99 fletch>99 str (str is really overrated)
I don't really think a 99 can be judged simply by which skill it was achieved in. 99 strength achieved along with a reasonably high slayer level is obviously more impressive than the same level achieved by AFKing at the bandits. Similarly, 99 fletching done by buying the materials then selling the bows isn't as impressive as fletching logs you cut yourself, and stringing the bows with flax you picked and spun yourself. Of course, in the first case you'd have to take into account the player's slayer level, and in the second, her woodcutting and crafting levels. A skillcape only shows that a player has a level 99. It doesn't show how the 99 was achieved.

Fire cape vs Skill cape
Out of curosity, where did the 100k number come from? :? "About", and "at most" should have given it away. I have no idea of the exact number, but I can't see there being more than 100,000 fire capes.

Fire cape vs Skill cape
I'd say there are about 100,000 firecapes at most, and that's the number of just the cooking and fletching capes combined. Skill capes.

Average Level 99
I'm 115 combat, with no 99s. My highest skill is about 92, and that's only because I think it's a useful skill. I don't plan on getting a 99 until about the 1900 total milestone, because I don't really see any reason to get one. I'm quite happy with my firecape's prayer and defence bonuses, and it looks pretty. On the other hand, I know a level 3 with 5-and-a-half 99s, one of them being agility. He likes getting 99s because he gets bored if he's not working towards one. I don't, I prefer to train random skills in a relatively inefficient way. It all comes down to the player, and since there are something like 2 million members, that's a lot of players you're trying to define.

At what level is a skill considered "high"? Combat effects?
Tbh a lvl 3 with 85 slayer would be much more impressive to me then a lvl 3 with 99 runecrafting. Yes, because slayer is usually trained by using combat. That's obviously the exception, so either you're unbelievably thick, or you're just trying to annoy me by arguing something which was implied. Most level 3's are new players? That is why pure skillers are supposed to be cool (and once upon a time they were), because level 3's are NOT supposed to have good non combat skills. A level 3 who has been playing for the same amount of time that the level 100 has. That was also implied. :wall:

11 November 2008 - Stealing Creation
Hm, when I transformed my second helmet into a mage hat, it turned into a mage bottom instead of a hat. It can't have been a mistake, since I only had 48,000 points. Strange :| Edit: I tried to transform my original hat. I now have 3 pairs of legs and no helmets. Again, :|

At what level is a skill considered "high"? Combat effects?
A level 3 can train woodcutting at about 27/28ths of the speed that a level 138 can (wielding the axe). I know a skiller with 99 agility and thieving; those are noncombat skills that are impressive at level 3. But fishing? Nah, a level 3 can get into Shilo. Hunter? Not by a longshot. I'd say that the impressiveness of a level depends on the skill in which it's achieved. 99 cooking is not as impressive as 85 slayer, but 85 slayer is not as impressive as 99 runecrafting. Now that I think of it, shouldn't a level 3's noncombat skills be higher than a level 100's anyway? They haven't spent time getting about 13 million total combat experience, so they would have been skilling in that time.

Stealing Creation Score System, Tools, Resource Distribution
The only thing I can use level 5 clay for is a level 5 bow. And my ranged level is 75, not 80. My fishing level is above, 80, but I can't make a level 5 harpoon... It's all a little strange. Does anyone know why I can make the bow?

Probably best to leave this minigame be for a couple of days, actually. There'll usually be two or three people in the lobby doing emotes, and thus preventing the game from starting properly. 1 minute until game starts... 2 minutes until game starts... 1 minute until game starts... "All members of the other team have quit, so this game's length will be one minute."

11 November 2008 - Stealing Creation
Firefox decided to crash about 5 minutes into my first game, so now I have to wait 15 minutes until I can play again. Seems like a strange design choice...

Barrows - Do you mind the degrading?
I only really use barrows armour for slayer, and that involves going to my POH, recharging prayer and teleporting to another slayer area. So I usually just repair my armour every time I get a decent number of coins on a task. It's never gone beneath 75%, apart from when I camp at the dusties. The cost of repair is just like the cost of potions, or a bunyip pouch.

Barbarian assault question
It's probably a better idea to kill as many as you can, since they might get stuck, and you'll have to deal with them while the queen is out - and believe me, that really annoys the healer, since you're nowhere near the healing spring, making it almost impossible to win with one healer. ...So yeah, try to defend properly.

best monster to camp at
I usually get 60k/hr when I'm not paying attention, not potted and not using like 10% strength. My offensive stats are roughly the same as yours, so it really depends whether you want to get fast exp or become a Google Reader addict. And of course, the dragon chain thing all depends on luck. If 20,000 people camp at the dust devils, one is probably going to get it on their first kill. And one will probably get it on their 20,000th. It's not a very mathematically sound analogy, but it is depressing. I've done around 15k kills with no chain, which seems about right.

GWD: Bandos gear
Ok, thanks for the help guys. I'll definitely take a ROL, mostly in case I get piled by the minions. Do teams usually get annoyed when you tele out because you're about to die? The verac skirt + d'hide body seems to make the most sense, as I'll need the mage defence. I don't think I'll risk my firecape, and a fury doesn't seem worth the 2.5m I'd stand to lose, but apart from that everything looks fine. And the strategy is simple enough. As long as the mage and melee minions both hit me for like 25 twice in a row, I should be fine. Is there any need to pray if Graardor is dead and the three minions are all piling me? I'm guessing mage or range prayer would be best.

GWD: Bandos gear
I'm looking to a few godwars dungeon trips, probably Bandos since I'm a beginner. I've been a couple of times before, but I was using ranged. There's no way I can afford a godsword, and my stats probably wouldn't be suited to soloing, so I'll probably be looking for a team. I've got most of the general stat requirements - 70 prayer and summoning, 90 defence and 115 combat - but I have no idea which items to buy. My actual stats: 81 attack 83 strength 91 defence 75 magic (defence against the mage minion, I guess) 75 ranged (useless) 70 prayer 70 summoning I have about a 6m budget, so which items are more important than others? Pretty much every thread in the RSOF requires a godsword, but surely a whip would be moderately helpful... Right? Of course, that raises the problem of actually finding a team. And am I likely to ever actually find a team, seeing as I'm a beginner? Everyone had to start somewhere, but even I wouldn't want me on my team.
