Woman arrested for killing virtual reality husband
At least change the title. I'm tired of these misleading titles of news articles. She was not arrested for killing the character, the article says it was suspicion of hacking. It seems the governments of the world are really cracking down on the interwebs, Holland is also putting online item thefts on trial. Rather interesting to see what'll be next...

Is God real post your thoughts!
Again, it's called faith. I don't like the direction of these threads. There is never enough physical evidence God exists, and the few miracles that are known are quickly dismissed as either coincidences, false, or not miraculous but rather scientific. No one will ever manage to get the other to convert; an active atheist has little chances of converting. Although there are plenty of fascinating books written by Atheists who converted to Catholicism, they're just not convincing for others. Faith, in essence, is belief without seeing. We don't have to see God is there, we just know he is. Fine, if you thank that's bs, I couldn't care less. I used to be actively debating here, but I now realize my efforts are futile. Nothing will prove to me that God exists, just as little will prove to an atheist that He does.

some people are just [cabbage]
I've gotten used to it over the years. Blue dragons are the huge competition spots, especially in Heroes where the dragon is close to the burthrope bank but there's only one of the dragon. Just hop worlds. I know, it sounds like you're giving in. In fact, that's exactly what you're doing. But it's better than wasting your time trying to get a kill or two while he's taking everything because you don't want to look like a quitter. But no, I don't think players should be banned for this. It's not as if they are your monsters. You just happened to occupy the world alone. For all you know the 113 might have been hopping from world to world because players with cannons took all the kills.

Barrows - Do you mind the degrading?
The only people who would have a problem with the degrading are people with OCD and people who can't afford the continued cost. Both of which are perfectly legitimate reasons. When I was a rather newbie member I bought full Verac as soon as I had the money and stats. It was foolish of me, not only was it about 6m at the time but I had virtually nothing to pay for the degrading. So I had to continue hallying blue dragons until I amassed a sum of a couple million so I could pay for the recharges and all my other needs besides barrows. Towards the end of my members career (over the summer) I had Full Verac, Dharok, Guthan, and Ahrim without the staff. I had 48m to spare. So the recharging was nothing more than a slight annoyance that I had to occasionally go get it recharged. But the cost was't too bad. You shoud only buy barrows if you've got plenty of cash leftover to spend on degrading and other expenses. It is a common mistake of newer players to buy barrows (or any item for that matter) as soon as they can and spend every cent they have on it, only to realize they have no leftover cash for recharging, emergencies, supplies, etc... I feel sorry for anyone with OCD, trying to use the Internet efficiently must be torture. I had a friend who just couldn't go to Wikipedia or other databases because he had the urge to click every link when he got to the main page. Barrows in Runescape is just another pain. There really isn't anything you can do about it, I guess the only solution is to find an alternative item set. Maybe save for bandos or buy full dragon if you need to save some cash.

Why eat/pray at all? (Honest Question)
If everyone agreed to stop eating and praying, it will simply lead to players thinking they'll have the upper hand if they do. Then we'll have pkers carrying food because the rulebreakers carry food, and in turn the leftover pkers bringing food to fight the food-bringing pkers. And so we end up with -- what a surprise -- everyone using food again.

PvP worlds not entirely thought through?
I've noticed that in every PvP thread people are saying how it's perfect for skillers, etc. Basically, the skiller's wellbeing comes before the pker. Whatever. Anyway, I don't think there would really be any reason to recycle these items. It helps stop the price of rune from dropping. If rune goes up and up, it will simply lead to more smithers training to smith these items.

MUST WATCH: UPDATE: Holland considers virtual theft a crime
Ifthe kid was threatened with a knife, isn't that already a crime? Whether he threatened him over pixels or a real life cookie, it's still an armed threat. I don't see why a law is needed there for the specific case of item hacking, and although I do say it might be a useful law with no visible downsides, I do say that this particular incident didn't really need a law.

Teleporting Cure-All
HOly Crap you wasted 5k, that is alot!!!! OT: THe pvp worlds are fine as it is. It gives skillers a little fun and it makes the pkers happy. Just because you can't ko someone before they tele, doesnt mean the update is bad. I can go on and on about how it adds up. Screw it, I'll say it. It adds up. If you're lucky you'll find an honorable player who will go all the way in a fight. If not, you'll have to deal with teleports or runs almost every fight. In f2p it's especially difficult, bind barely helps a warrior and is too short, and teleports are impossible to block. That wasted 2-5k per fight becomes an aggravating cost, not to mention the time you put into a kill. PvP worlds aren't meant to only give the skillers fun. And the pkers are certainly NOT happy that their target gets away every time with a single click, and the only way to combat that is to get teleblock or go into the lv 20 wilderness where a clan or high level player can easily murder you.

PvP "safing"
In p2p safing is perfectly reasonable. There are way too many trick shows, uber finishes, and powerful hits that make it very easy to die below 1/3 hp. I'm a f2p'er, I don't safe because my opponent just runs from me. If you ask me, that's the best way to solve the issue. If you dislike how your opponent plays, leave the fight. Good luck being a successful F2P pker if you safe because you're opponents will run 90% of the time. If my foe safes, I just say "nice safe" and run. No need getting in a debate over honor and fairness and stupidity.

The Mainstream
I dispise metaphors unless used sparingly and wisely.. Not entirely sure why, but it's probably because lazy speechwriters use it to sound smarter by comparing a current situation to some other situation or object in life. Your thread is ok, but I just can't stand that the entire dang thing is a set of metaphors. If this thread is mainly about mainstream music, then it might as well be moved to the music forum and the metaphors removed. Direct threads are easier there. As for everything else considered mainstream well... I might as well stop being a criticizing fool so much and actually contribute. I like to fit in, but when I want to express my own opinion I'll do it. I hate people who follow the social caste/naming system: emo, jock, preppy, etc... I'm a kid with a life of my own, not one of those words. Sounds cliched, doesn't it?

"No God" adverts to run on bendy buses in London
I'm a Christian, but honestly I don't care if buses have signs like this. Anyone who converts religions because the bus said so is an idiot. Now if it's accompanied by anti-god protests then I'd be concerned, but the freedom to practice religion isn't just in the US, so I can't really do anything about it. Oh well. I'm not going to let bus ads interfere with my faith. Of course some people will be offended, that's perfectly natural. These bus ads are basically saying every belief in a god is wrong. As for me? I'm gonna get on with my life. Not that the people offended are wrong, because I am annoyed by this as well, it's just that I know that fighting it is a hopeless case. It's just bring a bad name to theistic religions when we protest.

Why do you pk?
I still have yet to get a good kill  I usually mage because when looking for a team clans always want mages, and the fact that it's my only decent stat for my level. I carry along full rune because the mages always get piled first and I'd probably need to switch armors. One day I decided to try my hand at 1v1's. So I was by the northern varrock alter and a 113 comes and attacks me (I'm a 107). He was a little beyond my comfort level because I was still an inexperienced pker with noob skills (my str is only 86) so I walked to the bank. I decided not to waste any food because I thought I could make it to the bank in time. So I did make it to the bank, but I didn't know there was a 10 second rule before you were safe. So I was really low hp because I didn't eat, and the guy kept pounding at me with his scimmy. The bank was crowded so I didn't notice my hp draining so I casually walked to bank. At that point my character suddenly dropped dead and I came back in Lumbridge. It took me a few seconds to realize what happened, then I felt really ticked that I didn't notice. Then I felt even more ticked because I had been skulled and lost everything: My rune armor, 100k worth of runes, and a full invent of swordfish that I didn't bother to use because I thought I could handle it. The price didn't matter, I have 42m to spare, but the fact that that guy got such an easy kill from my own ignorance just put me off for the rest of the day.

Why do you pk?
When I quit members, I sold all my members things and ended up with a sum of 48m. After buying full sarah for f2p and a large supply of runes, arrows, and other f2p supplies, I decided to become a pker. I mean, it's not like rich f2p'ers have anything better to do than murdering other rich f2p'ers...

Noobs say the funniest things!
I think the stupidest part isn't just his failed attempt at a fake hack, but the fact that he put it in the Future Updates forum :wall: I might gave posted this a year or so ago, but I don't remember. Anyway, this happened last summer. I was a member back then and was hallying blue dragons at the Hero's Guild. So a level 60 comes up to me and asks what my weapon is. I tell him it's a Dragon Hally. He asks how to get one. I say you have to beat Regicide. He asks me "who's regicide?" :wall:

Dragon Platebody "in game" picture?
Another thing that a release of a d plate would bring is.. would there be a corrupted version available? And would it be available to free players? Just thought I'd bring it up. Might be interesting, but then again I do not want to see thousands of players spending 500k to own a powerful plate.

new robin coming soon?
Maybe it's one of those things that jagex puts as a teaser, but this time it doesn't lead to an update just to cause misery amongst angsty rich players waiting to buy one.

Multi Site Steel War Aftermath - Done - READ FIRST POST!
Stormrage, I think it was a really bad idea to wear full white to the war. Not only did you stick out like a sore thumb to pkers, but it was easy for enemy warriors to see who's a leader and kill them first. Good thing you survived, your chat would've been insanity. Before the war, I made it my job to protect the monestary for tipiters to pray and heal. I admit, out of boredom I attacked a tipiter or two, but I didn't kill em or anything. I needed a steel set. I regret it now, I look like the bsers I was yelling at during the war. :wall: Didn't get any kills, but fun nevertheless to scare off the pkers.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Which level is the mile high club? It's been a while since I played. Is that the bonus level thing with all the glitchy colors and you have to rescue the VIP? That level was pretty fun.

Multi Site Steel War Aftermath - Done - READ FIRST POST!
It's starting to irk me as to how many people are ranting about the lack of organization. We had several hundred players -- 4 clan chats worth, with a bunch of extra cc's by unknown tipiters who wanted to be leaders but really just screwed things up. But remember guys, we're a fansite, not a professional clan. I'm sure that for many of our eventgoers this was their first time in a major war, they didn't know what to expect, and wanted to be the frontliners. As soon as a leader lept over the line, everyone flooded over and sprinted to the battlefield. But there was no way we could avoid this. Even the most professional of clans cannot handle controlling 600+ players with firm discipline. People seem to say there should be a sign up or more organized cc's. Frankly that takes way too much effort on the organizer's part. I mean, they have to sift through a list of 600 people, divide them into chats and organize generals, make sure the generals understand everything so they don't lead 20 people to an enemy clan, be vigilant of spies signing up, and in general just keeping 600 people as organized as humanly possible. I mean, does anyone else think that that's just a little unfair to the organizers? Bsing happens. People get bored. I hate it, you hate it, everyonr but the bser hates it. But what can we do? We can't stop it before it happens. And when we see two green capes fighting eachother, we don't know who's the bser. An above poster said he was 1v1'ing a friend. That was a pretty stupid thing to do, wearing green capes during a raid and fighting eachother, naturally everyone's going to think someone bsed. And it didn't help that a lot of the eventgoers, particularly the lower levels and first timers, had a bloodlust for steel. They wanted to profit so badly. In a steel war, it's very hard to profit. You should forget about that and have some fun. There were people piling known teammates in hopes of a steel plate or rune scimmy, there were people chasing down targets miles away from the battlefield because they wanted the kill so badly, not realizing they were wasting their run and had to walk to the battle and miss the fun while they were gone. Overall, I'd say tipit did a dang good job at trying to keep hundreds of players (a lot of them being greedy, bloodthirsty, partypooping, or inexperienced players) under whatever control they can. The only way it could have been better was rehearsing it for months and months to make sure it was right. And if you ask me, that's a little too much effort for a steel war.

reality tv
Big balls. I hate most reality shows. Ones with comedy are ok like Wipeout and I Survived a Japanese Game Show. But ones where they just mess with people's emotions for controversial television is just ridiculous. There used to be a show on Fox called Unanimous, where a dozen contestants were locked in a room with a million dollars at stake and couldn't leave until they unanimously decided who gets the money. Stupidest [cabbage] ever, all it became is "I have kids, i need the money." "No, I'm in debt, I need the money!" and the money decreased by the day so they just yelled at eachother more for stalling. Those kinds of shows are inhumane and stupid and I'm glad Unanimous didn't have a second season.

Multi Site Steel War Aftermath - Done - READ FIRST POST!
Yeah, I'm thinking that in the next war we'll have a few alliances between the smaller sites, and possibly a "everyone against tipit" type thing. I mean, our community at the event was massive.

PVP: To pray or not to pray
I have no problem using the 15% prayers (I'm a free player) but I don't use protect prayers as much. Sure, when I'm getting piled I pray. It's not really a fair fight when there's 3 of them and 1 of you. But in 1v1's? Nah. I couldn't care less about honor, it's the fact that if I pray, then they pray. My attack and strength aren't that good for my level, but my defence is above average. So I don't get hit as much as a player my level, so there isn't a need to pray. And if they pray on me, then my low attack and strength prevent me from hitting that much. The whole "honor" thing for prayers is a load of [cabbage], I'll use a cliche here, prayers are meant to be used. If you don't like the rules your opponents fight by, run away from them. Another reason a lot of people don't pray is because they know their opponent will run.

Tip on brawling gloves....
You're right. Now that you mention it, you'd get massive exp there. Thank god these things aren't tradeable, we'd have a lot more maxed stat players.

Just came back to this game...
Welcome back, it must be an awesome feeling to leave a game and come back to see it amazingly improved. You probably have a lot of catching up to do (a lot has happened in a year) but it is amazing. Everyone is impressed by the awesome graphic updates Jagex has done, from minor monster updates to the massive HD work. It's rather impressive.

Here are some facts on PvP Drops...
This seems like a contradiction. First it says your drops won't increase if you wear more than the minimum, then it says the value you're risking is an important factor... As for 1/3/4 itemers, I agree that they're horribly noobish. I think we should remove the protect items prayer all together and have it so if you die, you lose EVERYTHING. I'm tired of those nothing-to-lose players who annoy the real pkers with futile food-wasting attacks. 1-itemers are players most prone to bsing, pjing, and other cheap tactics because they don't know how to pk for real nor do they care. Pking should be more honorable. The fact that we have hit and runners, 1 itemers, pjers, etc just makes pking seem stupid.
