Drawball - New Recruits Needed!
Xenu has their logo on DB2, and it's surviving  In other news, a giant white line is going down the middle of the DB2. For some reason, every time I go on DB2 it says I have 100% ink, then I draw for a few seconds and sudenly it drops to 6%. Anyone else have this problem?

What are your favourite crisps?
Crisps are chips in the US right? Just checking. My favorite would probably be Cool Ranch Doritos. Love em. I used to love sour cream and onion, but for some reason I don't enjoy them now. And I hate all chips/crisps that have cheese in em. Like nacho cheese flavor or some weird Doritos Bleu Cheese flavor my dad likes.

PETA wants Ben & Jerrys to use human breast milk
No, you have all failed. From Breastmilk to Beastiality to TET to dog rasp-berrying, you people get offtopic REAL easy  I think this thread is now about PETA in general now. Frankly I think that if PETA really wants this to happen, they should send some female PETA representatives to do the milking themselves, see if they like it. Ginger put it perfectly, "the emotional wellbeing of a cow before the nutritional wellbeing of a human baby" and not to mention it's poor violated mother. But I would like to see what happens if we bring RS animal slaughter to the attention of PETA... and that Thompson lawyer who believes videogames are the spawn of the devil. The amount of fail would be tremendously funny.

Brisingr!
Woah, I never realized how many names were blatantly copied from something. I mean, you could have at least spelled em backwards or rearranged the letters as a little easter egg for observant readers. But no, you take huge characters from the biggest works of fiction and stick em in your book. I always knew Hrothgar was from something but couldn't put my finger on it. I'm reading the book nonetheless because I want to see how it ends, but I won't look at Paolini the same way again...

I got a 30gig iPod video for Christmas a year ago. I'm not a diehard music lover, I just listen for fun. Sound quality is fine. It's my first mp3 so I have no base of comparison, but I'm alright with it. iPod is probably trusting that people like me won't notice any sound quality difference. But frankly I don't care for the quality, as long as it sounds like the original and I can hear everything as it's supposed to hear.

Crappiest NON-COMPUTER Game you've ever played?
A Series of Unfortunate Events. The videogame based on the movie based on the book. Most videogames based on movies are stupid anyway. Finding nemo, Fantastic 4, Incredible Hulk, most Superman games... I mean, it's like activision and THQ think that whenever a decent movie is out every movie watcher needs a videogame to continue the story, and so they pop out half-baked videogame storylines. Seriously, ASOUE the videogame had 16 levels, all which are mostly "find the object and put it in the right place" type things. Beat the whole game in an hour and a half. And I usually suck at videogames in general, so this is major failure on the game makers part. Finding Nemo... *shudders*. The movie was actually ok. I grew desensitized to it after my sister watched it day after day... Then we got the videogame to make her happy... and it sucked beyond all reasonable doubt. Not only was it mostly a sidescroller game, but the movements were basically "go up, grab the thingy, go down, grab the other thingy, find the next few thingies and win." One could argue that the game was meant for the 6 year old Nemo obsessor and not a die hard gamer, but the game was a disgrace nevertheless...

That kid that went to your school.
I know a kid in my Global Studies class who takes everything as a personal offence. I'm not even exaggerating, anything that you say against him is as if you're taking away his right to free speech and publically criticizing him. Once we were talking in class about what are influences on a teen's life. When a girl said "the media" he responded with "I don't think the media has a big impact". The girl then goes "what? Of course the media impacts how teens think!!". He then says (and I'm not even exaggerating his words) "I have a right to express my opinion. Why are you criticizing me for that? I mean, you have your opinion and I just said mine". The teacher moved on in the class but the kid still kept whispering to the girl about his right to state his views. :wall:

The Offical TIF American Elections thread
Yes he was, Hoover was just the president in the first four years of it. My mistake, I meant to say Roosevelt wasn't president during the crash itself. That's what Biden had said, Roosevelt went on after the crash. Now that I think of it, one could argue that he made the same mistake as me in confusing the crash and depression, or that Roosevelt did actually go on after the crash, just 10 years after it. :-k

who wear jeans?
I'm the kind of dude who couldn't give a damn about what brand or type of jeans I wear as long as they're not womens jeans. I just make sure they're comfortable and go.

Paper planes
I suck at folding paper in general. No matter how hard I try, it takes me about 20 folds before I can make the very first fold smooth enough to move on. A lot of complex paper plane designs need precision folding or the flight pattern will be off. I'm the kind of guy who's planes end up to be a messy folded disgrace to the art of paper folding, and usually acts like a ball of crumpled paper rather than a graceful flight machine during it's time in the air.

82 year old woman given ban from her current home by court.
So basically... old lady acts mean and gets punished. So what? Whatever, she got what she deserved. I don't know what an Asbo is, but I assume it can't be good.

Study help
When I study, I try to study in the exact same place every time a test comes. It's a lot easier to picture a textbook page in your head during a test when you remember the background and lighting clearly. All you need is to grab a few facts from the question and fill in where it was on the book. And no, I don't have a photographic memory, but it helps me a lot. Flashcards are a serious help. Memorizing formulas, important dates, or just major facts are a lot easier with organized flashcards. I have a habit of not doing much studying beforehand unless the test is huge (like finals) but even when I put off the studying, it helps to have some habits you do every time. Your brain remembers stuff easier if you have a set ritual every time you study.

Iraq Aid Money Wasted or Stolen
With our economic crisis as it is, the last thing we need is more scams that's blowing our money. We're just handing billions of dollars in cash to Iraq and assume it's going to good use. Yet if someone is behind their taxes un the US, the IRS will stop at nothing to get the money.

The Offical TIF American Elections thread
Slightly offtopic: Washington Mutual just had the biggest bank failure in US history. I wonder what the candidates will say... oh wait. The debate's been moved. -.- I'm trusting the Colbert Report for all my political info. While Fox news and CNN and NBC was [bleep]ing and moaning about how it was unfair to the media to keep Sarah Palin's recent interview in secrecy, Steven Colbert was making fun of Fox News, CNN, and NBC for their [bleep]ing and moaning. I heard something about Palin making a mistake in Alaska/Russia or something. I'm gonna look that up. But here's a little something about Biden: In an interview recently, he spoke about how during the Great Depression Roosevelt spoke on TV about the crisis. Two things. Roosevelt wasn't president during the Depression, and no one had TV's back then :wall: . I think everyone's having their share of blunders. Even McCain, who said in a speech in one city that our economy was strong, and 3 hours later in another city said it was at risk. Jon Stewart had a great simile to this blunder, but I might not be allowed to say it... anyway, I think the media needs to stop having a frenzy every time a candidate makes a slip up. It's not as if Fix News and CNN and NBC haven't had their share of stupidity... just watch the Colbert Report ;)

Thompson Disbared!
Don't know much about the dude, but I hear he hates videogames and blames them for national incidents. Grr... he's like that Westboro Church except they blame the government and gay people for every incident in america. :wall: Glad he's gone. I hate how every time in the aftermath of a school shooting or teen suicide, Fox News or CNN has a special on violent videogames. It's stupid. Maybe this guy will be an example for other lawyers who want to take on GTA in court.

Worst thing you got caught doing at school!
My friend was getting rather "cuddly" with a wall for laughs (nothing obscene, just kinda disturbing) while the teacher was out of the room. She walks in and stares at him. If an entire classroom could be utterly speechless and confused as how to act next, we all were. It was a real "what the hell?" moment of silence, and then the teacher says "Can you imagine walking in on me doing that?" With the awkward silence relieved, we all burst out laughing. Thankfully he didnt get in trouble.

Men With Sexist Views Earn More
I'm not positive, but I'm thinking this is one of those statistics with two factors that are barely related. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how sexism relates to business unless you are a billionare with sex slaves living in your basement being fed once a day. :| . Maybe some men with high paying business or physical jobs just tend to have sexist views because some believe their job is above a woman's skill. Like lobster fishing (I hear you make big bucks off that) and company CEO. Not that I agree with any of this, just saying. Although if Palin becomes president these sexist rich men will have to eat their words. Even though a vice president doesn't make remotely as much as a successful business owner... :-k

School Mascots and School Colors
Hah, I laughed at bballer's mascot. Hardwood Trojans... *giggles immaturely* I went to two grade schools growing up, the first school was Lions and the next was Spartans. In our area (about 3 towns) there are 3 spartan schools, 4 warrior schools (two of them being high schools in the same league), and two trojan schools. We have GOT to get more creative.

Drawball - New Recruits Needed!
I think this whole DB1 and DB2 thing will epically fail. Drawball should not be an art gallery where you can draw cool images and have them permantly mounted. Draw ball can always just open an art gallery. Drawball's point (at least in my opinion) is for COMPETITION. It's the biggest war on the Internet. You maintain your image, fending off vandals, having others aid you, and managing your ink. It's rather intense for a Flash website. I have to admit, back when we just had to fight off some scribbles and a bit of graffiti, I had FUN fighting them off. Of course, when they got more people and started really hurting our logo, fun ended and war began, but before that, it was actually quite fun maintaining the logo. Now half the team can't even get in DB1 and even if we could we probably be banned if we made the logo. The creator is Drawball is babying the artists by giving them an art zone. Graffiti is still happening, it's just in the form of a more organized attack rather than meaningless scribbles. Like straight line blackouts and drawing images on top of existing ones. GF Drawball...

Uses for change...
I have cousins in Australia. They told me the Aussies removed the penny entirely and just round up to the nearest 5 cents for prices. Can anyone confirm this? I think it might be pretty interesting. The penny costs more to create than to spend, right? And the fact that millions of pennies are tossed in the garbage, dropped on the ground, or thrown in water fountains.

PETA wants Ben & Jerrys to use human breast milk
Ah yes, family guy had a great clip on a cow enjoying her job. On topic: Ben & Jerry's produces a massive amount of dairy products. Sure, a small Swiss company can do it. They don't have millions of customers. But a massive company like B&J? We'd require a lot of women for it, stuff em with a lot of hormones, and not to mention the indignity of having your breasts squeezed for 6 hours a day. I'm fairly certain the average woman can't just keep spewing out milk for hours on end. Besides, how would it affect the taste? Goat milk has a drastic taste difference from cows. But what about humans? A person's diet and lifestyle can affect milk quality, quantity, and not to mention taste. And if I'm not mistaken, isn't is it possible for HIV to be passed through breast milk?

Catholic Church says Evolutionism is Compatible with Bible.
mind you, catholics believe the pope has power over man, and since man wrote the bible, the pope has power to overrule the bible. therefore they dont have to obey the bible, they are special. First, the whole worshipping saints thing. There's a difference between admiring them as role models for how to live our lives and flat our worshipping. We worship God, that's it. We admire the saints, pray to them for assistance, and use their lives as models as how we should act to be good Christians. God said we shall not let anyone come before him, and we know that a saint can never replace God. By praying to saints, we ask for help and guidance nothing more. We do a lot more than this for God. Second, the "pope has power". Scripture says the pope is the final word if the Bible doesn't tell us the right way. The Matthew's gospel tells a lot about this. Jesus is speaking to Peter (the first pope) in this verse. Basically, he's saying whatever rules the pope makes is the rules. End of story. No one said we don't have to obey the Bible, the pope's job is partly to enforce the Bible. It's why the Vatican has the power to just say we agree with evolution. The Bible never said anything about that. Does this mean evolution cannot exist? Of course not, unless you're a fundamentalist. The pope can be compared to the elastic clause in the American constitution. If the Bible/constitution is unclear as what to do for a certain situation (new situations pop up by the century) then the pope/congress can create a law necessary to restore order.

Uses for change...
"Got a penny? Leave a penny. Need a penny? Take a penny." God I hate those. Especially when you need an extra 2 or 3 cents to make a purchase and the cashier gives you a dirty look as if you're stealing his 3 cents.
