  1. Since summoning is heavily combat-related, perhaps some charm-dropping monsters could also drop varying amounts of spirit shards, much like coins?
  2. I know I posted before, but I just remembered something. I use Firefox's 'save previous session' feature, so the only time I ever open a new tab is when I know which page I want to go to. My home page really only serves as a tool for getting to another specific site, so it's obviously going to be a search engine. I love that 'save previous session' feature.
  3. Wow, you're getting really close. 1.7m exp can't take that long, can it? Good luck with the last few tasks :
  4. Congrats on those 3 99s! Good luck on those last (few) summoning levels - unless you feel like staying two levels off :)

Those ads are the only reason Jagex can afford to run an f2p version of RuneScape.

I gave up on slayer when I realised that, by level 70, I'd made pretty much zero profit. Now that I know how frustratingly unprofitable it is even past 80, I don't think I'll be training it anymore. I do like the idea of only getting slayer-specific drops while on task, though. As long as it's only monsters with a slayer requirement, I'd love to see it implemented. Or, perhaps you can only get the drops when you're either on task or have a slayer level >10 over the monster's slayer requirement?
  7. Firefox has a speed-dial-esque extension which works just as well. I just use plain ol' Google.
  8. They're updating everything now. Strange, didn't they just do an update? :|
  9. Hoorah, finally I'll be able to save me from myself!
  10. I think you need to go up there for a quest, or something. Perhaps One Last Favour? I can't believe I'm about to say this, but... Perhaps Jagex assumes that if you've finished the Shilo Village quest, you wouldn't mind losing 35gp.
  11. Brilliant guide. I'd start firemaking right now if I didn't have so much homework. Never knew the G.E spot was so effective, I'll give it a go. Thanks a heap for the guide :
  12. I just made about a hundred terrorbird pouches, but I'm at a loss as to what I should do with them. Which skills to they help with the most? Oh, and are the scrolls any more effective than using the energy spring in Oo'glog? Thanks.
  13. I really do hate farming, and it's because of a few problems with the skill. First, it can take hours to see the results. Sure, plants can take years to grow IRL, but you don't gain exp for growing them. I know this makes me mentally inferior to people who like farming, but I can live with that ;) Second, the disease system. I hate it. I absolutely loathe it. There is no reason to punish a person for planting a herb seed then going out for a while instead of constantly worrying about it. If Jagex wanted to make farming realistic, they could have just raised the grow-times significantly, and that wouldn't have worked well either. Growing plants in real life isn't exactly the average 'scaper's idea of fun anyway. Third, and perhaps the most minor - leprechauns should be able to sell farming equipment. I hate banking because I forgot to re-store my spade. Those are my points, rip them to shreds.
  14. On the holidays I go to bed at 2-3am, fall asleep an hour later, then wake up at 1pm in the afternoon. During a school term, I usually sleep about 6 hours a night. Probably something to do with anxiety, or the fact that I can't stop thinking about stuff. Although I am moving half an hour closer to school soon, so I'll get half an hour's extra sleep in the morning.
  15. Sometimes I stay up quite late and don't want to go brush my teeth, since it would wake my parents. That's about it, really...
  16. I'm not certain, but I'm assuming it would have the same restrictions as the macaw's long-distance view ability. It involves flying up high, so it makes sense that it can only be used in a big, open space. I guess the GWD is a really huge cavern, or something :|
  17. Because you're going to be standing still for so long, you should replace the explorer's ring with either a recoil or an archers ring. To be honest, unless you're a very efficient fight-caver, you're going to need better equipment or stats. If you could runecraft for a few hours, verac's skirt and karil's top would really help. Then a step up in price, verac's helm is a perfect balance between prayer and defence bonuses. If you can't afford a fury, go with a holy amulet. Also, get a finished unholy book if you can. Keep in mind that you're going to be praying for like 1 hour, so you need all the prayer bonuses you can get, without sacrificing too much ranged power. At your level, I'd go with 3 ranged pots, 6 sara brews (you'll only use these if you mess up on the 360s, the 90s really aren't too much to worry about if you can stack them properly) and 18 sup restores. Good luck - and don't expect to get it on your first go. I mean, you might, but you'll be doing a lot of learning in your first run.
  18. Only camp there for charms or combat exp. If you're hunting for a d chain, you will go insane. But yeah, great exp otherwise. If you have bones to peaches, barrows armor and around 80-80-80 stats, you should be able to stay there forever, theoretically.
  19. PC. There's a reason the GTX280 alone costs more than a PS3.
  20. 1 - Runes, teleports (Law rune) 2 - Herblore, farming (Clean guam) 3 - Ores, bars, gems, jewelery (Rune ore) 4 - Slayer-specific items (Slayer gem) 5 - Summoning, pets (Summoning pouch) 6 - Weapons and armour (DDS) 7 - Fishing, woodcutting (Harpoon) 8 - Miscellaneous (Rubber chicken) Hrm, I could really use two or three more tabs.
  21. Well, gaming does take very good reflexes, and forward-thinking. Plus, being able to stay at your peak for a long time is a mental and physical strain. I don't really see how an fps is any different to target shooting, really. In fact, Olympic shooters are using a virtual duck-shooter-esque game to train. I'd say that pro-gaming is a form of a sport.

Either a rock star, or a level designer for, I dunno, Crytek? Oh, and I love skydiving. But an A-level license costs like $3000 to get. Heh, I'm so naive and idealistic.
  23. "Hmm, I'm thinking of buying WoW. I think I'll look at a few reviews/gameplay videos on youtube! Oh, what's this? Runescape is HD now? Hm, that might be a better option, I'll have a look at that..."
  24. Rawr. I didn't do a HD one, because isolating an anti-aliased image is a nightmare.
  25. and yes he does he has new weapons and items By your logic, runecrafting should be considered a combat skill, since you can earn money from it. I haven't earned any money from slayer, so why do you assume that I'd have better weapons and armour? It's a non-combat skill. Slayer only gives you the knowledge on how to kill certain creatures, it doesn't magically make you stronger against them. Combat skills are skills which improve your combat prowess. For example, strength helps you hit harder, summoning lets you fight alongside a familiar, prayer allows you to use the gods in combat. Slayer, however, will not help you in a duel, or when fighting General Graardor. Your combat level is an indication of how dangerous you are in a fight. This is particularly evident when looking at summoning. It's a members-only combat skill, so when you enter f2p, your summoning levels don't count towards your cb level. This means that at bounty hunter or clan wars, or when showing off, people know (almost exactly) how much of a chance they'd have of beating you. The combat level system is, of course, flawed, and pures abused that; Jagex just didn't want to make it any more flawed. So yeah, slayer is definitely a non-combat skill. Herblore gives you the ability to make super strs, but it doesn't go towards your combat level.
