~~~~Wakka Blog~~98/99 Woodcutting~~MY RETURN AGAIN~~~~~
Wowz0rz people are STILL posting in my blog lol I'm doing great in real life. I'm going to see Korn live tomorrow at the family values tour, sunday is my birthday, and I've got school starting back Monday. It was a pretty boring summer for the most part but I did a few neat things. See ya'll around the boards!
GTA IV delayed to second quarter fiscal '08.
I heard about this too, its upsetting but at least now it wont feel rushed. They can add more content and test for bugs a lot more to make sure there are few glitches. Its like with Gears of War, I love this game but lots of people complain about glitches that are constantly exploited in online play.
Wikipedia?
Your school needs new teachers. Fact. Regurgitating someone elses opinion is not teaching. I got a private school that costs me 13,000$ a year It's mainly just in English though. My teacher liked to discuss themes and such in books and he would sometimes branch off from that. And when he did that he would sometimes print out a page from wikipedia about some topic he wanted to discuss and somehow tie it with a book we were reading. Its kinda hard to explain but maybe you get what I mean. That was my other question though. What makes a book anymore trustworthy? Doing papers in the past I've noticed some conflicts between books when writing on a topic. I'm simply wondering how you can be SURE if info from ANYTHING can be right?
Parkour
this is very neat, I've seen it many times before. They are in tip top shape and probably do rock climbing, yoga, and gymnastics to do the things they do. I don't know exactly how you can practice a lot of this stuff, at least without getting seriously hurt many times :XD: . But I really enjoy this video.
Wikipedia?
what exactly makes a source reliable? I mean I see the same stuff other places just as on wikipedia. Just because its on a .edu site or its in a book in the library makes it true? where the proof? It just confuses me.
Wikipedia?
See, teachers arent as computer savy for the most part, so they dont realize that the editing has changed on there. That being said, it has only changed so much. There are still pages where people can go in and change dates and what not. Better use the sources given at the bottom of the page. Thats the thing that gets me, all of the stuff on they're is documented with sources. Isn't that what any other site I would use for research does? If I can't trust something with documented sources what can I trust? I'm talking on a level of what is actually true, not what the teachers say I can use. No, I never saw that. But how long ago was that? I'm pretty sure wikipedia has changed most their editing abilities.
China limits teenage gaming to 3 hours a day
Where you being sarcastic or horrendously stereotypical? Both. That's not nice :shame: . ...Yea, because saying an entire race of people are smarter than most is such a huge insult. Don't gimme' your PC crap. All stereotypes are bad, even positive ones, because they aren't true. But at least you weren't being serious (I don't think)
Wikipedia?
They don't allow us to use Wikipedia in schools as a source to do any sort of paper or anything at all. However, I know some teachers that get information from wikipedia to use in class as well as my English teacher use to print out whole pages from the site to use as handouts during a discussion of something. Basically, whats so wrong with using Wikipedia? I've heard that it can be edited by anyone but that has been changed I'm pretty sure. I've never seen anything on Wikipedia that was wrong. Can someone show me something on Wikipedia that is wrong? Can teachers legally use it in class? Whats the deal peoples :-s .
Man banned from talking to women
:shock: :shock: All I can say is HAHAHAHAHAHA! How can you actually give a punishment like that? I think its hilarious lol and totally impractical. There is NO WAY they can enforce a punishment like that. It's not like a cop on the side of the road is going to see him talking to a woman and go interrogate him for talking to her :-s . This is so stupid yet so funny :lol: .
Xbox 360
Your right about dead rising it does pwn. If you want a game similar to gta in a shopping mall with 50,000 zombies set loose, then go for it, unbelievingbly fun It's got tons of replay value as well, lots of achievements, outfits, and the megabuster! (unlimited shots basically, and you can like 3 hit any of the bosses with it lol). Did I meantion the bosses? it has the coolest boss fights of any game I've ever played, along with really awesome death sequences for them when you beat them. Most of hte boss fights are optional and its easy to miss a lot of them but you can replay the game and always find something new.
Really Heavy Metal.
Joke? I've had a listen to some of their stuff and I wouldn't really call it metal. It's all ambient eerie stuff. Anyone got some good tracks to start off with? get the entire album "Death Cult Armageddon" I have most of their albums and none are as good as that one. Almost every song on that album is great. Hellhammer originally drummed for Nile so if you like his drumming check out some earlier Nile stuff.
Xbox 360
definitly get the Xbox 360, NOT the PS3, simply because the PS3 currently does not have any good games coming out (that aren't coming out on the Xbox) and I don't foresee them getting any anytime soon (at least not many). Xbox 360 already has several great games out, most notably for me was Dead Rising which I still believe in the best game out for the system currently. I recommend that game to anyone that likes thriller games. Microsoft is working hard to fix the problem with it because they have already lost 1 billion dollars and counting. If they haven't fixed it by now they will soon plus it has the 3 year warranty so theres nothing to fear.
China limits teenage gaming to 3 hours a day
This is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard and I don't know how they can do it either. They can't put updates into all the single player games that are currently on the market, there isn't a way too. So this can only be done in future releases for games there. It's not the governments job to limit people's entertainment.
What a terrible week, I need advice
I'm really not sure if that was meant to be a nice comment or not :-k . All he needs is a little support from others... It's good to see that you are getting along with you're friend again. Friends are always the most important thing to have to get through a difficult time. You have my support :)
Any classic rock fans out there?
That's falsetto, but even so...I respect your opinions thoroughly. But I have my own. :D Classic rock is NOT boring!! Even if you hear it a lot, it's just so good!! Not only that, but in rock music to write something good is very hard. I mean, rap music, don't get me started. Talk about no talent...they're not even singing!! Even so, it is nice to dance too sometimes... :wink: Regardless, I love classic rock, I always will, it never gets boring, and I'm always looking for some new stuff to listen to. Alot of people seem to enjoy it, eventually the metal we listen to that has become popular in the 90's will be the classic rock lol. I knew it was falsetto, and I never liked falsetto, tis just kinda cheesy sounding to me. I'd rather a male sing like a male should, not necessary like a metal growl but just a mid range vocal like Nickelback or something. Either way, its better than rap :P (well depending on if the rapper plays with a live band, which some do and I like those). The beatles were always way overdone in my opinion, I can't hear anything in they're music that really stands out or seems like it took much talent to play. I'll never understand what made them popular.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty 2 was the ONLY first person shooter than I enjoyed since Goldeneye for the N64 came out. I still play it all the time. I did not like Call of Duty 3, they screwed up alot of things with the classes and made the snipers annoying to use. Hopefully Call of Duty 4 will be as enjoyable as Call of Duty 2 was for me. And before you say Halo, I hated that game (both of them, hopefully 3 will be a little bit better but I doubt it).
Any classic rock fans out there?
everyone at my prep school listened to this stuff (and guitar hero, people actually bring it to school). I get really tired of hearing classic rock songs because I have to listen to them a lot at school. I'll listen to just about anything but I'm pretty picky about music I will BUY (mostly just metal stuff). Classic rock is just a little too boring for me. Also, I don't like it when guys try to sing like girls, I find that very annoying.
I'll probably get it the day it comes out, it looks really neat :D .
The ps3 will come out on top acording to gamespot.
All the exclusives and good games are being released for the 360 currently. The only game that I really care about for the Playstation 3 that is currently being talked about is the next Metal Gear Solid game, but I'll just beat that at a friends house. As soon as they start making exclusive system games for it, in large amounts, and that are good, I'll consider getting a PS3 and by then the price will be down. For now, the Xbox is definitely on top and looks to stay that way for a while. Lucky for me, I have one (well I did, its currently being sent back to me from the repair shop, stupid red rings :evil: ).
