  1. Meh. I often pay with pre-paid cards so i'll have it regardless. I might use it for lulz just like i used the ornate katana for a day. If the tone was a deeper green it *might* have been worth it to people who want to look like some sort of ork or goblin. But i guess you would need more ugly facial features like tusks and such for that to work. Inb4jagexsletsuschangeourcharacterracefor10bucks.
  2. I would guess Inspiration for combat. If you think about it, the .2% would really add up over time in terms of percentage of special recovered per minute. But overall i think it would have a minimal impact on DPS with things like slayer tasks. But then again, anything does. Could have more use in PvP for maybe an extra spec. It would go away once you died though. And you would have to get it back. Vampyrism would be nice. But then again it's completely outclassed if you have soulsplit or an EE(Heck, even a yip). Jack of all Trades might be the best choice.
  3. Jagex has investors that look out for the most short-term profits. So the game has pretty much stayed stagnant as far as bots whilst borderline real-world-trading updates come out almost bi-monthly. Dicing and staking still reign supreme, etc. However, there's still enjoyment to be had in the game in various places. The best thing you can do is subscribe for a month and see if you like it.
  4. This is true right here, i never had thought of it. Though doing Dragon slayer with 1 defense would be hard in F2P. But if you managed, the exp would get you around 38(I think that's the number from level 1) defense, enough for addy. And the quest is required as a Zerker for Barrows gloves anyway. So you're not ruining yourself by doing it. I'd suggest getting 40-40 melee stats, and have someone wait outside the lair with another inventory of swordfish; you'll need them. But then again, you wouldn't even need to do the quest to gain access to the maze. However, the defense levels would help a lot.
  5. All of the above locations are swarming with bots. Try something not very practical; It might not be as good EXP immediately, but you'll end up getting a better rate due to the fact that there's minimal/no competition. Try something like dwarves, or my personal favorite, the Fortress guards outside of the Black Knight's fortress. They are one of F2P's best-kept secrets. I've NEVER seen anyone train there and it's basically like training on normal guards(and it makes just about the best range training spot if you shoot them from ice mountain behind the oracle).
  6. Can you personally confirm this? Because not only a month ago i could have confirmed that they do in fact grow in your bank. I remember specifically because i would have them in my 4th tab, and they would automatically place themselves in the main tab once they've fully grown into saplings, causing me to look frantically for them. Unless it's changed recently, this would be false.
  7. Deathcon 2? Doesn't this sound familiar to anyone who's into harder styles of music? I sure caught the reference. Especially with the spider sporting the DJ gear and everything. Wonder what Jagex's reason is for calling out this festival? And the Domination tower sounds fun. Might give me a reason to finally grind out 96 summoning(Is praying that familiars are allowed). I also found this update similar to an anime i watched recently that's based off of an old arcade game. But i doubt it's a reference, just thought it was funny Xp All in all, looks like a good month. An i just noticed i kinda' went crazy with the links in this post XD
  8. It's true that the SSH is a huge advantage. But in a fight against two maxed accounts out of daem, one with 40 def and 99 str, vs 45 def and say around 95 str. The 40 defense account would have a slight advantage. However, don't forget all the advantages that being 45 defense gives you. You don't have to pick and choose between barrows gloves/turmoil/vengeance/hand cannon(The more useful ones are obvious, but regardless) you can have all of them at once on a zerker. It's just a nice feeling of closure ;) Don't forget you can always get 40 def and 45 later if you want the extras.
  9. Ignore people on this forum who talk about maxing your main. Most don't understand that a lot of people make pures to add a different element to the game  Yes they are fun, but maxed turmoil/chaotic/rune pures are more common then you think. So you won't pull ahead in PvP unless you pick on people without chaotics/non-pures. Other then that it's pure luck and skill. There is no ideal build that will guarantee you kills. Because if there was, everyone would bot it, and everyone would have it. Plus if you don't want to get torn apart in clan wars/castle wars you better have some serious hybriding skill to keep them focused on healing instead of damaging you. If not that, then that you're best off making a 70 def tank. Anything beyond that i think it too close to a maxed main to justify spending time on training. But then again it's up to personal preference.
  10. Nope. You must smoke moar(Sorry. I just saw topic title without subtitle and lol'ed). With your levels you'll be able to do Ancient cavern fiends, however not chaos tunnel fiends. Take a saradomin sword on crush(If you already have it, otherwise a Zamorakian spear as it's cheaper and roughly the same in terms of DPS) and black hide top + bottom. Besides those 3 items just your normal gear.
  11. In a larger team perhaps void is useful? I've only been to corp twice, somewhat welfaring both times. However void maintains decent magic defense while giving good offense. Other then that Karils is pretty much standard. While Virtus is useful for the increased brew restoring. And yeah, statius warhammers are the best thing you can spend your money on. However i believe the warhammer degrades 1 minute each time you equip it in combat regardless if you unequip it before 1 minute has passed. So this gives you a max of 180 special attacks(with special recovers) per hammer. I am unaware if a V spear or a Z spear is better due to the speed and strength bonus issue.
  12. 99 defence. Giant spiders... Are they in stronghold of security or am i high? Yes, that's where they are. However deadly red spiders in the varrock sewers are a close second.
  13. - Money talasman(Bought from the shop in ape atoll) - A set of bones from the monkey you want the greegree of(Note it matches the monkey exactly. Big and little ninjas/zombies, bearded and non-bearded gorillas, etc).
  14. What kind of tank are you talking? Range or melee? What defense level do you want to stop at? There are a few tank options. A range one with 80+ def and low(Around 70 each) attack and strength as to not become melee based. Or a melee tank with 80+ defense and possibly 80+ attack and 99 str. You could also make an anti-zerker with 70+ defense, 60 attack and high str. However I've never played around with the thought of one of those. If you decide to be a melee-based build, you've just added about 150M to your costs to become maxed. As you'll need turmoil to PK well and of course chaotics, so that's a time investment. However range builds only need 74 prayer to have their best prayer. And it doesn't take as much dungoneering time as a chaotic. But a chaotic crossbow would be a big plus(30 range attack over a rune one) and would require roughly the exp of level 86 dungoneering for both. Providing that you don't buy anything else. Another downside is that you will need 70 runecrafting to be effective in dungoneering. Since the only decent ranging method is a Hex, you would have to have 81 mage and wind surge with a CSB. Also another downside to range tanks is that their defense is a [bleep] to train. You're stuck with 70 melees training it with a whip(Or a D scimitar/brackish if you're not quite 70 melees yet). However if you're only getting to 80 it's not too bad. Zerkers are by far(In my opinion, others will certainly disagree.) the most fun to train. I have a level 110 active battle pure, and a inactive level 76 rune pure. I'd advise making a rune pure with Defender of Varrock done first, and if you want more quests done or to become a zerker, then get 45. However due to updates(Turmoil, chaotics, rampant botting, free trade bringing dicing/gambling/etc) if you're PKing at 90+ combat, you must have turmoil and perferibly a chaotic to PK effectively. And if you're PKing over 80 combat, you'll need vengeance too. 1 def pures are boring. Get 60 attack, 52 prayer, grind to 99 str, range, and mage. Go to PvP, whine about everyone else who has a rapier(Unless you get one yourself. Then whine when you get smited for it), whine when people tele because they don't want to lose 30k in a fight. Rinse, repeat.
  15. I mainly brought it since it's just light-weight rune. But that's a good idea if i don't need to tank; just do two SC games to recharge it. I do plan on kiting the 360s since i can do it more effectively now(New computer + wired mouse with slightly faster response time) then when i did it on my main. Edit: Fun fact: The range attack of rune platelegs + black hide top is exactly the range attack of green hide top + chaps.
  16. Srsly tho. I only have a quick question for any zerker that has done fight caves(Semi-recently). I want to attempt them, this is my setup: I'm a bit worried that i don't have enough brews/prayer restores. I plan on claw + venging then rapiering jad w/o killing the healers. I have 80 attack, 96 str, 90 range, 50 def, 90 constitution and 95 prayer. Think this can be done? Or should i just take it the old and slow route and range him(Possibly range all the way though the caves if the melee gear + pots and veng runes take too much space)? And if my prayer/healing isn't enough, how can i improve my setup to include more brews/prayer restores?
  17. Well i guess I'm due a little update :P The parts for my computer came in last night, and with a few hours of carefully reading instructions and putting it together, she booted up on the first try and i was able to install Win7 flawlessly(Almost too flawlessly. I was expecting karma to smite me with a huge spark and fry all the internal components). Ever since then it's been running smoother then silk ^.^ @cheeky If i start getting blue screens and such, then I'll worry and find out what it is. If it's my ram, I'll take my computer offline until i get some more for it. But as of now, my Ripjaw RAM is running fine with both my processor and my motherboard. Also, the RAM i got is slightly different then yours. That could be due the reason why it works. My processor and i imagine my motherboard are also different ;) @Doomster I didn't catch that myself. But then again the parts are already ordered and of now are put together and the performance meets my expectations(Even surpasses them in some fields). And with this build I've already accepted the fact that if i want to make any major changes(In the event that my computer's specs are outdated to the point where they can't support most games on reasonable detail) i would have to replace just about everything. But for now, my computer works great and i love it. I'd just like to extend a big thank-you to everyone on the forum to helped me out with this computer. I was sent multiple builds(Over the ~year that i've been trying to get this done XD ), and received general advice that really helped me understand a bit more about computers. Thanks!
  18. Fast SC games last about 12 minutes and you get an average of 20 points a game(Most of the time more, enough for a bonus tool every ~7 games). It's up to you to decide if it's worth it after that.
  19. Being awesome. That's the best use :D But on a more serous note, go through your daily scaping' routine. Having a yak is essentially having the ability to bank any item you want, and also an extra 30 invi spaces to work with. It can be useful for almost anything and everything. Someone in my clan mentioned how he almost always has his summoned since he got it since it's so useful ;)
  20. We've provided evidence that bots can read capchas, while your "argument too solid to argue against" has provided no actual proof that bots can't read capchas. If you saw the way bot clients and scrips work and had any sort of knowledge in the scripting field, you would be able to tell that it would be easy for scripters to work in a algorithm to crack capchas. Be it a week or a month, it would only stop current-dated bots for a short amount of time. After a while they would be back up to full strength with nothing solved.
  21. My best suggestion would be to learn to TD. It's the only solo boss(I use that word lightly) i can really think of. And it can bring in decent cash if you do it consistently. I personally have them unlocked but haven't tried them yet. But i hear after some practice you can get pretty proficient at them.
  22. There is a lot of debate between rapier vs cls at graardor, but i think CLS wins by a fairly significant margin. At least a kill or two more per trip, and definatley worth the inventory space (assuming you bring rapier to kill minions) There's no debate. CLS is better than a rapier against Graardor, and rapier is better for minions. All of this information can be found on another site. *cough* Another site. I c wut u did der  It has been confirmed that the CLS is better on Graardor. But the question is how often you do bandos. If it's fairly often, then I'd say go for the CLS. But Rig and CCB is better for ranging, but that's specifically for Nex and Tormented demons as far as bosshunting. And you wouldn't even want to use rig on TDs as far as i know. In your situation, i think the CLS would be the best to get.
  23. Like others have said, since you're a low slayer level, you'll be facing off against monsters with hardly any defense. For which reason we suggest steel darts. However, while you get a higher slayer level, you'll want to use a rune crossbow with plain sapphire bolts(Cheaper and slightly stronger then mithril bolts) and switch to broad bolts when you're 55 slayer. Reasoning behind this is because as your slayer level gets higher, the monsters you face will be higher leveled and generally will have higher defense too. You'll be able to tell if you need a crossbow as you fight the monster. If you're hitting too many zeros on them, then it would be time to think about switching to a crossbow. Also, if you have void + a deflector, use it. If not, then buy a focus sight and use it. Void without the deflector is marginally better than the focus sight due to higher bonuses, however this is only on low defense monsters. But if you have a deflector, it becomes better on all monsters due to the accuracy a armadyl/black hide body would give you(I am 99% sure of this, someone correct me if I'm wrong). I personally have range slayed on an account a while ago, and found it pretty enjoyable. It's a good break from the "ol' slash n' stab em' dead".
  24. No they can't. They solved runescape classic ones because they were runescape ones and each had its own ID and there were only like 100 different ones at most. A capcha system would have millions of different possibilities and would be external so no bot could detect it by an known runescape 'ID' as they do now. You provide no discussion or debate value if you just make an obvious suggestion and say "It'll work and if you say it won't then you're wrong." Trust us. If it worked, Jagex would have done it. Or rather if it worked, jagex wouldn't have removed it(Fatigue system in RSC). You see spam bots on every type of forum with a capcha; even TIF. Capchas are just a measure to keep them under control because it stops the cheap ones. Even if it was external like you say, doing that would be an inconvenience to ordinary players and botters would find a way around it eventually. As they always do. Cheaters found a way to bot before IDs, so they would be able to overcome this too.
  25. RAM will still work (hopefully) if it isn't on the QVL, it just means that it hasn't been tested as it would be impractical for the motherboard manufacturers to test all RAM on their motherboards. Chances are it will work. That's a non motherboard-specific warning about 32bit windows, nothing to worry about. The only way to find out 100% is by putting it together and trying it. (TOPIC STALKING POWERS ACTIVATED) Thanks for the response. I've actually been doing research and have been coming up with similar answers. Which puts me at ease, considering when i saw that line of text on the RAM's page, i was about to bash my head into a wall repeatedly. And i think superstition and negativity from thinking my RAM wasn't going to work affected how i read the line on the Mobo's note on win7 32 bit's limitations. Because as i read it now, it's much more clear. *edits OP* If worse comes to worse, I'll put it together, get some sort of error, isolate it, and solve it. Even if i need to send some parts back :^_^: Optimism.jpg
