armour
That about sums it up. The cheapest combo of legs and platebody are still Guthan's body and Torag's legs, I think..

mithril bars
Buy coal and smith them. Mith ore is at a low point right now, I think..

what weapon?
Whip. Period. If you anticipate training strength, go ahead and buy a dscim if you want, but get a whip.

appeasement updates?
So.. uhm, we shouldn't get a huge graphics overhaul unless something really bad happened? I would hope that the HD update was completely unrelated to the Dec. 10th updates, that it had already been in the works. But I wouldn't be too surprised if it was part of the effort to hold on to the remaining player base. Either way, I'm happy about it. Except for the plastic armor and the new look for the Legend's cape. :|

Do Lost City, Druidic Ritual and Wolf Whistle right away. That'll unlock summoning, herblaw and the first two drag weapons for you.

noob
Tell him that if he proves that he is zezima, you'll teleport back in time and give him a partyhat.

Why do we reminisce?
This simplifies it a little, but basically 'because back in my day, if we wanted to eat, we had to walk twenty miles through deep snow, uphill both ways!'. We want to believe, and have others believe that we are more important, better, stronger or something because things were 'more difficult' when we were doing it. The purpose behind this is to 'prove' that our lives had meaning. Another reason we like to reminisce is because we will often believe (regardless of the truth) that things used to be better 'There used to be fewer idiots playing RS', 'Bread used to only cost ten cents a loaf', and the like. So basically because we as a species like to complain and boast. But there I go again, spreading my silly opinions... Feel free to ignore my post if you don't like what it says. :

Almost Got Scammed? Want To Tell Your Story? Post It Here!
Well, this was a few years ago.. I was messing around, looking for house parties, some girl invited me to a dungeon party.. I get in there, wearing my best gear (at the time), torags, whip obby shield, ect.. One guy ancients me to under ten hp, then goes for a dds spec.. right as he specs, the girl boots us all, (you should see where this is going :P ), but before I die, my RoL activates and teleports me to the White Knight's castle, where I keel over, then respawn and run over to my stuff. Nothing lost. :D

They give pretty good strength and attack bonuses, they are 'free', and it doesn't take much work to get them. Edit: lil late there...

Ratcatcher quest help please
I remember having a lot of trouble with that too.. The real key is to be very patient and study the movements. What part are you really having the most trouble with? My strategy was to get up the side, then climb the trellis, and (facing toward the stairs) wait until both guards were at the right side of the hallways, then rush to the left bedroom, open the door and run in. After I caught the rats in there, I did the same for the storeroom, rushing when the guards were as far away as possible, then after killing the rats, going downstairs to mop up the barracks and kitchen. Once I did that, I let the guards catch me, went back up the trellis, and did the same with the right bedroom. Hope that helped.. :| But basically just stay patient and watch the movement of the guards carefully.. Good luck

Giving up on green dragons, reverants are too strong
I don't see the problem. I do pretty many green drag trips, I usually get attacked by an orc every ~4 trips. I have never died to them, the closest I got was the time I ran into FoG while tbed with 17 ppoints and 3 sharks left. And keep in mind, I only carry four sharks. The revenants simply are not a threat, because they are not intelligent the way pkers were. They can't do anything beyond flinging random overpowered attacks at you...

Runescape.... No Justice
Uhm.. I would think that getting punished for spamming would be called justice. But thats just me and my silly opinions.

63 smithing?
Heh.. Maybe I'll do it after all, if only to get a screeny of the 75k nails in the shop..

Whip
I don't know about anyone else, but I don't like having my ankles covered in tiny cuts... It also looks more natural. :

Who here hates the sandwich lady?
I actually kinda like her. Probably because she always teleports ignorant, insulting people out of the mining guild for me.. :

63 smithing?
Just made the first 8.65k nails... with zero loss/profit. I think that I'm just going to stick with cannonballs rather than dealing with the agony of selling 75k iron nails in lots of 50... And that is why I wish that there was a 'sell x' option.

Forgot about Rocking Out.. :-# Oh well, more grinding ahead... :wall:

should i get a whip
Get a whip. Until you get to the point where you're using a GS, the whip is going to be your best friend. The only flaw in it is that it can only train strength with Controlled. Once you have it, do plenty of monster killing or skilling to get more spare cash, and then buy decent armor (granite & rune or rune and drag skirt), and a d scim for strength training. Of course, thats just what I would do, and it is only a suggestion.. So do whatever you would prefer.

Charms!
I've noticed that hellhounds have a pretty high droprate on the golds, I usually get ~20 or so every clue..

63 smithing?

63 smithing?
Mining: 68, Smithing: 58. I've been drawing nearer to my quest cape goal (only 12 left yayz \ ), but I've run into a major problem: the 65 smithing req on Devious Minds. I've got mature dwarven stouts, so I only need 63 smithing, but I'm looking for the best way to get to 63.. So far I've been split between mining and smithing gold with gaunts or making steel platebodies. Does anyone have any suggestions for easier ways to get to 63? Keep in mind, I have a very low budget, the most I could spend would be around 380k. So basically I'm trying to find a faster way without forking out all of my cash..
