  1. Remove: C:\WINDOWS\system32\issearch[Caution] O21 - SSODL: boucicault - {0bad5052-665d-40d4-a9bd-a2891eaafb42} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\fmrmhc.dll Have a look at this page, it appears to have a full fix if removing the above doesn't work. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic70074.html Look familiar?
  2. Uhhh, yeah bring back Azvi's board theme! I don't use it, but I'm complaining in his place. Or I'm adding to it? I really don't know.
  3. Yep it is, but in your price range. I don't see how you'll afford a decent PSU and a 7600GT. A standard 7600GS (256MB version) can be as little as ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã76.09 (Scan.co.uk). A standard 7600GT (256MB version) can be as little as ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã114.89 (Scan.co.uk). Quite frankly this is the most research I've ever done on nVidia cards... I usually stick with ATi. :
  4. Ish my puppy. He's a 2.5 year old Pedigree Rottweiler. And he's sooooooooo CUTE! :
  5. Used to play 1.6 a lot, when I was about 18. Bought CS:S when it first came out with HL2. Actually I only bought HL" for CS:S... I found it to be too easy with my favourite weapon the M4. I was consistently getting headshots in FY maps. So I went back to CS 1.6 for a bit and pretty much stopped playing for around 5 months. Came back to the game with a new mouse and I've sucked ever since. My kill ratio was usually around 1.5 - 2.5:1... Now it's usually around 0.3 - 1:1. To be honest, I blame it on my ever worsening eyesight. I really do have trouble seeing things other players can see. Usually when there's an enemy that's far away we have a little long distance duel, I can't hit him. But he can hit me. :( I do like ghosting with one of my friends over Skype though. Cheating for the win. It's not true ghosting as we both do our best to stay alive, but as soon as one of us dies. We help the living player. I play under [WLA]Lord Suicidal on the UK2 servers (Mostly assault servers). Self named as I love just rushing in and taking 1 or 2 out as I die. That and jumping of buildings is great fun. I'd rather kill myself than be killed by the enemy.
  6. For a ready made PC you really can't beat Dell... They do make good computers and they have good warranties. Not to mention they're cheap as chips... Only problem with most Dell desktops is they don't play games very well. Dunno if that's a problem for you as you don't have a very good PC atm anyway. :P Seriously though, look through Dell.com. You should be able to find something. I'd get a cheap desktop this year and go for a more expensive laptop next year for going to Uni. :) Remember, cheap desktop? DELL!
  7. We are. Then again all the ridiculous spamming and sorts has pissed me off for a long time. That's mainly why I only read Off-Topic now. T&C has a much better atmosphere. (If you can get one from a message board).
  8. "550W" PSU for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã19.96 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... tID=132721 I quoted 550W because it probably isn't true... But it's more than enough to run what you have. 512MB HIS Radeon X1650Pro AGP8x - BUY IT NOW! = ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã103.39 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... tID=487722 For the money, that's a good card... In fact I'm pretty sure it's a pricing mistake. :| If you don't like ATi/AMD cards then, I suggest you go for... 512MB BFG Technology 7600GS, OC = ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã105.50 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductI ... tID=454108 Slightly more expensive, but in all it's worth it for the extra performance. As it's factory overclocked. :)
  9. Run a HijackThis scan and post the log here, someone should be able to tell you if you're OK to go again.
  10. Winamp 5 for music, Windows Media Player 10 for video.
  11. Very minimal difference, but if you're a hardcore gamer you'll benefit from having slightly more CPU time. To be honest, it maybe is worth getting a small cheap soundcard just to get that extra bit of processing power but I wouldn't bother with something like a SoundBlaster unless you're serious about sound too.
  12. They're for the recovery disks most likely. You really should read things. It probably told you all about them, I know my Sony laptop did... Remembering that using the disks will most likely remove everything from your hardrive and set it back to the way it was when it came out of the factory/shop.
  13. It'll be to do with your computers specification. You need more juice. :o
  14. Of course everybody is going to say Firefox... There's more M$ haters here than at a linux convention. #-o IE7 > FF2 > FF1. =D>
  15. It's probably running. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, select Processes and look for the [Caution: ExecutableFile] you're trying to delete. Click it, and click End Process. Click 'Yes' when it prompts you, try deleting the folder after that. If it doesn't work, you might have to start up into Safe Mode to delete it. Which I'm sure someone will help you with, as I'm going to bed right about... N...Zzzz.
  16. Like nvw08 said, there's a function in Media Player 9 and 10 to allow screenshots to be taken. Press Ctrl+I. If you want to do it manually, including using a stretched image etc... Tools -> Options -> Performance -> Advanced -> Make sure that you have no options enabled for using Overlays.
  17. Heh, I used to use Flash to make movies... I didn't know about tweening, so me and my friends used to make them frame by frame. :wall: It was funny to post one on Newgrounds and get "OMG that was ****!" "Way too short!!1" It took me like a day or two to get that... :x
  18. For serious gaming, I only recommend 256kbps DSL and above. Tis people like you that we gamers complain about. :P "Damn 56k'er, look at that ping!" To answer your question, any 56k modem is as good as the other... If you have to get one though, go for one that is labelled as a V.90 or V.92 modem as they're the most recent, at least they were about 2 years ago. Not really been keeping up with modems.
  19. Buy an external USB hardrive, as simple as that. It's just like using a normal hardrive apart from the transfer rate is a tad slower, although playing an MP3 at 320kbps max won't be a problem. American: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822101010 British: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/113873 You get the idea. :P It really doesn't matter who "makes" the drive, as it'll probably be one of the main manufacturers like Fujitsu, Hitachi, Western Digital, Seagate etc...
  20. Seriously guys, if you haven't a clue how to help. Don't. Edit: My apologies, yet again username388 is on the ball. You go guy. Your brother's laptop is trying to boot from ethernet. Go into the BIOS and change the boot order, that's probably what he or someone else has done and they've set it to boot from ethernet/network only. Set it to boot from HDD-0 or the just hardrive. Edit: If username388 is indeed right, yeah you'll need to send it away. :P Seems to be hardware related, so they'd probably have to replace the hardrive. If it were software related it'd try and boot and then give you an error message or a blue screen.
  21. According to Microsoft, Virtual PC 2004 only supports "Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional, and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.". Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 System Requirements. There may be a work around, I'll have a go at installing it on my laptop at some point as it has XP Home SP2 installed on it. If you're using a portable drive, shouldn't you be able to do the work at a friend's house or someone who has XP Pro? Tis the only logical solution I can think of.
  22. Anytime bro, how about buying XP next time and you won't have to hear it. Why buy something which you can get for free?
  23. Works perfectly for me. :/ I suggest you find and install MSJVM. That's probably why I've not had any problems.
  24. MP3 Gain. http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/ Don't set it too high though as you may distort the track.
  25. http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/9994/fontlf3.jpg Seems to work perfectly... Have you tried restarting your PC? You shouldn't need to, but it's worth a try. Also re-check your *:\Windows\Fonts folder to make sure it's there under the name "The Godfather (TrueType)".
