Why Do You Play RuneScape?

Yep Soultar. My Postcount has SLOWLY gone up, because I used to get about 20+ Posts a week, Now it's dwindling to about 4-5.

I play it because its addictive, even though i spend more time on the forums than playing the game itself. (These forums, not the offical forums)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I play it when i'm bored, but not when i'm busy. I can quit playing it anytime, but id prefer playing RS then going school. I'm not going college, but then again, i won't play RS when i'm 16...

the community is going downhill (f2p is going up though, p2p is going down) and i am finding the game increasingly boring.

Because it doesn't require high amounts of time. Earlier I played the game World of Warcraft and I had to play ATLEAST 7-8 hours a day in order to maintain my economy and my guild. Raiding starting at 19:00 and ending at 23:30 is rough when you have School and other intrests to fill in, also need quite some money after one night of raiding due to repairs so I'll have to play another hour or two in order to keep my money up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Runescape is a Solo-MMO, you don't need anyones help in order to have fun, which reduces the time you need to waste on it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I also play Runescape because of the highly entertaining Treasure Trails and Proffesions.

Yeah, that's a good point, though all of the surveys I have seen aren't thought-provoking or prone to debate. Places to alch? What level you became a member? Worst moment in RuneScape? Bleh.

i think most ppl have a hard time to quit because they put so much time in the game, cuz thats all runescape asks for, time and deication(and loads of clickage :P ). anyways, i think thats why most ppl keep playing...

The live economy factor, cheaper price (compared to other games of its nature) , and minimal complexity of the game plus its easily accesible and relaxing and even more so this game seems like in a little while at the rate it's going it may stride to greatness. (Or tumble, fall burn and be completely destroyed lol)

This is not a poll, it's a thread to discuss why you play Runescape, not your favorite place to alch ( -.- ).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I play because I can get away from life, talk to people from around the world! Robert Rdam lives in the Netherlands, Potter (And many other friends) play in England. I honostly, just play for the friends. I'm getting fire cape so I can make fun of Toast & all my other friends who havn't gotten the fire cape. I go barrowing with friends, to have time while playing the game. The reason why I play WoW not so much, and RS is friends. WoW is honostly a much better game, but I know no one but Spud.

I know General P2P is so :-# Seriously, why do you care if I want a skillcape or not or how many hours I play (used to play :D ) or whatever, I don't see how that benefits anyone or has any point. I play runescape for a number of reasons:

 

 

 

1. Because the price for P2P membership is practically a steal compared with WoW

 

 

 

2. Because i think RS is a great game, sure it may be slightly dated in terms of graphics but it's so deep and keeps me hooked for hours

 

 

 

3. Because my friend doesn't think i have the motivation to get to 99 defence, so i'm proving him wrong :D

Hmm, well at the starting I used to say nice stuff to people to make them like me or whatever but now I don't really care. Seriously, if you've got an insane goal, be sure to watch me flame you. If you've got a bad staking gallery/video I'll flame you, If you try to make a PK Video but can't B 50 2 I'll flame you. And Yes I will flame you whenever I please I like to flame, it's like a hobby I don't like acting like an up-tight proper english person, no it just :-# me off lol . Oh yeah and this is kind of off-topic - Since most people here are around 13-18 or something, wouldn't it be best not to spend 5+ hours a day on the computer. You could be learning something like tennis, or guitar or working towards getting a good job or being good at a musical intrument and a sport. If your resume you can't really put "Well I was Combat level 126 so I can own noobs so if you don't give me this job I'll ice barrage you and own you with my clan," :roll: It's good to learn a sport and be good at it then just playing RuneScape and adding to the statistics of our world's kids/teenagers being obese. At this age you can basically do anything with your life now, if you try hard enough you could be a professional at a sport or be in a major band but if you really want to spend the hours after school to the hours you sleep in front of a game that doesn't get you anywhere in real life then I feel sorry for you. I'm not against playing RuneScape but it's just that I saw people posting on another thread how they thought it was alright to play over 8 hours a day and that kind of shocked me. But if you really want to continue to excessively play RS it's really up to you, it's not like it's going to help you earn some money when you're older or accomplish anything, well any real thing, not just some pixel thingy.
