  1. Syzygy going for 200M woodcutting EXP: A stack of level 3's, which I thought was pretty cool. Most (if not all) are probably bots, though.
  2. I like it and think that dungeoneering should have more links to RS outside daemonheim. It makes sense for newer skills to get more connections with existing skills. I agree. Dungeoneering is supposed to be a skill, but right now, it's more like an activity.
  3. I wonder if anyone got banned for using the rune smuggling glitch.
  4. Have you tried checking the Event Viewer?
  5. Not bad. By the way, was your guide inspired by mine in any chance. Mine is pretty similar, although it's a couple of years old.
  6. *cough* http://forum.tip.it/topic/286958-methods-for-killing-bots/
  7. Good old times..hehehe.. I would have liked to have been there to see that. Videos, please? :( ~D. V. "Ugh, paradoxes... Any chance you got the video reel?" Devnull That was way back in 2001, when videos were very uncommon. So no. :-(
  8. I remember when Paul Gower once teleported a macro user into the Wilderness for me to kill, right before banning the guy. It was my first PK ever! I wish Jagex would go back to doing things like this. :D
  9. That's impressive! Any idea how they did it? I have always heard that it was impossible to kill ivy bots.
  10. It's probably Tygas - he was actually my first RS friend. I remember racing him to level 40 smithing! (I won, by the way. :D)
  11. It's more like 150: http://www.futuretimeline.net/22ndcentury/2150-2199.htm#androids
  12. I've noticed that a particular NPC may hit high damage or block attacks frequently. For example, today I've had a scorpion that kept hitting 0's on level 3's. On the other hand, I also had another scorpion that kept hitting a player that worth mithril (albeit not very high). So I thought I'd ask: do you think NPCs have combat modes like players do?
  13. I completed Druidic Ritual. Wow, that was way back in July 2002...
  14. That may be inethical, but I wouldn't call it cheating.
  15. Bounties are intended to be anonymous; you're not supposed to know if the target has a bounty on them until you've killed them, unless you're the one that assigned the bounty.
  16. As we know, there are many items that are not tradable due to their use in quests. However, many such quest items have practical uses after the quest is complete. This gave me an idea: what if certain items were partially tradable? In other words, they can be offered to players that meet certain requirements. Here are some examples: 1. Blurite - it's untradable because it's a key item in The Knight's Sword. However, it can also be used to fletch jade-tipped bolts, which have a more practical use. Yet, all blurite products are untradable. It would not be unreasonable to make blurite tradable among people who have completed the quest. 2. Gorak claws and star flowers - untradable because they are used for a magic essence potion in Fairy Tale II. However, the potion also has practical uses after the quest due to its magic-boosting ability. 3. Extreme and overload potions - I understand that Jagex made these untradable because they want people to have the required herblore level rather than being able to just buy them. However, it wouldn't hurt to allow them to be tradable between high-level herblorists. Basically, any player can offer a semi-tradable item. However, the receiving player must meet the requirement in order to receive it. For example, if a high-level herblorist offers an extreme potion to a noob, the high-level player would be told that the other player cannot receive it. Semi-tradable items can also be put on the Grand Exchange, although only players meeting the criteria would be able to see the item. The same goes with dropped items; for example, if someone drops blurite ore, only people who have completed The Knight's Sword would be able to see it. Players would NOT be allowed to put semi-tradable items in the party room chest.
  17. As you probably know, there is a well-known list of the first 2,000 players to sign up. However, I seem to have found a discrepancy. According to the very first newsletter, over 28,000 players had signed up as of January 21, 2001. The thing is, I signed up on February 6, 2001, yet I am #1689 on the list of the first 2,000 players. Can anyone explain this?
  18. I remember that. It was epic how you got out of there. :D
  19. The willows are fairly empty on F2P right now as well. There are usually a ton of bots there. Maybe Jagex did a mass ban?
  20. A tip for people who hunt Karamja bots: if someone manages to get away with only a few LP left, be sure to follow them. I've had two bots run from scorpions, only to get killed by the snakes. I would have missed their drops if I hadn't checked.
  21. Nice job turning the tables against a lurer. Get any good loot from him?
  22. I know that advertising for in-game gambling has recently been disallowed. However, I have a few questions: 1. Does this apply to all trust trades, or just gambling? 2. Is the rule effective immediately? 3. Will pre-existing threads/signatures be locked/removed, or will they be grandfathered in?
  23. Come to think of it, I did try to sell a "rare" water-filled vial for a high price on F2P back in 2002. Back then, the only way a free player could get a vial (other than buying it from a member) was to finish a strength potion. Admittedly, it was rather dishonest, although I didn't consider it a true scam because the word "rare" was open to interpretation. Needless to say, nobody was dumb enough to fall for it. Oh, and I did consider selling a few low-level characters that had a scythe many years ago. Since scythes were untradable, I figured that I'd sell the account instead. I withstood the temptation, though. Plus, I had grown too attached to my accounts to sell them. :D
