I'm 108 combat and I wore the yak stuff and fremmy shield and whip. I had put on ring of life just in case - and that turned out to be a really good choice. The moment i kill him he gets me down to 1 [one!] hp and the ring tele me out. I go back and collect the head from the body afterwards to complete the quest.

So let's hear it for ring of life! Always wear on new quests since wealth mostly is no use in quests!

this update blows

i suppose all you supporters are still ignoring player killing

To be frank, not all of us give a rats [wagon] about the PVP element of the game.

Anyway, I think it was a great update. Now we have a helm that can act as both a berserker helm and a prosolyte helm; which will come in handy at metal dragons. Also the fool costume looks nice.

And the boss was kind of hard for me. I suggest you do NOT use melee prayer. If you do, he will knock you back 20 feet every time you try to melee him. I suggest you use ranged prayer up close to him. I don't think he will use the ice spell if you're near him. In this situation all you need to worry about is his melee attack; so eat when needed.

I had to tele out from the boss fight the first time. I ran out of food and he still had 1/4 hits left. Stay away from the high level trolls and they won't bother you when killing the ten needed before the boss fight. That was my mistake the first time and I used all my food fighting them. The level 82 trolls don't hit hard, so use protect from range and have at em. The second time through I only needed to kill two trolls before I could move on to the king again, so I had all my food left. I used three sharks on him though. Nice quest, the best in quite a while.

BTW, no one has mentioned it, but getting to the cave can use up a lot of hitpoints too. Make sure to have lotsa run energy when you cross the second bridge and check the map to see where you're going first. There are a LOT of trolls and they are all aggressive. If you use protect from melee for the higher level trolls (they hit hard - I was hit for two 17s, a 6 and a 3 - minus 43 hits just getting to the cave), the rock throwers will nickel and dime you for a bunch of hp which is worse. I think it is better to protect from range and run fast. Once you get near the cave there are no more trolls and you can take a breather before you enter.

why would any1 with flax in their bank, that is not freshly picked spin flax in seers?

Those who obtain flax from either Throne of Miscellania & Lletya

Edit: I enjoy the fact Jagex adds hints to Monty Python \'

Best place to spin bowstrings: Neitznot

Bank and spinning wheel are "technically" close enough to click on one from the other. IE, when spinning, you can click to bank, and when in bank, you can click to spin.

It's hard, but possible. Seers is gonna get lonely...

spinningln7.jpg

nope, i'd disagree. Lumby is the fastest way to go. Pick flax and lyetta and head there...I"ll do this quest eventually, seems like a good one :)

The island names:

Neitiznot: Nay 'tis not

Jatizso: That is so/Ya 'tis so

Didn't notice that, but that's extremely funny!

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

All skills 80+

Get 8 ropes, and 8 arctic pine logs, cut the logs into planks on the woodcutting stump, then go to the bridges and select repair bridge.

Sorry to ask this if someone has asked it before me. But is there a possibilty that after the quest we can now cut our own wood to planks? This would be a little challenging and time consuming, but for some, this would make the construction skill obtainable.. totally free of charge!

Nope, sorry.

And by the way you don't cut the artic pine into planks. You just split them in half.

I may try it the quest later. Depends on how I feel.

122 Combat : 99 Hits : 99 Attack : 99 Strength

97/99 Defence : 99 Fletching : 99 Woodcutting

what is the point? lumby bank is still better then seers... like i said if you didnt pick it, no reason to use seers...

the furnace and cooking range are also pretty close:)

i thought this might be better then ghost city's furnace. but i decided, the ectophial is better then a lyre then run to wherever to do smelting...

some people should read all the update news.

I hear some people having diffulties killing the boss while using melee pray.

I used mage pray and didnt have a problem at all. He didnt hit me back, nor did he do significant damage. I used like 3 monkfish at 100 combat.

The small trolls are way harder. Some of them hit with ranged, others with melee, so you cant be 100 % safe.

a new rune mining spot?

also artic pines may take over willows and lead to a construction update

sig2-1.jpg

Kiss me, i'm part Irish!

That quest was relatively simple, although I did consume a lot of food fighting the ten trolls.

The Troll King was easy, I flicked on Range prayer and gave him a good blasting with 4 DDS specs, I then switched to my D hally. After realising that the Halberd was going to be awfully slow, I switched to my whip and killed him in about 8 strikes.

I like the new isles, kinda nice resources and stuff, also there's all these NPC's with funny names. I must admit though that I really hate that the islands toghether look like some kind of square, like the vikings would have bought a square in the sea and then built some islands on there, it looks horrible, nothing like nature would do it.
