  1. Well yeah, I'm sure many other members have noticed this before, but like you said: not a very good gathering spot. Neat find, but I don't see much of a discussion here... :|
  2. He's not F2P anymore. Ectofuncus is your friend... who demands worship for Prayer xp! :P
  3. Not once was anyone nice to me when I was a new player. I was even surprised by how other treated new players. Experienced players jumped to the conclusion that, just because I don't have high levels or a lot of money, that I'm stupid. They used to try and scam and lure me, thinking I didn't know better. One time, I was selling cowhides in Al Kharid, and this lvl 86 comes up to me and offers to buy them all at 4gp each. I politely declined, explaining that I was aware of the price of cowhides. He tried his best to convince me I was wrong and even went as far as acting flabbergasted as to where I go this "false information. When he sa that I wouldn't bite into it, he called me a noob and walked away. I used to keep telling myself, that if just one player would be nice to me, it would help me a lot and I would remember it forever; alas, the day never came. Now I take time to help each and every new player that comes along, even if it means dropping what I'm doing to help them (be it with an F2P quest or just information sharing). I must have given out hundreds of sets of full iron armour, cooked a thousand reberry pies and made multiple visits to the same areas, all to help new players in exchange for nothing but the good feeling that comes from helping others. You'd be amazed what cutting a diamond for a player that lacks the necessary Crafting level can do for said player! You just have to be able to tell between people with a new account and actual new players (usually more patient, as they are eager to get help). The trick is to not show off expensive things or brag about how rich/strong you may be and over 70% of them won't beg for free items (hey, you were a new player once, weren't you ever tempted to beg for free items?)
  4. Seems neat, I'll admit not having seen a skulled player since the update.
  5. Well, an astounding number of members will start power-questing so that they may have more flexibility during trades, and quest capes will probably become a symbol of merchanting. But no one can know for sure what the future holds exactly, and in the words of Command and Conquer's original Red Alert game: "Time will tell, Gradinko. Time will tell". P.S: I'm not old, I just played the game! :P
  6. I was kind of looking forward to the 1vs1 mini-game, but oh well! : And it doesn't look like anything (Summoning, a couple more quests) is going to be released to F2P, like some of you had been speculating about for the last month! :XD:
  7. I believe this is to encourage players to train Construction even further. Remember, it is supposed to be the skill which helps take money out of the game.
  8. 1) This is the rants forum, what he's posting is what people do here 2) If you don't have something constructive to contribute, don't post. 3) Cheese pwns, k? I remember getting the Sandwich Lady a bit after she was added as a random (some 2 years ago) whilst I was fighting Elvarg dor Dragon Slayer. You can imagine the fright I had, being a lvl 50 in addy armour, struggling not to get killed by the dragon, and at the same time trying to answer the Sandwich Lady before she teleports me away. It seems to me that the Sandwich Lady is the leader of Annoying Random Events United (AREU).
  9. It seems that because alching has been given a beating, not as much money will be coming into the game as before. And anyone who knows Economics knows that Less Currency=Less Demand; therefore there will most likely be an immense deflatation in prices. For a month or so after the trading limit becomes active, prices will be unstable and players might panic and start selling items for a low price, thus causing prices to deflate even further. Quoting the Men in black movie: "A person is smart, but people are stupid. They panic, run and cause chaos".
  10. Certain worlds have been missing for quite some time now (such as world 49) and no one outside of Jagex knows for sure why. Let's just leave it at that, I don't think it's affecting someone in anyway. :|
  11. To be honest, I hate people that think like that.. "If you can't do such as such you deserve such and such" Say a new player is discovering the Wilderness, he hasn't been playing too long and is proudly wearing his new mithril armour. All of a sudden, without a warning on the mini-map, a lvl 100 revenant appears out of nowhere and KOs the poor unexperienced player before he has time to realize what has happened. If that seems fair to you, then I don't know what to say. :boohoo:
  12. The Grand Exchange was indeed an important update, one that benificed the entire player community. :D Most of those who complained about it were merchanters, because now there was a 5% limit on prices, either above or below the value of the item. What ticked them off even more is that they could no longer manipulate prices. Now, it is very easy to sell or buy nearly anything, and Jagex is working hard to keep the prices up-to-date (not doing so in player-player trades though :| ) whereas when it first came out I bought 10k of pure essence for 80gp each in a mater of seconds, and yesterday I decided to sell what I had left. To my surprise, Jagex has updated the price of pure essence in the Grand Exchange (as well as for other items like yew logs) and the minimum price of pure essence had become 120gp! So good job Jagex, glad to see you're trying to keep the prices right! [bad_joke]Drew Carey would be proud[/bad_joke]
  13. Revenants are as powerful in F2P as they are in P2P, which in totally unfair to them, seeing as they often have lower combat stats than members and do not have access to things such as Dragon items, Ancient Magiks, etc... Now I'm not saying F2P should get such updates, hell no! They don't pay. But the revenants' power should be nerfed, in P2P and (especially) in F2P. Plus, revenants can pass through a closed door, appear out of nowhere, never run out of "food" or "prayer", etc... Is that fair? Is that how pkillers were?! Not at all! :wall: And Bounty Hunter is very unbalanced. If a lvl 60 enters the medium crater (for example) he can be attacked by a horde of lvl 90s instantly, anywhere in the crater. And what about the skull symbol over your head? Hooray, no more 1-itemers, but say hello to something that lets everybody in the area know how much is the value of the items you have, resulting in you being piled on the spot by the whole crater! :uhh: As for the trading limit, at least it made rule breakers go away, but at what cost? It is now very hard to make money, and former merchanters have hundreds of millions of gp in their banks, and they can just adapt and move on, leaving the rest of the player community to scrape what they can of gp. The trading limit is necessary, as I said before it got rid of many rule breakers, just fix the prices, keep them up-to-date, and give us a bit of flexibility! #-o
  14. True, they're becoming more and more just common facts that 95% of all players who have been playing for over 6 months know. :| Letters are always fun to read, especially when you've been power-trainning all day! :D
  15. I don't see what's the huge importance of having a POS... To me, it wouldn't be very useful, especially now with the Grand Exchange, and it's more of something that some people want than what everybody use.
  16. You want to talk about spam? How about looking at the posts most of you are making in this topic? One word posts or quoting someone then adding "+1" constitutes spam. :boohoo:
  17. I believe the RS game screen is big enough. Why would you want it to be full screen? It's absolutely pointless! Plus 70% of players would die of boredom within the first couple of weeks after doing some power-leveling or something. Do you really want to be able to do nothing else while playing Runescape, except watch your character while he's woodcutting yews for three hours?! The advantage that Runescape has over other games is that you can do other things on the computer while playing. You can use Tip.It forums, you can talk with your friends that don't play Runescape via MSN, etc...
  18. This sort of conversation has been posted multiple times before. I think everyone knows about goldfarmers' lifestyle by now. Yes they ruin the game for other players, but keep in mind they aren't doing it for the pleasures of pissing others off, they don't even like the games for crying out loud! How would you feel if you woke up one day and you found yourself to be living in a single room apartment with your entire family, which you had to support on 4$ a day? Have some human compassion! ~Dragon
  19. Lol, I used to think Runescape was flawless when I first started playing. Then I found out about fansites and their forums. The problem is that if you try defending what everyone else is unhappy about you get a free one-way ticket to Flameville. :shame: Flameville. Population: noobs
  20. Yes well until the full report we can quest, play mini-games, etc... And if you're F2P, I guess all there is left for F2P is to skill. :wall: I enjoyed the occasional PKilling, I miss the old Wilderness.
  21. I fully support this! If Jagex actually did something like this, not only would PKilling be back, it would be better than before! Now I don't like most pures because of their infamous immaturity, but I did like to PK every now and then...
  22. Guest articles are always fun! :) P.S: my girlfriend doesn't approve of my playing either. :P
  23. I understand that there's nothing that we can do about it, so the best thing is to just suck it up and move on.
  24. Nothing new, I've seen this like three times before.
  25. Holy cabbage!
