Harrington
Just wondering if anyone has noticed if there's any correlation between doing a clue scroll from a high level monster and the likelyhood of receiving a higher value reward? Dunno if it's just my imagination but I tend to get the best stuff from clue scrolls from dragons, abyssal demons and dagannoth kings. For example, I've done four clues today. Dag King - Green Guthix Chaps Abyssal Demon - Sara page 3 Abyssal Demon - Rune plate (t) Jelly - nothing but runes and basic armour
jessy87
nechryael = zammy plate dag kings = rune legs stuff like that. i dunno i think its probably backwards, but whatever.
Infernosage4
I'm guessing you just got lucky on the higher level monsters. I've recieved tons of pages from jellies. 269 QP | All Stats 60+ (except Summoning) | Barrows Drops: 8 | Dragon Drops:
deciever2
Best clue I ever got (Robin Hat, assorted runes) I got from a jelly, other than though I find that the higher the monster the better the reward. Dragon Drops: D spear x 2, D skirt, D half-shield, D axe, D 2hBarrows Rewards: Ahrims hood, Karil's Coif, half key x 6, D med, torags legs, veracs flail

jiggeryqua
Just got a blue dragon clue that required me to get hold of a blue mystic hat, a rune full helm and blue dhide chaps and then go and make a fire battlestaff, all to keep Uri happy. Having fought a sara wizard, I eventually got some rune tat, a mage bow and 1254gp. It's random - just like random events - when are people going to get a hold on that idea? :wall:

meb
Dagannoth Prime- Rune long as best reward. Dagannoth prime- Rune plate as best reward. Dagannoth supreme- I can't even remember... Kq- Nothing good, and that's all I remember. Jellies- Zammy plate and various other (t) stuff. RANDOM. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Umega
I've already done 4 clues from abyssal demons and the rewards seem the same like any other lvl 3 clue from other monsters. :| No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Mordendravid
It seems to me like the longer the clue the better the reward, and if you have to spend a lot of time in the wildy that seems to help as well, but again that might be just my imagination lol. My best ever clue was Robin and Black Cav together, and that came from Turasks. Not sure if that helps!
Freshwacka
No. I know someone who got a Robin Hat from a clue. Then they did the rollback so he had to do the clue again and he got a Rune Platemail. Clue Rewards are probably dependant on the exact second (maybe even millisecond) you complete the clue. 99 Crafting Blog
Dalcyte
it'd make sense, but i don't know how they would do that. He posted a thread about it (forget the author) and when he killed them again, he got the same exact drops in the same order. I guess it's drops that happen? I'd think clues would do the same, shows how much I know about RS, Java or whatever the hell RS is based on. :anxious:
Leesters
I tend to believe this... "A clue is a clue". I seriously doubt that they programmed the clue to "remember" what dropped it. I seriously doubt they programmed the clue to remember how long ago it was dropped. They took the time to program three different clue levels. Thats where it stops. Its just a random number generator determining the reward when its time, probably using similiar coding that the drop formula uses. Probably, the only thing the clue remembers is what type of clue it is (Level 1, 2, or 3) and how many clues are in the trail. I understand that we tend to have some coincidences that generate "theories" and "superstitions" about how it works, but I've done enough of these dang things to realize that its just a random hit. But I DO believe good clue rewards comes in streaks. Hehehehehe. Lee! You just totally contradicted yourself! Shame! \ A circus in Runescape?? Oh my. REMEMBER RUNESCAPE KARMA! Be a nice player, and nice things will come back to you.I'm back, add me if you deleted me. :)

chicodallasman
I honestly don't have a clue. Ew... That was horrible lol. You got a lucky streak, and it ended when a small monster gave you a clue, no big deal.

ValaraZ
There was this guy on these boards some time ago who was constantly selling cheese armor aka gilded. When he was asked how he got hold of all the armor he simply replied: i do alot of treasure trails and he was doing it on same monster over and over again and managed to supply the demand at least one item per day. Now i don't believe in that, but as far as i know, if your rsn is valaraz the clue will remember it and drop junk. Other than that, it has been proved that the clues are not predetermined of their drops. how? well, my brother got a clue which told him to go to legends jungle and we thought back then that he'd have to start legends before he can get there. not sure if it is so though. so the clue stayed in his bank for good 6 months untill they updated the firelighters there. when he solved it, he got some. I agree them being like drops since my dropluck is bad too  Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant: "If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor. cardovilian
My two best clue rewards were from consecutive clues: 1. Two torn pages (1 zammy, 1 guthix); 2. Robin Hat. Both came from the same Slayer assignment - Jellies. Being lvl72 Slayer and having picked up many clues from monsters up to Steel Drags, I have to say that rewards are definitely NOT monster level dependent. Why is 'common sense' so named, when there is so little of it about?Welcome to puberty, we've been expecting you.

This took about an hour and a half (the whole thing). So i'd say the difficulty of the clue chain has nothing to do with rewards, and thus probably its entirely random. Now i think about it that clue scroll COST me money to do :boohoo:
