice manner, because they were considerably much higher lvl than I was. I found fighting Shadow Warriors back then to be a real fun experience. You don't see such loyal high lvl players down there anymore. :( Going out into deep wildy. When I was a noob I use to go out all the way to the Axe House just to see if anyone was training. Once they chased me I had to run of course, really it was walking because you couldn't run in RS1. But I remember times when I tried entering the wildy bank and a few lvl 110s trapped me between the door and the exit outside. I had no choice but to give up the items I lost. But what was fun afterwards was dying and finding a whole bunch of players dueling in Lumby. I think Jagex made a big mistake to only allow dueling in the Dueling Arena. I wish all these memories would come back at me. I think that Runescape has gone from a glorious safe haven to a rundown shack held by low lvled noobs. I'm not here to talk about that, if any of you have played Runescape for a long time, feel free to post your memories here.

Turk
I have lots of memories regarding RuneScape, some good and some bad. Most of them were when I was a lower level, it just seemed that there wasn't as much drama then. I still have good memories today, but they don't seem as "innocent" as they did back then, when the world of RuneScape was still new to me. Anyway, some of my favorites I'll list .. Finding my way to Varrock after getting lost in the area around Draynor Manor. I rarely left Varrock after that, and spent all my time killing the Goblins near the back entrance to the Edgeville Dungeon where the Hill Giants were. I remember being so ecstatic when I got a brass key from someone to go down there. It felt like some place that only a few people knew about (which wasn't the case), and that I was lucky to be privy to it. I trained on those Goblins for a long time too. Far longer than a person of my level should have, but I didn't like to take risks. I chopped the Oak trees near Gertrude's house, and then sold the logs to the general store for 2gp each. I thought that was good cash back then, and used to camp there at the general store looking for items that I could buy. I remember buying an Amulet of Power for 4k, and getting compliments for wearing it. Then explaining that I only paid 4k instead of 10k, and people were amazed, and told me I was lucky. Comradery was so much more back then. It's funny now, but I rarely go to Varrock now, and when I do the music instantly brings back all those memories. Infact, now that I think about it, most of my significant memories of RuneScape have taken place in Varrock. It's where I first got scammed (never to be scammed again). I was buying a Mithril platebody and in my excitement I forgot to check the second trade screen. He had removed it, and I got nothing for the cash I spent. It was also where I bought my first ever Halloween Mask (green). I had saved up long, and hard for it. My friend idolized it so much that I eventually gave it to her. It wasn't long after that I saved up for a red one later on down the road. I enjoyed helping people out back then, and making them happy. Infact, I still do today. If you're polite and need help, I'll usually go out of my way. I wouldn't want to sour the experience of this game for other people, like how some people used to treat me for being a "noob." It's worse today than it was then, but it's still nice to make someone's day. Speaking of which, that reminded me of the guy who walked me through the entire Knight's Sword quest just so I could get that cool looking sword he had. I wish I knew what happened to him, since he stopped logging in a long time ago, but he was one of the few people that made a large impact on the way I play the game now. He actually took the time out of his playing to help do this quest, just because. He never asked for money, or any kind of compensation. He also helped me do Dragon Slayer and earn my first Rune Plate. He helped me level, and guided me through the quest. He never made it overly easy though. Never gave me the runes to get the magic level required, or any cash. I relied on him to guide me, but he made it where I needed to rely on myself to accomplish it. He was also the first person to greet me when I got back from killing Elvarg. I guess, in the end, it was Varrock, and that guy (who's RS name I wish I could remember) that are my fondest RS memories.

meol
When I logged I thought the game was extremely good, and I had lots of fun cutting and lighting logs (I had like 20 wc and fm levels before training combat). After some exploring (I was near the Champion's Guild) I was thinking: "wow, this world is huge!). North of the Lumbridge Chicken Pen I found my first RS friend (a nice arabian guy). He was like 5-10 combat levels higher than me, so I always thought he was such a good player. When I was level 13 and he level 20, a level 60 in full rune (I was astonished and overwhelmed) came to me, and gave me 5k. From then on, my friend always said I was "the one with money". I actually felt I was rich with that much money and I bought an air staff instead of the magic staff I was so proud about. It became my favourite weapon until I bought a mith scimmy, which was my favourite weapon until I could use rune. People were actually helpful back then, although there have always been arrogants and egoists. This signature is intentionally left blank.
jedidude77
i remember raoming in f2p during my first hour, i saw the dwarven mines and i thought it was pretty cool on the side, it was then that i realized that RS was BIG! : There's no such thing as "wireless." TheEvilGizm0
I can remember mining ores in the varrock east mine and smelt them in Lumbridge. a 5 minutes hike for 28 iron ores  Then I made weapons out of the ores and sold them to the genereal store in Varrock, then repeated. I did that for a long time untill a friendly players told me that iron ores sold for 100 each. I was like  So I sold iron ores to hear, 28 at a time because I didn't know how to note items... They finally got it right.

aoe325
I remember being lost in lumbridge. Yes, lost in lumbridge, do not ask me how tough. I remember the tutorial island, first thing you would see after openning the door was a pen whith rats and the combat instructor near it. I remember the mining part of the tutorial was in the outside, in a big huge hole in the ground whith the rocks at bottom. I remember the mining guild being just a little cabana whith a dwarf guide. When i first saw the requirements i was sure i would never be able to go in there. I remember mining in varrock, smelting in lumbridge, smithing in varrock then selling to general store/ sword shop :D you get the picture Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.
