Farewell & TET Memories

As most of you are aware, yesterday officially marked the end of our Tip.It Events Team with our closing event, a Wilderness battle between TET and RS Wiki.

TET began in August 2004. Since then, it has worked to provide the community with fun and exciting events on a regular basis, usually with four events a month. Unfortunately, over the last couple of months we have seen a large shift in the community. People are less interested in "just for fun" events and are more interested in events that will yield some kind of profit or benefit, as made evident by decreasing event attendance levels. While there's nothing wrong with this shift in the community, it has made it difficult for us to continue with TET. So it is with a heavy heart that TET is officially coming to a close.

On behalf of the entire team I would like to thank all past event attendees and hosts. We greatly appreciate your patience and support over the years. We have had a terrific run and have shared some wonderful memories. We have had good times and we have had bad times, but we will never forget all the fun that was had and the support that we received from our community. We hope that our great event memories will continue to live on in the months and years to come.

For those of you who are still interested in fun events, just look around! RuneScape is still bustling with events. Keep an eye on the RSOF or even get your friends together to start an event of your own! RuneScape is what you make it so get out there and 'Bring on the Fun'

Unfortunately, the only event I ever made it to was a pub crawl back in August of '09.

We all dressed up in pink (I'm the 4th one back in the first pic, and I think that's Jaffy standing in front of me in pics 2 and 3 ) and went from pub to pub wreaking havoc. Or at least hilarity. Even Mod Howes came out (pic 4).

Good memories.

Sad to see something I was a part of for over 3.5 years go I have some great memories and great friends from my time there. Thanks to everyone who was part of TET, wether it be Staff, TET Members or attendees you all made it great

pretty much sums it up. I remember the KQ kamakaze event years ago, my first ever event, and I was also there for around the world in 20 minutes, Ill see if I can dig up pics somehow.
I will definatly miss the events.

A lot of great memories happened at the TET events. Sad to see the team finally come to a close after having such a successful 7 1/2 years.

I wish I could have attended more events over the past year but sadly work always conflicted with the Saturday events and TETAU didn't fit my timezone. I'll definitely never forget all the memories made during 2009-2010 when I was able to be there for almost every event.

Here's just a few pictures I had saved over my time attending the events, sorry I don't know which events they are all from but most of them range from 2009 to mid 2010 with a few from 2007-2008.

My prime time in tet must have been in 06-07. Even though I didn't really attend tet too much the last year, I really have fond memories when I think back to all the events I've been in. (I'm even spotted in one picture there, and I actually remember asking who's the quiz master like it was yesterday.

My greatest memory must have been the war between Zamorak, Saradomin and Guthix in the wildy, with Guthix being squished between the hammer and anvil.
I must admit the memories are actually streaming back to me, more and more while writing this, so I'll just give up writing, and instead say:

Since we are sharing the memories, I've got one I'd like to share:


This was the weekend the revamped Community Relations team at Jagex started. Being personally thanked is a feeling that doesn't go away and it hasn't. With my time on the team, from the good and the bad, I can say I do not regret a moment with it at all. Thank you team members. Thank you team leaders. Thank you administrators. And most importantly, thank you to the community for providing the opportunity to be a part of this team. With out you, we would have not been here. I would not have met some wicked awesome (and some crazy) friends (yes, I'm talking about you Omni).

TET may be done offering events every weekend for 7.5 years, but TET will never be done in my heart and my mind. May the memories live on. RIP Shiva. Bring on the fun.

I remember a ton of those older names. It was a neat diversion a long time ago, but I guess we all feel that we outgrew the events team.
