  1. If you really want to be cheap about it put a box fan next to your computer, hell take the case side off. I did that for years.
  2. Im just coming out of retirement too so I hear you. Best word of advice is just start playing, pick a quest you haven't done, get back into the swing of things. Hell it took me probably twice as long to 'prepare' for a quest than normal. Besides that I'd glance through Jagex updates.
  3. Looks like a decent setup for a mid level ranger IMO. I mean course if you got the money you can obviosuly update with some of the more rarer equipment. Or what are you looking to due cause a crossbow may (or may not) be favorable.
  4. Just skimmed it but I am never to much a fan of f2p expansions and never have been. Especially in this day when it is so easy to play runescape with cards you can buy at local retailers, etc. Pay for members if you want updates is my motto. The only reason this game stays online is because p2p hope everyone can see that? Anyway as for the idea its decently thought out, not sure I agree on the new armor sets, and why does it have summoning bonus? Did I see a dragon dagger in there as the drops too? Not signed. Sorry.
  5. But the whole part of the various activities and other skills is to tie things together better. To make people venture out and play other parts of the game. I see your point just dont agree they should change this just to make it easier or more convient for someone.
  6. Check the guides around here and other forums. There are probably more 'merchanting guides' than there are of any one other type of guides. But all of them say basically the same thing. The common ideas are obviously buy cheap sell for more. Buying in high quanities in low risk items can provide profits but can take alot of time to buy and sell at a higher price, and can not produce the profits you see fit. The best investing is done once you already have a considerable amount to invest. You can invest in rares when they seem at a realtively low rate, and hold onto them till they raise. They may go up and down but over the course of 180 days definitly a year you will see some pretty intense profits, and it will never really change (unless they where to make them untradable, or something obviously). As said before if you don't have much money to invest in I would work and concentrate more on skills. Skills that can make you some money (even if only a little). Skilling and combat training is really the way everyone makes thier first considerable sum of money. Once you have a few million to tens of millions you would be better off investing. If you already have a 10-20mil+ I still sugguest you invest in your skills and character first, maybe set 2-5million aside and work on investing. The art of merchanting has really change since the introductions of the GE and trade restrictions years back and I witnessed the changes first hand and merchanting is not something you learn and definitly not perfect overnight. In reality you never perfect it because you always take risks you just learn to come out on top more times than not!
  7. Hello, I'm going to start playing again and Haven't played in over two years I guess. I have some goals I will continue to work on and just have some general questions on what to read, catch up on, do, or buy. I hope this isn't a problem, I know old tip.it community was always awesome help so any insight besides a link to a guide will be appreciated unless its a specific awnser though! Thanks. Good to be back I doubt any of you remember me but I had a pretty popular blog pre-forum reset way back when. Part of the reason why I quit! Anyway down to the business. For reference here's some important stats. Attack 86 Strength 86 Defense 81 Prayer 70 Range 88 Magic 95 HP 90 Summoning 73 Farming 80 Slayer 72 Total levels 1656 Has farming become a skill like smithing, crafting, fletching, in that you no long profit or break even or even come close? I was planting trees all the way up to level 80, and now once I've returned seems like seeds are a ton more. Major changes to gameplay? -Did the time you stay logged in change? -Did the hitpoints/constitution change really affect/change much how the game is played? I notice alot of major changes to the words. Nearly everything well well more than half have a desinated activity. Pretty cool idea, whats a few of these mean/do? -Bounty World and bounty world +1 - Skill total worlds - great orb challenge - PVP world - Does tip.it still have a 'home world' for members? HYT! New items, obviously there has been alot thats changed - Whats new that is a must have? I have a bank full of supplies/runes/inventory so basically I have up to 30million in liquid and over 100mil I could change in easy enough as well. Anything that I must have!? (If any of the godswords/armor/weapons I dont need insight on that as I was here for that but anything newer?) What new monsters/training spots should I look into? I'm into slayer (lvl72) and such. Dungeoneering whats up with that? And does it have a higher level limit? Finally what new quests should I look into doing? I have over 125QP's not exactly sure with 119/167 done and pretty well rounded stats (high combats) so most quests are within reach obviously I'd have some requirements to make. But whats semi-recent (past year-two) quest releases that are must have's/do's for their rewards/etc.
  8. Why would you only buy ss if you had 99 str considering SS is a strength TRAINING weapon... #-o
  9. So you'll going to collect 30k an hour while you sleep? Do people read their posts around here?
  10. Kitchen (for more training), alter for prayer restoring, Glory (for teleporting) and portal chambers should be your top priority to be close to house portal. I'd make 2-3 gardens together as the center of your house so you can teleport then have 6-8 rooms to access quickly rather than just 4 (with one garden).
  11. Fly fishing in barbarian village.
  12. That be something, definitly make runescape a little more interesting day to day having to worry about bringing a light source if you want to see extra well.
  13. My thoughts exactly why would you train something to plan on quiting?
  14. For just defense torag for cost/def ratio. Guthans specials nice I dont use it cause i have a bunyip though no need for it. Veracs is my person favorite for prayer boost and its special is very useful in a lot of cases.
  15. Forgot to repost mine after the reset.
  16. Slayers great for charms otherwise there are alot of places just search for a summoning guide.
  17. Yews, mining pess, or monster hunting, or even rcing if you'd like are all good ways.
  18. Mining pure ess would be fast and easy. Very good money for how simple and low level requirements it is.
  19. My point exactly. If you have the stats to wield a GS and have the money to do so I'd think you could be making more than 120k per hour... :wall: On the other hand.. Do a farm run every hour and a half, (100k prof), while loaning out the godsword for 120k/hour (which is 150k in an hour and a half). 100k + 150k = 250k, in an hour and a half, of standing around doing nothing? I'd still much rather be fighting than following someone around to get paid 30k every 15mins.
  20. If they say that all you have to do is trade them. You cant trade other peoples items.. Get it?
  21. My point exactly. If you have the stats to wield a GS and have the money to do so I'd think you could be making more than 120k per hour... :wall:
  22. The higher the better obviously but your alright. Just wear the best mage boosting gear you can to help with accuracy.
  23. Hes not really ready for green dragons... Fishing or mining for money. Why not look over the quest rewards and decide what rewards you want from the quest then work your stats towards that.
  24. We been playing runescape along time lol...
  25. Maybe hook us up with your beginning stats? And are you looking for combat or skill? And are you wanting to make money along the way and or once you reach it?
