  1. You can at least see the animation when activating turmoil. You could probably determine if they're using turmoil or not by seeing what overhead prayers they use or if they are using any leech curses. 94 prayer isn't totally worthless compared to 95 prayer, either. Prayer is actually useful almost each and every level, and it gives combat levels. Herblore on the other hand doesn't give any combat levels and is totally pointless up until the high 80's. Turmoil also isn't 100% better than other prayers, either. Leech curses have their uses, even piety is useful if you have rigour unlocked in normal prayers, while extreme potions are better than super potions in every imaginable way in addition to being absolutely undetectable and give no combat levels. Or, we can just ban turmoil too, if it's sooo unfair.
  2. Ohoho, I remember a few weeks ago when you said that the wildy might be coming back. You and your silly theories.
  3. ... so how is it represented then? Player 1 has 94 prayer, Player 2 has 95 and thus turmoil. Where's the representation of Turmoil? How to I distinguish Player 1 from Player 2 without stat spy or looking at the high scores? The fact that he the gained levels in the process of getting 94 Prayer. It doesn't matter if he can use Turmoil or not. What do you mean it doesn't matter if he can use Turmoil or not? That's a 10% strength difference in high level PvP. And the levels he gained in the process of getting 94 Prayer are there to represent 94 prayer - the prayer points, the increased benefit from prayer restoring items, and the access to the prayers and items up to level 94. I seriously do not understand the point of this argument. So there's a jump in pking power from 94-95 pray. Ok? There's a jump in being able to wield claws at 60 vs 59, gs at 75 v74....not sure what your point is, or how this relates to extremes. You obviously gain CB lvls with prayer, even though you don't gain a level in that one instance, the CB system never showed every single lvl in any CB skill. There was probably a difference having 93 mage and 94 mage too. Prayer functions just like any other Cb skill. I don't really think you can argue that herblore is the same, considering you don't gain any cb lvls at any herblore lvl. [/hide] When you go from 59 to 60 attack, your combat goes up. Not by a full level, obviously, but by a fraction of one that will combine with your other skills to make combat levels. When you go from 94 to 95 prayer, your combat does NOT go up. You do NOT gain a fraction of a prayer level. The combat formula disregards that level entirely. Secondly, 95 prayer is not the only requirement of Turmoil. There's a quest series involved, which includes a smithing requirement. The level requirement doesn't matter because it's the principle involved - a non-combat skill that has no representation in your combat level and quest completion that has no representation in your combat level is offering up to 10% more strength. Finally, Extremes DO require combat levels in the sense Ancient Curses do. Let's put them side-by-side. If you have Ancient Curses, they don't do anything for you until you have prayer. At level 50, you'll get the ability to use Protect Item and Sap Warrior. At 52, you'll get Sap Ranger. So on, and so on. Similarly, if you have Extreme Attack Potions, they don't do anything for you until you have Attack levels. With level 1 attack, you'll get +5 Strength from a Super, and +5 Strength from an Extreme. No difference whatsoever. At level 16 Attack, you'll get +1 from Extreme Attack that you wouldn't get from Super Attack. At level 30, you'll get +2 from Extreme Attack that you wouldn't get from Super Attack. See? You unlock the ability, be it Extreme potions or Ancient Curses, through non-combat skills (and in the case of Ancient Curses, quests). The benefit has graduated requirements for the benefits. Realisticaly, not many pkers have 96 herblore and 1 attack, strength, and defence. Dragon scimitars and dragon longswords also have non-combat requirements. Should we ban them to? No, because they're perfectly visible and their effectiveness relies directly on your combat level. Extremes cannot be seen or detected in any plausible way, and can offer a very large advantage in a fight between two visibly identical player characters.
  4. I think that's an incredible idea! Though there should certainly be a limit, though. If you could take as many items as you want, it would really change the early dungeon game too much. This also gives more of an insentive to play more floors with the same people, instead of doing one then quitting right away.
  5. Not to mention you can actually see these quest items, so you know what you're up against. That's really the whole point of combat levels, etc. Imagine if everyone had invisible armor and weapons, and hidden combat levels. That's what allowing elite level untradable herblore potions to PvP would be like.
  6. I remember when you had to look up prices on a fansite to have any idea what something is worth. That was a pain... I'd really hate it if they remove price guides entirely. It would be a step backwards.
  7. -69 prayer versus 70 prayer -no piety versus piety -no difference in combat level -it requires a quest -ban piety -59 attack versus 60 attack -no dragon scimitar versus dragon scimitar -no difference in combat level -it requires a quest -ban dragon scimitar -94 prayer versus 95 prayer -no turmoil versus turmoil -no difference in combat level -it requires a quest -ban turmoil hurrrrrr
  8. Open your equipment tab. Click the bag with a skull on it. Problem solved, now you can plan ahead.
  9. He still need 95 prayer to use turmoil. If he needed only smithing levels, that would be another story. With herblore, and extreme potions, there's absolutely no way of telling before, during or after a fight if they were used. Several things wrong with that. 1) Telling before and after the fight is easy. First of all, an Overload has a little tell-tale stream of 100s. Second of all, if he potted before the fight, a quick stat spy shows you their CB stats. Third of all, a hit higher than what's possible without extremes/overloads is an obvious giveaway. 2) 95 prayer is not shown in combat. 95 prayer will NEVER have an effect on your combat level over 94 prayer. Not everyone would use overloads, extremes would work just fine. So everyone should carry around stat spy runes and stay on lunar magic? And are you really going to calculate the damage that they could deal with or without extreme boosts? Maybe they don't hit above non-extreme maxes, but they would still hit higher more often. Not to mention the attack and defence bonuses are much harder to notice. "95 prayer will NEVER have an effect on your combat level over 94 prayer" I don't quite understand what you're trying to say there.
  10. But 70-94 prayer is quite a difference (6 combat levels). THAT is why it is represented in your combat level. It'd be nice if hitting certain prayer levels raises your combat level more, while others less. 96-99 prayer doesn't change much of anything. Maybe prayer has more of an affect on combat level when using curses. Likewise, magic could have more or less of an impact on combat levels depending on what spellbook you're using. The whole combat level system should really be revamped entirely. Magic and range hardly affect combat level, prayer give advantages at a strange pace, not just increasing in power directly proportional to your level, etc.

  12. Without these trade guidelines, all hell would break loose. I think transitioning for restricted trade to free trade could be chaotic if there isn't some kind of price reference.
  13. I think shadowsilk hood needs some nerfing. Right now, it's something you absolutely must bind. If you're on a team where most party members have hoods but you, you'll be taking a lot of damage from the monsters that are affected by the hood, because they're all focusing on you. I can't find a shadowsilk hood for the life of me, and when I go on a team with hoods on every head but mine, it makes it very difficult to survive. I don't really want to dungeoneer much anymore because I know it'll be so much harder for me until I find a hood.
  14. The dungeon underneath the Burthrope slayer master's house isn't new. It's for some uninteresting slayer challenge released last April.
  15. Not blessing it. If they come running back to see me waiting patiently for their grave to crumble, so be it. If I were to bless the grave when I knew you couldn't make it back in time otherwise, I'd miss out on your loot. I'd be the one losing something. Sorry.
  16. Hell no, Guthan's isn't needed for slayer. Just a bunyip should suffice, or bring along an enhanced excalibur too, and you shouldn't have much problems with managing your health. You could always bring a few fish along if you need even more healing. Guthan's is outdated, there are much better ways to heal nowadays.
  17. At your level, you should have no problem. Just go with any basic inventory with brews, super restores, prayer potions, and whatnot; void shouldn't really change your inventory too much. I finished it easily on my first try with only about ~80 range and with potions to spare. Bring more prayer restoration than health, as you shouldn't be taking much damage if you do it right.
  18. I don't get how people came to the conclusion that 67 nature runes, 100 silver ore, and other such drops are counted on the "rare drops wheel". Just curious...
  19. Now we don't even need to kill players to brings tons of cash into the game' date=' just wimpy little ghosts. I hope revenants are [b']WAY[/b] more powerful to balance this out. The balancing factor is that the dungeon is PvP-enabled, so what is likely is that you'll have Revenants attacking you along with clans of PKers. Unless a clan of players band together to kill the revenants instead of eachother. Jagex usually underestimates the power of players working together when it comes to game balance. Look at Mobilising Armies, Conquest, Stealing Creation, Soul Wars etc. Where players are expected to be pit against eachother, often they may work together for more efficient xp/h.
  20. I was hoping the removal of PvP/BH worlds would help reduce inflation until... Now we don't even need to kill players to brings tons of cash into the game' date=' just wimpy little ghosts. I hope revenants are [b']WAY[/b] more powerful to balance this out.
  21. After 1350,000 hours in development, hopefully it's been worth the wait.
  22. Slayer. It may not be the absolute fastest way to train melee, but it keeps things interesting.
