  1. Just one dose. Similarly, if you want a +4 boost, then a 2 dose stew is the best option.
  2. I wouldn't wish Norton on my enemies. Microsoft Security Essentials does me fine.
  3. Actually, looking at the screenshots, Runescape's graphics have more attention to detail than in WoW. Where WoW would have a flat wall textured with a stone wall image, RS would shape the wall so the stones stick out slightly and then add a separate texture for the stones and the rest of the wall. The problem is that most buildings lose their scale and atmosphere as soon as you walk in, because nearly everything that's higher than the character disappears.I think that a first person view for this game would really make people appreciate what is being done much more.
  4. Thanks for the offer, but I'm not too interested in paying for antivirus right now. I feel that a sensible approach to how you access the internet is worth a thousand antivirus programs.
  5. I'm a big fan of MTG, because of the complexity and creativity involved in playing with it. Around here there's a huge community of people who hold pre-release and release events, and they're simply awesome. Right now I'm experimenting with a Green/Black ramp deck, with Garruks and Lilianas. It's mighty fun. It'll be a sad and a happy day to see Jund finally be mostly rotated out of Standard.
  6. He ate him to gain his power.
  7. I think the (double?) enhanced excalibur is going to change a few things for those with high levels. People already used it extensively beforehand! As predicted, I don't even come close to completing any of them, especially because they seem to have a thing about having 90+ prayer. Still, very high level content is always appreciated, and I eagerly await the diary for the legs. Maybe a set effect too?
  8. Because it's cheap, ridiculously casual, varied, huge, browser based, and fun. The quests are apparently some of the best in the industry, and it's really difficult to get bored of the game. Since some people are comparing combat, I think Jagex have got something big planned in that department, and I'm not talking about hitsplats. Think about it: They've nearly perfected the balancing issues in Daemonheim, it's only a matter of time before they apply it to the surface.
  9. Well, maybe you should start appreciating that articles don't necessarily need to be about single faceted, narrow things? If we're going to describe the experience of a Runefest trip, things like stereotypes and what to do before and after the event are going to be at the forefront of your mind. Parties and events are often judged by what happened before and after, because it's an effective way to establish whether the people got along well and also whether they felt good afterwards, aka the atmosphere of the event. If the people who went to Runefest turned out to be the exact percieved stereotype of people who would have gone to Runefest (that of annoying nerds who have nothing better to do in their lives), the point wouldn't have been made. But the fact that these people were fun loving and the exact kind of people that would make an event like this great instead was noticeable and commendable.
  10. Never EVER say 'Give me your password', or equivalent, in any context. It's just a foolish thing to do. If you think about it, these guys have had to go through hundreds and thousands of these, and you never hear about the muting or banning system when it works well. The guy probably saw 'give me your password' and saw no need to go further, because humans really don't want to have to go through every word and check for sarcasm, it's just an impossible task. Considering how much the population has increased over the last few years, and that complaints about the system remain the same, I'd say they're improving on it. Seriously, don't be stupid.

Basically, cast a standard spellbook combat spell that matches a wizard's element on him. For the sake of simplicity, cast air strike on the Air Wizard.
  12. Screw this. I'm training Agility.
  13. The glass is twice as large as it needs to be.
  14. I'll explain. It lessens your achievements in the long run and makes many resources double or more in price for several weeks only for the sake of three days, at the irritation of many. If you could get level 99 in a skill in a day for free, nobody would care if you did it, would they? Why don't Jagex make all skills like that, because after all, it's free xp. Are you implying that you train skills to 99 to impress others? >_> Heh, I worded that badly, for which I apologise. To be honest, everyone does to a certain extent, but I would mostly train a skill to 99 to impress myself. The same thing applies.
  15. If a guys trying to kill me, I think I have the right to take his life, imo. Also, a few crimes deserve death - for an extreme example, how about Hitler or Stalin. Thing that gets me, it doesn't appear as though there is evidence to support the boy's claim. If it's true, I agree with what he did - but I think they need more then hear-say, which from how I understood the article, that's all there is. Do you really think that the most appropriate punishment for a brutal dictator is death? I'd make them watch their creation fall. They should have done that to Saddam Hussein. After all, Adolf Hitler took his own life, when he saw the 3rd Reich was going to fall, it was an easy and virtually painless way out of the whole situation. If you destroy a person and their ideas in front of them, they will beg for death, as they fear far worse. For the OP, I think self defence is pretty much the only justified situation where one person causes the death of another. EDIT: On reflection, that was probably my darkest post ever.
  16. Not that many I think. None of the mods in the video looked seriously obese. :P I've just had a mental image of everyone at Jagex being chronically obese, nobody leaves their desk, and they hire one slim* guy to distribute the pizza. Awesome. *Just overweight. Slim by comparison. You just crushed the average RS player dreaming of becoming a Jagex moderator's dreams. And with that, I will take my leave. *Bows and leaves to the sound of applause*
  17. They said that about Runefest 2010. Look what happened. To unspam, it wouldn't surprise me if they did something like this in the next Runefest. People really liked to take stuff they'd made (or just wear a partyhat) even when they weren't asked to!

  19. I loled irl after looking at how the armor is actually going to look. The actual designers of the in game clothing are CLEARLY different than the concept artists. They're so bad in fact, that they can't even imitate what the concept art looks like when there's a picture right there. Armor looks horrible rofl0l. That's a bit harsh I think . It seems to match the concept art fairly well to me. The main difference I can see is it doesn't have the same lighting on it, but light refletcing in a dynamic 3D environment, is totally different to drawing light reflecting of something in a static 2D picture. It depends on their being an apporpriate light source placed in the game world and a game engine which can figure out what to do with that light - rather than anything to do with the modelling of the set of armour. Besides that there's one or two little details missing from the ingame armour, but minor enough that I only found them after studying both pictures for a while. I agree, the light in the second picture isn't too flattering, as opposed to the concept, where it's orientated for the purpose of looking downright epic. I don't think the colours are vivid enough either, the game needs to use darker blacks to accent the coloured bits.

  21. The hitsplats are getting better. And I hope Jagex does more vlogs, they look very professional, and I swear they have some of the best jobs in the world. I wonder how many pizzas Jagex gets through a day?
  22. AFAIK All of those sites are pretty awful in terms of actual hits. There have been several cases where people run two separate trackers (such as Google Analytics) where there is actually javascript on your page and whenever that is loaded it counts as a hit and the differences can be quite astounding. Most of the time these sites under-report numbers, or have no real way of truly knowing. That would explain a lot. Awareness of ad-blockers and non-Internet Explorer browsers, where an ad blocker is usually on the top of the list of extensions and add ons, is on the rise over the last few years. These blockers may interfere with hit detecting software.
  23. Nearly everyone was interested in it back when the bug with the dreadlocks came out. Male faces are fine, even if the noses are a tad Michael Jackson. It's the female faces that look strange, their eyes are waaaay too big.
  24. It will more than likely lose its quest status, like Witch's Potion did. Not really a big deal. That is what I have presumed, however the wording is quite peculiar, I wonder.... Actually, looking at it now, I think they're going to replace the quest with a similar but more Runescape themed one.
  25. Hmm, not a particularly interesting month. Court Cases Batch 2: Bleh, I've become tired of D&Ds. Bonus XP Weekend Batch 2: I've said this before, I wish Jagex would stop this. It completely cripples processing skills like Farming and Herblore in the run up to it, and I want to play the game how I like. Elite Achievement Diaries: It's a good idea, nothing wrong with a bit of high-levelled content now and again. Then again, most people won't be able to do any of them, apart from the Hard Lumbridge/Draynor, perhaps. Z-buffering: I'm glad they're fixing it. Gunnar's Ground: I think it's a welcome change. Romeo and Juliet was a cheesy and bad quest. The only thing is that there are some recurring elements from it in later quests, such as the Cadava Potion in Dealing with Scabaras, and a thing about ancestry in Defender of Varrock. I guess they'll be woven into Gunnar's Ground, or stripped of Quest status. Are they going to remove Doric's Quest too? In other news...: Not interesting at all. *chairs you can sit on!* Where's Dungeoneering Batch 3 gone?
