Have a few questions about woodcutting before I start training
Cheefoo replied to Intermagma's topic in Help and Advice
Hey, I saw you on War of Legends before, haven't I? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else. Well, I'd suggest cutting willows and banking the logs at Draynor. Dropping would probably be slower, honestly. Yews aren't good experience, or that great for money. Stick with willows for xp on non-members. -
5,000 steel bars: 3.94 mil on the grand exchange. 20,000 cannonballs: 6.4 mil on the grand exchange, plus 128,000 smithing exp. The look on that [wagon]es face when the bronze bars are still in his inventory: Priceless. There are some things GP can't buy, for everything else there's [hide=][/hide] Needs more hats... I've been scammed a while ago in a similar fashion to the OP's. Someone messaged me asking to buy a mithril seed for something like 10m. I didn't have one, but someone nearby was coincidentally trying to pawn one off, how convenient! He only asked for all of my items I was wearing, what a 'steal'! The person who messaged me said he'd come to my world, so he logged out, and I waited. Really, I didn't expect someone on a completely different server to be in cahoots with someone on mine, but I began getting suspicious around the 30 minute mark...

amulet of zealots is pretty good with curses I'd imagine for ranging with leeches? I was hoping to use those +15% leeches with zealot with mage, then I remembered: arcane stream...

Sorry, typo. Meant SS: Spellbook Swap. Swap to Ancient, Lassar Teleport puts you on Ice mountain. Monastery works too but I'm too lazy to recharge them or keep items of multiple charge amounts in my bank. Saradomin Sword? Soul Split? Spellbook Swap? Schutzstaffel? Safe Spot? On topic: It seems decorated woodcutting and smelting urns are "missing"? Perhaps this means there may be upcoming higher level updates to these skills, along with a new higher level urn to go with it.

Merc gloves are good for Nex. ;) 1 more ranged attack than barrows gloves, but sacrifices so much defence, and other offensive bonuses? It's like amulet of ranging all over again, unless I'm missing something.
-
Well, forget it then. Another useless dungeoneering reward to go in the pile with amulet of zealots, mercenary gloves, nature staff...

I was considering buying a bonecrusher and a split dragontooth necklace once I have the spare tokens. I was wondering if it would be possible to slip on the necklace right before you kill a monster/bury bones to get the prayer restore, while keeping on a better amulet, like a fury, for the actual fighting? Because, if I have to wear the necklace 100% of the time during a slayer task to get the prayer restoration, it would be totally pointless to sacrifice a fury's stats for the free prayer points.

It's like Jagex prefers the scammers... Are you sure, though? I know you couldn't alch during combat in the wildy before, but you're saying you can't alch at all? -
Found a fantastic way to make money off of scammers
Cheefoo replied to Intermagma's topic in Help and Advice
They could be wise to your tricks, and just take the money. So I supposed in an attempt to scam the scammer, you've been scammed yet again. Unless you give him chocolate coins wrapped in gold foil instead of actual money, you would have counter-counter-counter-scammed him! Until you later realise those were real coins because chocolate coins don't exist. Just don't bother with scammers. -

Oh boy, first elite clue... Wait, wat. Okay, the picture's messed up, but here's what I got: 1 armadyl plateskirt 1 dragon dagger 1 palm tree seed 1 wasted hour a bunch of other junk The armadyl skirt couldn't even sell for 90k on the GE... I just gave it away to some random passerby. I sold the palm seed for 100k, gave it to some other guy along with the dragon dagger. It turns out he was hacked or something. Whatever... Note to self: alching elite clues yields more profit that actually going out of your way and doing them. -
It's a scam. They say you should give them money, then they give it back double. They have you start low, so you think it's real. Soon they ask for something like 1m, then they just take it and run. It's fun to give them 1gp, you get 2gp back, then give them 2gp, get 4gp back, then you give them 4gp, so on and so forth. They usually get fed up and stop trading you.

So all ancient warrior equipment works like this? So if I equip Zuriel's staff to cast a single miasmic barrage, it will take off a minute from the timer? Meaning I get only about 60 casts of miasmic spells if I equip it, and cast it once, then unequip?

I kinda like the new look... I guess I'm the only one. Garden gnomes look like dwarves to be honest.

Do people really expect that the ashes they're collecting from logs are going to turn into demonic remains?
-
Nope lol it turned into a gnome crystal seed or something, wait another few years for the next quest, okay have fun.

I think the stat resets are something permanent, that you can't pay to reverse. This would discourage people from botting on their main, even if they spend the money to get it back, some of their stats have been wiped, destroying the point of botting in the first place. I think this would have a beneficial affect on the game, honestly. It allows banned players a second chance at redemption at a price, but that same price drives away someone "playing" (botting) Runescape for profit. While this alone won't help crack down on bots, I'm sure it won't make it any easier for them to propogate. If Jagex handles this well, it could work out to benefit the game as a whole. I wouldn't put it past them, they do think things out more than some give them credit for. I agree with you, and i knew that there would be no point in botting after buying your account back. As I'm pretty sure you would be under some sort of watch for suspicious behavior. Thus discouraging it. But i personally believe it's a second chance they shouldn't get the privileged to have. I still stand firmly that if a account has solid evidence against it in the case of botting, it should be permanently banned. But this method doesn't profit, so i doubt the system will go back to this. With how money-grubbing jamflex has become. If it's almost certain that they won't bot again, and they have all their botted stats undone, why not let them back? If they're willing to pay money to get their account back, I'm sure they must really want it back. Denying them that would seem rather spiteful. Since it isn't hurting anyone, why not? I don't see how it would encourage anyone else to bot, I mean they would have their botted stats reset and would have to pay money to get it back. If anything, I would think it would discourage people to bot for levels, as they might look at it as though they have money at stake if they get banned.

They got what's coming to 'em.

The Runescape economy is going under a huge change, and I imagine there will be a number of big shifts in a short time span. Making money in Runescape now seems to be centered more about gold and items changing hands than ever before. People focus less on gathering resources, collecting items for trade, and more about swindling their fellow player out of their money and items in one way or another without really putting anything back into the system. Reminds me of Wall Street.

Remember, RWTing isn't just about profits and credit card schemes. The idea of buying benefits for real money is something Jagex doesn't support. It ruins the fun for everyone who worked for their levels and accomplishments. If it was about profits alone, it would certainly backfire if Jagex really decides to sell game items for real life currency; everyone would quit.

This isn't a "get out of jail free" card. This is more like "paying the bail". If they really want to spend actual money to get their account back, I'm sure they won't continue breaking the rules. They have to learn their lesson eventually, but I imagine after a while, you won't be able to just pay a fine and get back to breaking the rules. Some people get banned for mistakes they make, and regret. Who would it hurt if they're allowed back into the game after they've learned their lesson? The price of buying your account back is more of an insentive to not break the rules. Getting your account banned again is like throwing the money you paid to get it back down the drain.
-
If you really think having a lot of money is ruining your game experience, give some of it away.
-
Sounds like a relatively good idea. Here are a few speculations of mine. Someone who bots for RWTing obviously won't want to pay money to get their bots back, because it would ruin the whole point of getting money from selling items. Someone who bots for levels would buy their account back, but I imagine their stat wipes would still be in affect, so that sounds like a solution. Someone who got banned for scamming, offensive language, exploits or whatever, I imagine would have learned their lesson. But I imagine you can't keep buying your account back after a certain amount of offences.
