  1. Hold your horses, we're still debating the credibility of this picture. The only way of withholding the name would be to claim that the person is banned. Very fishy tbh....
  2. Then why is the content 13+? One book. Honestly I don't know what to say. I'm quite amazed that the guide was advertized, however could you give me the link? I really want to check it to avoid jumping to conclusion. Read it, it's still a ridiculous extreme. What exactly shows otherwise? Congratulations for pulling that off, now I'd like to see what that was all about  . But if this is article is about the time before the 13+ rule then the problem has already been solved, the parent must accompany the child through the steps and therefore can shield the child.
  3. Nope, sorry, I did not, it was a quick response kind of thing. And considering that I can now speak to the author of the article, I will look through it and come up with some more coherent arguments. I believe that it's overreacting to fuss over small details (e.g. the scene with the guards talking about getting killed over and over), I will defend such elements of comic relief. But when it comes to legalities or issues concerning the content, the 13+ rule is pretty much specifically designed so that people cannot debate the content of the game exactly like the article. Saying the game is aimed at 12 and under. That simply isn't the case but if you can find some notice that explains that jagex, not only intends for the game not to be 13+ but specifically targets pre-teens then sure go ahead. Also, the 5 year old player is obviously a ridiculous extreme. And that, I believe, is not true. Which advertisements are explicitly made for pre-teens? how can you demonstrate that this game is made for pre-teens? Expect some more detailed and coherent arguments in a bit.
  4. All skills 60+ is great, 100 cb is great, karamja diary is great and total level is .... well... OKish. Sorry, I've seen better totals. Ah what the hell, overall it's 8/10
  5. Corrected. Nice one, too bad it wasn't Dragon platelegs. Might as well. Grammatical errors are way more serious than the use of slang/abbreviations (he didn't even do any spelling mistakes). Stop making corrections just so that you can get back at him. It's getting annoying
  6. Nice choice on all skills 70+! I like, and of course good balance so 8/10 Very neat green outfit, me likes (if only you had the matching partyhat) 9/10 Bank is decent, has everything you need in an organized fashion 7.5/10
  7. You, sir, have some very weird tastes to say the least. 0/10 Too simple AND color-clash gives you 1/10, then you gave a bad cropping so it's 0/10... Seriously? It looks like you just threw together some random items. How can you guys expect to get a date in runescape if you dress like that
  8. 6/10 A little too simplistic but it all fits well together. Perhaps go for some blue elegant? or what's that blue and white outfit that seems to look nice no matter what you wear it with?
  9. Yeah, that is a good quote. I sometimes hang around in banks wearing my pink dwarf skirt and yelling, "Need bf/free stuff!" One time I got a free bronze sword that way, but most times it doesn't work. Maybe the moustache or bald spot give me away. Well that certainly shows that the "geek" stereotype which fails at social skills let alone dating sure has some truth :XD:
  10. I said it would be hard to find a replacement for alchemy, not that it's a problem :P Ok, then that was my paranoia I guess :
  11. Although it may simply be my adolecant nature, I absolutely hate this over protectiveness that leads family members (particularly mothers, hence the name "soccer moms") to make such outrageous claims. Basically just looking for problems where there are none. It's a 13+ game too, if they don't want their kid playing it, then it's their responsibility. This isn't the first time either. It ruins the fun. In the dub of naruto there was such a fuss over some censored nudity (wasn't even animated), which was only for comic relief. In the latest megaman, apparently "Killerman" is offensive and was changed to "eraseman" (despite the guy looking like an assassin). I mean what's wrong with saying kill? It's not even a swear word! The 5 year old thing just decreases the credibility this "educational" discussion of runescape because it shows they obviously didn't bother finding out that the game is 13+ You can incorporate them as long as you give credit, if you don't then you are plagiarizing and that is not such a good idea. Excuse me? You're openly insulting the entire community because we don't let you get away with plagiarism? Sounds to me like you need to learn some respect not only for someone who gave you a *reminder* to use quotes but also to the community as a whole. EDIT: Ok it seems I can't trash the article completely just because some of it's facts are wrong. Here's a description I found particularly amusing Funny description, although the author is trying to use this as well as some examples of "bullying" to say that kids act like they otherwise would do normally and then blames Jagex for letting it happen.
  12. Somebody didn't read the "Behind the Scenes November"
  13. Depends what you believe, Thanks, and I don't have any actually. I have written some forms of guides however : .
  14. They don't know what they are talking about, the hourly exp rate at granite exeeds iron. There's also a "switching" technique used to mine one, and drop the ore while you mine the second one. Exp rates are about 45k exp per hour, not too bad, but it requires 100% focused attention and that is the real challenge. Wear desert robe bottoms and boots and Varrock armor 3 as top (if you have, it will help, if not then just desert top). Desert clothes pretty much double the length of your waterskins and with the switching method you only need 2 inventory spaces for the rocks so everything else can either be waterskins or runes for humidify.
  15. More like "pick a number between 90 and 99" You can only get 1 kill per trip solo though, but the setup is the same and it's more important to have high defense. No, soloing any of the bosses can be done (multiple times even for zammy boss) WITHOUT maxed stats. Soloing the bosses EFFICIENTLY is what cannot be done alone since a 3 man team can get more kills than 3 people soloing.
  16. I know you didn't, that's why I pointed it out. I'm aware that there would be many less moneymaking methods, and anyone who got far enough to see my post would theoretically have also read yours, along with its prediction of catastrophe, but thanks for pointing it out :P The bottom line is that when Jagex created a game where people would be making hundreds of thousands of finished skill products, they knew that there would have to be something to do with them, since obviously one player with 99 fletching could practically supply yew longbows to everyone who will ever use one. This topic seems to be going alone the lines of "what would happen if Jagex removed alchemy from the game?" I think a more realistic approach would be to focus on what other possible methods of taking finished skill products out of the game there could be (armor/weapons breaking irreparably, a more practical selling-to-NPC system, etc). I guess what I'm asking is why do you feel the need to stop inflation when inflation isn't even close to being a problem.
  17. There was such a time Merchants exist because their service is demanded, it would theoretically be impossible to replace them without re-designing the entire market system.
  18. From my formula As Rebdragon once said, your need to justify yourself creates doubt.
  19. Here's a reply I posted to some idiot complaining about merchants, I've taken the part (with editing) where I explained the service that merchants provide: Generally the ignorants who don't like merchants either don't know it, in which case it's a "fear of the unknown" syndrome. Or they think they know it, in which case it's a misconception. What I don't like in this thread, however, are the people who say that merchanting is easy because all you do is stand in one corner and buy/sell. The cyclical argument can be used against skilling as well, because you just repeat a certain number of steps over and over again. Skillers will obviously tell you that it's much more than that, same is true for merchants. Actually, we have a demand for their service (hence why it is supplied), so no in fact this game was designed for merchants. Quit making baseless claims  If so, then Skilling is not a skill, it's just basically doing repeated actions to gain exp? Obviously not, which shows the horribly flawed logic. By the same flawed logic you could claim that basketball takes no skills, it's just throwing a ball around. Merchants are in the game, you just aren't willing to accept it. More like you hate them because they don't actually play the game the way you want, which basically shows how what an egocentric ignorant you are. As for this whole Drama about "merchanting will be completely ruined by GE". I agree that merchants could possibly be hurt or at the very least affected by the great exchange, but saying they will be ruined is just another exaggeration. Also, there is no guarantee as to what might happen because it all depends on the structure of the GE.
  20. nope, and none of those explanations really convince me much.
  21. 1. already been answered above 2. already been answered above 3. from 81 is saradomin brews. Before then, possibly super restores. The problem with herblore is you need a high amount of money to start off with. It's all about which potions sell easily. 4. For Hunter, red chinchies. For runecrafting, Astrals at 82, then ZMI at 90 then hireing nat runners at 91 onwards (and for mid levels it's pretty much the abyss because you'll want cash). For crafting, green d hide BODIES (they alch for a price close to the cost of production. For mining, it's granite (with varrock armor 3)
  22. GWD has hard-to-get items but insane value to compensate. Dks have more sustained profit if you're not into doing the roulette with GWD.
