  1. Huh what ? I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was simply repeating it ... for no apparent reason. QFT in a way ? :?
  2. I always have a HUGE problem with people who say things like this. I admit that it is entirely true, but he was a delusional megalomaniac and a disgusting psychopath. The horrors he allowed to happen... they're incomprehensible. Maybe it's because I'm Jewish, but I just can't imagine this making sense to anyone. It's like me going up to someone's house, lighting it on fire, and then shooting them as they run out, and then saying "But other than that I've been pretty nice to them..." That aside, he WAS a brilliant leader and should be recognized for that. No matter how megalomaniacal his speeches were, the less Anti-Jew ones are compelling and really suck you in. The Holocaust was also able to take place partly through Joseph Goebbel's genius propaganda technique of "The Big Lie," where the propagandist simply repeats a massive, audacious lie over and over and eventually the public will AT LEAST start to believe it. Hitler was also extremely non-specific about his "ethnic cleansing" until it was too large to conceal. By then, however, all of Germany despised the Jews, largely because of Goebbel. Let's face facts, it was a brilliant system that was extremely successful, but it was used wrongly beyond belief. It's a pity Hitler was so blinded by his delusions, otherwise he would've been a perfect leader. Look nobody enjoed the pogroms or the stars or the etc. But the thing is you are acting if it was perpetuated by Hitler. Anti semitism has been happening for over 5000 years. And Goebbel was a [bleep]wit with a few bad ideas, namely Kristallnacht. He was "impure" aswell. He pulled Germany out of a recession, galvanised its people and mitigated any internal threats. Goebbels as I mentioned before was a [bleep]wit. Also, I totally understand what you mean. I've got a few Jewish friends and also my neighbors are Jewish. QFT

  4. In the grand scheme of things - no. To help you get your ego trip once every 4 or 5 years, then yes. However voting as a concept is good. And is worthwhile. Freedom of expressions blah blah blah. All that cal. It's funny because on its own an individual vote doesn't mean anything, unless you want to be all pretentious and go ooh ahh, it gives me my freedoms, anyway, as I was saying. Also its only how the vote tips in favour of the elected that actually matters. I don't give a damn. Maybe I'm saying it wrong. OK. One vote is insignificant. Unless it tips the balance. What if a certain party was the equivalent of some hard right wing "thing" and yet everyone voted for them. Even though it wasn't "right". Again voting is a process determining what is good and bad, all all shades in between. However it is a raw and blatant numerical value with little to no siginificance to the value being conveyed. Socrates debated this before he died. Socrates was judged and prosecuted, and out voted to die by about 20% of the voters in the court, if I remember correctly. So yeah.

[hide=For Wongtong] Allen KEY ? No. An allen wrench. http://images.google.co.nz/images?q=all ... =en&tab=wi But supposedly Allen Key and Allen Wrench are the same thing so we're both right :P [/hide] You know I just did that for the lulz. But yes you are right. Drop it !!! Drop art. Your teacher is a bearded devil in disguise. All art teachers are. Denziens of HELL !
  6. [hide=Image and Quote] Must I post a facepalm ? Those "motivational" books are [cabbage]. The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People can go screw itself, and so can all the others. Also, if you have not already realized, these people are not your friends.

Read some Poe short stories today. Edgar Allan Poe is [developmentally delayed]ed. It's a love/hate thing with him. His stories just drone on endlessly, pointlessly but he is a master at the use of language so yeah... The Third Sunday makes you want to :XD:
  8. cigarettes make you look cool? sense when? You need to watch more good movies. Watch some Tarantino, or some Crime Noir. or Film Noir. Or Something by Welles. The Third Man is good. Can buy some offline from IWOOT. There are some concerns with the chemicals within the actual cartidge and also in some places it is being advertised as a "health alternative". Various governing bodies are looking into this. I got an article somewhere... I would try this. But I dont smoke anyway. :|

  10. Your "teachers" are tools. [hide=Some of you MAY find this offensive]The holocaust aside [yes I know how ridiculous that sounds] Hitler wasn't a bad leader. His party was a law abiding party that in the big picture did many good things for Germany.[/hide] Short and very vague response but if you want to take it up with me please PM me.
  11. Mine was always 8:55 to 3:15 Morning Classes - 8:00 to 3:15 Morning Class + Afternoon Class - 8:00 to 4:00
  12. you ever jaywalked backwards? Aw hell yeah I'm gonna try that out. I hate people who jaywalk, maybe it's my inability to deal with "cool" people or my inferiority complex but I wish in the middle of their jaywalk they get hit HEAD ON by a speeding car. Tobacco. Marijuana is an automatic expulsion, and harsher punishments. A ropes course is a physical outdoor activity that requires you to work as a team and "respect" each other to overcome numerous obstacles, generally made of or involving ropes. Things like climbing, moving through holes without touching certain points, etc. 10 days in Australia for external suspensions. It's illegal for them to assign us school on weekends, we need 2 consecutive days break. Marijuana is illegal here.
  13. Actually those examples are proof of evolution shown by the fossil in the opening post not creationism. [bleep] me, why can't evolution just be the how and not the why? And people need to stop taking evolution so seriously. It made pandas, the real [bleep]-ups of nature. When I'm in a bad mood, I pretend I'm writing for Cracked. Anyways, it looks like a velociraptor with a knife through its foot to me. Not really a link between whatever mammal-monkey thing before it and whatever mammal-monkey thing after. What is your obsession with Cracked ? I mean I read from time to time, and yeah their photshop contests are the sex, but lately it's been degrading. Getting less funny. And with the velociraptor thing - no. Just no. Also, let me clear some things up for you guys, which you may or may not have already known. Posts such as this A fish can't grow legs. Populations, not species, evolve (be it through micro/macroevolution). That's such a weak argument. Every argument I ever heard looks for changes in one single generation. What about tadpoles? They grow in frogs with legs, but they don't have legs at birth. imply, either intentionally or unintentionally that evolution occurs over night, with randomly occuring limbs shooting out of various places. Or maybe secondly, animals, for example giraffes that streched their necks to reach leaves handed down streched necks to their offspring. No. Physical characteristics are NOT hereditary and thus cannot be succeeded. It was more like, there were several species and types of giraffe with necks of varying lengths and those with longer necks survived due to their abilty to access food, etc... allowing them to reproduce while those with shorter necks died out. This is a long process. "Evolution" in it's current sense is distorded. More like continous, ongoing and naturally occuring selection.
  14.  Besides the ones mentioned above I'd personally do a few things. Say a really lound ding or ping or some such annoying noise whenever someone gets on of off or the elevator starts or stops. Secondly pretend to be the concierge within the lift, opening doors and whatnot, with bad miming skills.

Yeah man, and when girls get raped it's their fault too, if they don't wanna get raped they shouldn't drink or dress provocatively! Blaming the victim  Are you seriously comparing a crime on the scale of rape to a person being used for grades? =D> You use equally outlandish and awkward analogies when arguing with Robert, all in the name of "logic". Just thought I'd point that out. ;)

Since AS has already been explained, I'll outline a bit of AP. AP classes (Advanced Placement) are basically College/University courses that are available in High School/Secondary School and are typically taken by Juniors and Seniors (16-18 year-olds). At the end of the year, AP students are given the option to take the final AP exams which are what actually determine whether or not the students earn their College/University credits in the subjects they're testing on; the course work throughout the year is just for preparation. To earn the credits, the students have to pass their AP exams, which are graded on a scale of 1-5 with a 3 or above being a passing score. It might seem easy enough, but only about half of the students who take the exams are able to pass them--and I mean that literally. The exams over each subject are different, of course, but they all conform to a similar format in general. Each exam lasts for 3-4 hours and includes approximately 75 multiple-choice questions and six "free-response" (essay) questions. You can find example problems here, if you'd like to see for yourself. If the site doesn't work for you (it's based in the US and the problems require Adobe Reader to view) for whatever reason, ask and I'll be happy to type a few of the samples out. *EDIT* 'Beaten to it while I was searching through the College Board site. Ah, ok thanks for explaining. So are these taken within school time ? Or are they from external classes. Also I presume Year 10s - Year 12s take them ? Yeah, the movie was GREAT. Special effects hurt my eyes though. :-#

IB ? International Baccalaurate Ah ok. At my school it was done by units. I lol'ed at easy, medium and hard. Do they have better names ? Yeah, Extension 1 Maths [here in Australia] is a prerequisite for many combined courses. Eg, Medicine/Arts or Medicine/Commerce. Usually it involves medicine. So Extension 1 would be like the hard there. Then also we have Extension 2.
  23. Yes, I do agree. For you to review you must have extremist views. Too much acceptance is as bad as too much hatred. And then there are those whose reviews describe the text as mediocore not giving reason why for. Also, I do read several reviews to get a broader picture.

Can someone explain these AP and AS exams to me ? Also, how old are the students that take them. Example questions ?
