I've played a few characters 'til roughly lvl 25-30. Unfortunately each time I've ended up bored of repetitive quests and instances. I was wondering if past say lvl 60 the game gets anymore interesting/fun?

(My friend says the game only really starts at lvl 70.)

I realise this question is quite open i.e what is fun, what is interesting to me?

But by this I mean different things to do.

i.e. end game raiding comes to mind etc. but I have yet to experience these activities...

Overall I am just wondering whether anything is significantly better.

Thanks for any feedback :)

utland kicks the [cabbage] out of azeroth and endgame raiding is incredibly fun

just stick with it. There are very boring phases of the game where all you can do is grindquest or repeat instance to level but you get through them eventually and just keep pushing for the big 70.

Out of interest, what kind of characters do you enjoy the most? DPS? Heal? Tank?

Depends what mood i'm in...

Dps as a mage is pretty boring, its just sheep this then nuke that.

Healing is pretty fun at times. (tried on a paladin and i was pretty good if i do say so myself :) )

Tried tanking and i completely failed.

This thread is 107% win. I love it. I'm a realy noob to WoW but i really enjoy reading through this topic eventhough half the time I have no idea what people are saying >.< So, anyone want to take on my LvL 14 warrior?

:P

You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "(bleep) you" right under your nose. Try it sometime. I think, even, if I ever die, and they stick me in a cemetery, and I have a tombstone and all, it'll say "Holden Caulfield" on it, and then what year I was born and what year I died, and then right under that it'll say "(bleep) you."

That is a gem of a comment...Someone who's played RuneScape calling WoW repetative.

If you can't make it to 70 without getting bored the first time, just quit. You apparently don't "get it". It isn't about going and doing kill/gather quests over and over, you're looking at the shallow end of the pool with that one.

As for saying priests have no defense...They have pretty fair defense as Shadow. Shadowform gives you the dmg resistance of, like...Mail. It used to be on par with plate just about, but I wouldn't say that today...My warrior has 10k armor or something without a shield on, lol.

I love healing. But I refuse to play a priest cause then i have little to no defense.

Roll Paladin, best end game healer.

   ...... Best single target raid healer.. yes...

Priests are better in 5 mas and better for healing when multiple people are taking damage. Can paladins continue healing for a while after they die? no they cannot!

Hence I am asking for the a view into the 'deep end' of the pool.

please inform.

Don't you like new areas or anything? I mean, when I leveled, I never really noticed that I had a quest to kill 15 humans, and THEN was given a quest to kill 15 bears. I didn't think "God, this is repeatative..." I thought "This is new." because it was something different...New areas, new mobs, blah blah.

Everyone says the game doesn't start until 70, and it's mostly true. Once you hit 70 you can start PvPing for gear or raiding for gear...But after that, it's pretty much a gear-getting-fest, which does get boring, so if you're bored already, I'd say quit.

Here you go, amigo!

http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_2.2.0_(Release_Notes)

thanks :D

lookin pretty good, i might have to shift around my spec when that patch comes out. some pretty nice tweaks to some priest talents. Cant really see a serious nerf to either class but i've never played a paladin past lvl 10 so i dont really know how their moves work

The Thrall escort event now allows 20 tries at completing the event instead of 3.

that is so incredibly welcome. the 3 tries rule was a pain in the arse with PuGs

End game is what you make of it really, it can either be a lot of fun or incredibly boring. I was mostly into raiding when I played but that wasn't that often. End game PvP is ok, but not great by any means.

Also if you can't get up to 70 you really need to play something different. WoW is incredibly easy in that aspect.

Anyways how are you guys doing? I've picked up Lineage II again and having a blast personally.

Man, me and some friends were goofing around in Ahn'Qiraj last night and that really brings back some memories. :( Why did they have to make such great raids obsolete, I wish the age of the 40 mans wasn't gone, I wish I wish...

I had a pain getting 25 people together to raid, 40 would just be aggravating.

Good news for people who like to level - they're reducing the amount of XP required per level from levels 20-60. Also, quest XP rewards are being increased by ~30%. That's a big change! Not mentioning the quest-revamp Dustwallow Marsh is receiving. EDIT: Wow, just read a new goblin town... sweet. lol

They're making it easier to level?

Not sure if easiest is the best word. Less tedious sounds more appropriate. Tigole/Jeff Kaplan said that 1-60 difficulty was fine when the game was expansionless. Now that there is BC and soon WotLK, they want to make it better for rerollers and new players so they can access the new content. He pretty much said flat out that 35-45 is when everyone burns out, which is why they are adjusting Dustwallow marsh (sounds like they're adding a lot of quests there) and increasing the amount of XP gained from quests. 20-60 is totally doable now but I think for new players, it is very easy to get tired of it at midlevel and not go beyond that.

Having been a leveller for the first time only recently, I can't see any reason to make it eaier. It's fine and easy as is :-k

Its actually to not make it as boring.

Yeah its not that hard to level, but its very tideous after you do it more than twice or so.

I don't see the point of the change. WoW has the easiest leveling of basically any MMO out there, and it's not all that bad. Even if you make characters of the same race you can go to other starting zones, and then there's the other faction. 30-40 can get a bit annoying but they're updating that anyways with Dustwallow Marsh.
