  1. In case anyone is wondering, I made the fireball thing myself.
  2. I quite like how this turned out, thanks for the great collab Jason.
  3. First of all, if you make a signature, always try to use colours from the render in the background. You can try to recolour the render to fit the background later, but that usually makes the render look unnatural. The next step is getting some depth into the signature. Try using multiple layers of smudging/C4Ds/filters (not recommended) and/or blur some parts that you want to look like they're further away and sharpen the foreground/focal. Creating some contrast between lighter and darker areas can help too, making the edges of the signature darker using a black gradient can work pretty well. Also, you should (almost) always blend the render into the background. You can do this by smudging/erasing (with a soft round brush at lowered opacity) some of its edges, don't go overboard though. And try to stay away from text effects/funky colours, usually a more simple font and smaller text looks a lot better. Just some general advice.

Yes, it does look quite bland and boring IMO. I'd definitely get rid of the text (or at least make it smaller/use a better font) and the yellow thing/red on the right. It needs a more interesting focal point too, the C4D you have currently could work as a background but needs to be spiced up quite a lot.
  5. Well, I could give C/C on these and tell you how to improve, but I just don't think you would be able to do something with that feedback unless you get a better program first. From what I've heard PhotoImpression is really bad for making abstract/render signatures and Paint is obviously not the way to go either. Try Gimp or the Photoshop demo instead, yes those programs might be harder to work with than what you have currently but I can almost guarantee you it will be worth it.
  6. I still really like your style, it looks great. Good job on the drawing, the letters are nearly perfect, although I feel the p is a bit too blocky.
  7. Just saying, you can open/edit PSDs in Gimp.
  8. I'd say version 1 and 2 both look fairly icey, although the strict judge Thru might not approve. :P Anyway, I prefer version 1, but I don't really like the blue hair (assuming that's what it is) in any of the versions.
  9. Well it's pretty good, but I think you need to move away from your current cracked, slightly busy background style. Also, you might want to erase some of the C4Dness off her face.

I like the background, but I agree about the thingy. Also, maybe get some moar colours from the sprite into the background. Looks good though.
  11. Yeah I'd redo the big planet, and maybe give it some more texture too. I like the small one though.
  12. The smudging itself looks pretty good, but the black space is just... boring. :-? The blending is decent, although it does look like you just lowered the sprite's opacity.
  13. #1: I'd also say this is one of your bests so far, still problems with shading and colouring though. The linework is pretty good, though the lines should be more straight in some places. Sometimes a ruler is your friend, don't over-use it though. #2: Same problems as previously really, I don't see a lot of improvement on anatomy to be completely honest. #3: Still problems with the colouring. #4: Slightly better, has some potential. The head is at a weird angle though. #5: Looks ok, not sure what else to say.
  14. They're alright. I wouldn't really call them photography though, more like snapshots. Anyway, I like #3 the best.
  15. Me please!
  16. OMG, that character looks so realistic. The anatomy is just perfect.
  17. Oh hi. 7.5/10.

Looks good, the effects, blending and colours are pretty nice. The text isn't bad either, but I'd move it towards the render (so to the left) and down a bit.
  19. Haha I know, that's why I added them. :twss:
  20. Come on, looking at the date first before you post somewhere is not that hard.
  21. Looks good. I don't really like the scanlines and colour scheme though, but other than that I'd say it looks very nice.
  22. I agree with Julius about the blue swoosh, I think it's too overpowering. Overall, I'd say it looks ok, but I dislike how the splatter brushes on top of the render are the only type of blending.
  23. The colours are better here, but I agree the render is kind of lost in the chaoticness of the background. I think the signature needs less yellow and more blue too, if you take a look at the render you'll see there's actually not a lot of yellow in it, but more blue, red and white/grey-ish. You're improving though.
