January 15, 200719 yr Wow; bare-handed diving catches - welcome to a common occurance in Cricket. You understand my point tho - you accused one sport of not being a "sport" because it apparently "did one thing" but then went on the devensive back foot when a sport which "does one thing" that you like got attacked.
January 15, 200719 yr Baseball/soccer is anything but exciting, mostly the drama of your team winning.
January 15, 200719 yr Americans (or at least ignorant rednecks) think it is for "queers". Hypocrites.... I haven't played at any school (American football) that didn't have a single fruity kid on it that kept looking at people's [wagon]. Funny though. I asked this British guy what he thought about "American rugby" and he said it was for "queers", too. So basically you got to go with the majority and say soccer is a good sport, otherwise it wouldn't be so popular. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
January 15, 200719 yr Only reason i watch football is following through with my countries team and checking if they won , because worldwide level football teams are a huge symbol to a country and them winning gets you real proud . I never really watch the whole game through because it does get boring , a football match is very long and can be very boring when both teams are really good, unless you have a bet with someone :) then your heart is all the way down out of your [wagon] and you start watching every single move and yelling it gives you shivers lol. Basically america has the most inner conflict due to recent political happenings and half the americans lost sense of patriotism and lost the love of their country. One more thing is the american teams dont seem to get much funding and training. Anyways whoever heard of an american sports team good of something , not me really. Join the movement^
January 15, 200719 yr One more thing is the american teams dont seem to get much funding and training. lol.. not enough money? I highly doubt that. Americans (or at least ignorant rednecks) It makes me sad that we're catergorized by the people that most Americans hate, lol. :? ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
January 15, 200719 yr Well, it does look like the attention span of the average American doesn't get higher than three minutes. As they need as many goals as possible to stay entertained. Ah well, that's what Americans generally get a kick out; a fast and short-lasting thrill, and a lot of them. Just look at what they eat! Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 15, 200719 yr One more thing is the american teams dont seem to get much funding and training. lol.. not enough money? I highly doubt that. quote] I did not say not enough money. Im just saying they dont care that much about sports and the teams dont get that much funding and training support. Join the movement^

Im just saying they dont care that much about sports and the teams dont get that much funding and training support. Clearly you know NOTHING about American sports. Americans care about their sports. Every Red Sox home game is sold out. With many more people watching on TV. And no funding? Check out the payroll of the Yankees. To be honest, baseball isn't that exciting to watch on TV, but live, or when you're playing it, it's fun. Except for extra-inning games. Those are always fun. January 15, 200719 yr Baseball is exciting, at least to me. I just would like some people if you could to post exciting video moments (Youtube?) in your sports history. Here's a vid of some nice baseball plays. The David Wright play is at about 3:40. There's also some plays in football of hard hits at the end. I don't see action like this in soccer. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting
January 15, 200719 yr I am American and sometimes I do find Football(Soccer) interesting. The problem I have with this is that all the Euros and others think that Americans only like the huge hits and people getting their senses knocked out. Don't get me wrong, that can be kind of interesting sometimes, but I do respect Football(Soccer).

You don't see catches like David Wright's in hockey, do you? But you DO see stuff sort of like this in . (The quality isn't that good on the second one, but you should be able to make out the saves.) And to match up against your American football hits... No, I'm not European, and I don't hate American sports. You just don't have a good argument in saying that American sports are better than soccer. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.
January 15, 200719 yr Exciting soccer... watch shaolin soccer  Soccer is semi fun to play. Baseball.. I really just watch it to see my teams win. Baseball is only fun for like the minute or so that you are on plate. Football.. I watch the highlights in the news really. I can't watch a full game. The nfl blitz games are really fun. I used to like playing football a little. Basketball.. I used to play a lot. Got really boring. I watch games sometimes.

You understand my point tho - you accused one sport of not being a "sport" because it apparently "did one thing" but then went on the devensive back foot when a sport which "does one thing" that you like got attacked. When ever did I say that Soccer was a one thing sport. Yes I said that I could say that the way you were talking about our sports. One more thing is the american teams dont seem to get much funding and training. I LOL at your guessing. half the americans lost sense of patriotism and lost the love of their country. I once again LOL at your guessing. Come to America and witness that every house has a flag out front in their lawn or on their house or on their car, etc.. Anyways whoever heard of an american sports team good of something , not me really. One more time, I LOL at one of your comments. I'd just like to say that we had been getting Bronze and Silvers in Hockey. Our baseball team is one of the elite, when we have players that actually want to play in it, and when we haven't played baseball in an entire off-season. Yeah, our soccer team is bad. Our basketball team is stacked, we just can't play the Intl game, but it's getting better. We got 6th in the Basketball World Championships if I'm correct. Trust me, we're not as bad as you think. Especially with all the steroids and hgh (Human Growth Hormone) and other drugs we give our players! \ EDIT: The play by David Wright is at 3:40 of Timmay's video. What a fantastic catch! Oh and if you don't think that baseball players are always moving, you are sadly mistaken. :P
January 15, 200719 yr Its because American like sports where there can be one hero. In games like baseball, basketball or American football a great player can carry a team and be a hero (despite being team games) however, in football its nearly impossible for one great player to carry a team and to become the hero. In American mainstream sport there just seems to be a bigger emphasis on the individual in my opinion. You seem to be putting down Americans for only liking heroes, and yet your name is 1_man_army... you know there is a place called outside, better graphics 100% pvp and no fee to play :-w
January 15, 200719 yr We got 6th in the Basketball World Championships if I'm correct. That was in 2002. 3rd place finish in 2006 (lost to greece in semi-finals). And of course you are so quick to defend your own sport, but you won't accept others. It's all push and no pull...
January 15, 200719 yr half the americans lost sense of patriotism and lost the love of their country. I'd also like to add this thought: Did you know that the first red sox game after 9/11, Manny Ramirez ran out of the Dugout in the Top of the 1st holding a mini flag. He got a standing ovation from every person in the crowd. Everybody!
January 15, 200719 yr because we have better sports like FOOTBALL! soccer is too slow a game is the main problem with horrible teams only loseing to good ones by like 2 points. plus theres no violence, which is such a big part of football. finally, whatever fan base is left is soaked up by basketball for a 2 and baseball at number 3. am American and sometimes I do find Football(Soccer) interesting. The problem I have with this is that all the Euros and others think that Americans only like the huge hits and people getting their senses knocked out. Don't get me wrong, that can be kind of interesting sometimes, but I do respect Football(Soccer). i dont know, watching people getting there brains bashed out is always really fun to watch, but a good long pass or a very long field goal in football is always interesting (take the 50 yard one 2 days ago between the bears and seahawks?) And American football is just a bunch of guys throwing a ball around. and beating the $#!t out of eachother too, remember!
January 15, 200719 yr I don't see why European's don't watch football. It's a terrific interesting sport. . Personally I will consider watching it if you convert to metric. Oh and it would be sweet if that sport could be renamed.. for some reason I find calling fotball soccer quite ridiculous. But meh.. :-w A recent study shows that 92% of all teenagers have small purple pet elephants named Jack. Put this in your sig if you are one of the 8% who like to do the fandango on Wednesday afternoons
January 15, 200719 yr half the americans lost sense of patriotism and lost the love of their country. I must have been sleeping when that happened. It's almost impossible to go anywhere without seeing an American Flag on someone's car, or outside their house. I really hope you don't live in America, because if you do you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that. 122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting

It takes 3-4 hours to play a game, while the actual playing time is 1 hour. And you wait...10 seconds between plays? Play rarely stops in soccer. If it does, it's short. And the Patriots won yesterday by 3 points. In a game which scoring isn't that hard in. In soccer, you try scoring a goal. It seems easy, but it's not. And violence? Look at my third link in my last post. It's not exactly violence...But that hurts. Maybe more than getting tackled. Yes, I enjoy fights in hockey. And hits. Once again, I bring you to my last post. And a long pass or a goal from far out in soccer is always interesting. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.
January 15, 200719 yr Alright, football sucks, sorry. I'm British, been to many football games. Footballers are WIMPS. Rugby, you get a broken nose, you carry on. Football, you break a toenail, you're off for a week and the other guy is red carded. Too much drama for me... :/

Football, you break a toenail, you're off for a week and the other guy is red carded. Too much drama for me... :/ Yeah, ya know what I found funny while getting into soccer during the world cup. I was watching the Italy, USA game. A guy would sprawl down hurt. He'd be carried off on a stretcher. They'd spray something on him, and he sprinted right back on. A bunch of little cheaters and wimps they are. Reminds me of little baby, Philip Rivers, quarterback of the San Diego Chargers. That tap was strong when you [bleep]ed the ball wasn't it?
