rocketman089
No, but as soon as you know you have the disease, you can go out in a truly awesome way, of your choosing. Star.
NO. No because first time smokers dont smoke properly and wont smoke the cigerrette properly. You can get mouth cancer that way. But I suppose lung cancer is worse than mouth cancer... ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢

assassin_696
Yes, you should smoke. Being cool is important. There are quite a few good reason to smoke. ~Improves your mood ~Increases your alterness and reaction time ~Warms you up in the winter ~Let's you get out of lot's of sticky situations by taking a "Smoking break" ~Gives you a "Sexier" voice over time The negative effects of cancer, death, emphysema, etc.. aren't actually that bad, if you consider that your going to die anyway, and that your chances of getting cancer even if you don't smoke are pretty good. Who wants to live past age 60 anyway? For the last few decades of your life do you really want to be perpetual burden on your friends and family, while losing your memory, your dignity, and your bladder control? Better to live life to the fullest while you can. I'll hold you to that, you muppet. What a load of rubbish. SLOWSTORM
I think pault is trying a little reverse psychology? Convince someone it's "good", and then it won't be as much fun to be "bad?" When you are learning, you are growing. If you stop learning, you stop growing. If you stop growing, you die. Train hard, eat fried chicken, and take a one-a-day. And on top of that, smokers can't sing after too long. It makes their voice terrible and practically rots everything from their lungs up to their mouth. terley
No im no emo or wtever, im just going through a lot of problems at the minute. dont mean to sound depressive or anything im just saying that at the end of the day you've only got yourself. Friends are great and make life worth living but, friends do come and go. Erm, I totally missed the main purpose of this thread, don't smoke, you'll regret it. masterdez
Are they really good friends if they'll only be your friend if you smoke? If you dont want to get addicted to smoking, and be spending a ton of money a year on cigarettes, then dont bother, and get yourself some real friends. Peter
Since you asked... I can't believe someone would actually be having this battle going on in their head. For that reason alone I wouldn't want associate myself with you, whether you smoke or not, and if your friends are anything like that, I'd stop hanging out with them quickly. Don't want to come off as mean or anything, but that's the thought process that went through my head as I read through the two pages of this thread. But some real advice. You'll realize as you get older that being cool isn't everything. High school is a mere four years of your life, and being cool for those years isn't important. I'll also throw in there that most of the kids I see smoking as I'm driving to school are those that one could call "losers," but I don't judge. You make the decision. If you have any regrets, you made the wrong choice.

The Observer
If you lose your friends because you don't smoke. They're not real friends. They should like you the way they are not for what you do. My answer to this is no. Don't wreck your lungs just to impress someone.
Giordano
It depends where you smoke. If you smoke in public areas dont, if you smoke in your friends house then yes. I dont give a damn if you die because you think 'coolness' is better than your health, just dont expose 2nd hand smoke to innocent people. Barihawk
Why is it so "cool" to inhale toxic fumes from a burning piece of paper? It's not good for you, develops a nasty habit, turns your lungs and teeth funky colors... There's almost nothing good about smoking. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
