So we lose 14400 gp? NO DEAL
-
Same here. I don't know how else to pronounce it, but at least I can spell it unlike some other people. I lol at the people thinking Jagex is trying to make some real world allusions to the Haiti earthquake.

5 hours? Thats 10 kills an hour? Something seems off. Oshmannj, you should probably just go with magic. Fire bolt with chaos gauntlets would probably be better than trying to range them with 60 range. If you don't have chaos gauntlets, I'm not sure though. As long as you have an anti-dragon shield and an antifire potion active, their firebreath can't hurt you if you stay at a distance, so it shouldn't be too dangerous. If you want, you can always skip the task, using slayer points or just going to the Burthrope slayer master.

Someone tell me how you make 1m an hour. I don't doubt that its possible, I'm just terrible at making money, and would really like some advice. 3.5m per 10 hours to recharge the armor sounds fair. If you have 99 smithing, its more like 1.75m/10hrs, which is 175k an hour. That's 10 hours of combat, so it probably won't even cost that much.

It really depends on who you'll be dungeoneering with, and how good you are at it. It's hard to give a difinitive answer.

Is buying memb pins from rwt sites against the rules
Cheefoo replied to ghjkl's topic in Help and Advice
Somebody is selling a banana for 3$ and someone else for 8$. What would you do? I'd buy the cheaper one, obviously. But three bucks is still a lot for a banana... Oh, and about buying membership from some weird website, don't do it. It's obviously a scam. You may save a few bucks, but you may have your credit card stolen, or worse, your Runescape account banned. -
Go with the best dragonhide you can wear, and try looking into getting elemental/body/mind shields and helms. The quests for them are pretty easy.

Magic and ranged should affect combat level more. Someone with level 99 magic and 99 range is equal in combat level to someone with 75 strength and 75 attack, or something like that. If extremes were allowed to be used in dangerous PvP, I think herblore would have to affect combat level. Maybe make extreme potions/overloads increase your combat level if you're under their affects or they're in your inventory, like summoning pouches in PvP/BH worlds. Or, the higher your herblore level is, the more effects you gain from any potions, so herblore would always be counted as part of your combat level, not just because of extremes and other untradable potions.

I think degrading high level armor isn't a very effective way to counterbalance their high stats. At this point, it's more of a nuisance. Taking a few thousand gp off of your hourly profits while using barrows really doesn't make it any more "balanced". Unless the way to recharge the equipment was more based on skill levels or other accomplishments, it seems like a superficial nuisance. Perhaps smithing level could have more of an impact on repairing items. Right now, it only reduces cost of barrows equipment slightly. I'd like to see the ability to reinforce barrows armor to last much longer without needing repair, or even to not degrade at all with high smithing levels. As for Torva, Pernix, and Virtus armor, I can't really say much, seeing as I have no idea how much they cost to repair. However, it's probably more "artificial game balance" to quiet some newbies who think it's "so b0rken".

CSI:Runescape Enhance that picture! Zoom in on that knight's armor... You can see the killer's hand in its reflection! SEARCH DATABASE FOR MATCHING FINGERPRINTS! -
It's like saying, "Don't use food, it takes to long to kill you!"

It's been over a year, hasn't it?

I remember when people would camp out in Dharok's crypt, alching the time away until someone came along. They would try to teleother you to distract you enough to get killed by Dharok then take all your stuff. I always turned my accept aid off when going to barrows, even to this day.

Skills reset, quest progress and items stay? Say hello to 1 defence turmoil+barrows gloves pures.

explorer but i might bring ring of life not sure Stick with the ring of life. Dying there is not something you want to do, it's a pain to get back to unless you can find someone to go in with quickly.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
Cheefoo replied to Logdotzip's topic in General Discussion
I just want free stuff again. -
Ewww, Runehq... Well, arcane stream necklace isn't really needed. The magic damage bonus only applies to one monster, even with multi-target spells. It might speed things up a tad, but I'd use a stole, or something with prayer bonus.

These kind of posts on these kind of threads are probably more annoying than the threads themselves. We all know you have such a strong opinion against players reminiscing we do not care nor does it make you look cool. So if you have come to this thread to complain please get off of it. I for one enjoy reading the posts in this thread. I said I'm not referring to this thread. Maybe I worded it wrong? Not specifically referring does not mean that you aren't including this thread in what you said. Which you have to be because this thread is exactly what you complained about and clearly you care a bit about this kind of thread because you checked it again or maybe you were like "LOL wonder if anyone responded to my wittypost :)" Did I get that about right? I didn't read the whole thread, but there may be some people who fit my criteria on here. I'm mostly talking about how RSOF is flooded with complaints every week, and so many people in game sitting around the GE crying about the good ol days.

14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
Cheefoo replied to Michael's topic in General Discussion
Some people really aren't getting the main goal of the damage soaking update. It's primarily to reduce max hits to prevent OHKOs and to counteract "damage inflation". That's why it only works for hits above 200, because it's mostly to prevent ridiculously quick deaths in PvP. On the other hand, it has much less of an impact on PvM, because monsters rarely hit over 200, and if they do, the amount soaking reduces isn't very significant in the long term of monster bashing. It's really to lower the KO potential in PvP, so people can't drop within seconds of the battle commencing. That's why just because DFS doesn't have damage absorbing doesn't mean it's useless. It's still good for PvM because of its high defence and handy +7 strength. -

Zaros Godwars boss, perhaps? Just because he was "banished" doesn't mean he doesn't have any remaining followers to fight in the Godwars dungeon. -
Is hotkeying a button to a specific part of the screen legal?
Cheefoo replied to ghjkl's topic in Help and Advice
Sounds like it could get you in trouble. Being able to assign keys to certain parts of the screen seems a little sketchy. If you set it up right, you could just roll your finger across the keyboard pressing 123456789, withdrawing a bunch of items, and processing them all in seconds. One keystroke=one action would mean moving the mouse any clicking would probably not be allowed. I'd avoid any programs that would affect playing the game all together. However, mousekeys is said to be fine. It still requires attention and just as much input as a normal mouse, and is available to almost anyone (not sure if Mac users have an equivalent, exactly). -
As some science guy once said, "God doesn't play dice." That being said, even dice aren't "random" as much as they are "unpredictable". If you had an infinite understanding of physics, you could predict how the dice will lie as you threw them. However, since we don't have the ability to calculate a throw of a dice so to such accuracy, it seems random. If something is so incomprehensably complex, it may seem random, but really isn't. In computer programming, the programmers can make incredibly complex sequences to determine an outcome to the point it's so unpredictable, it seems random. Some older games have very explotiable random number generators, while others (such as Runescape) do not. One such game, Nethack, actually has an RNG seed generated based on a clock, and for a while, I had no idea how it worked. I noticed if I opened two instances of the game within one second of one another, the first level of the dungeon would be identical. However, beyond that, I have no idea how the RNG works in that game. I believe, with super computer accuracy and a perfect understanding of the coding, Runescape's random number generator should be exploitable, to some degree. Theoretically speaking, this should be the case with any "game", computer based or otherwise.

In a situation like that, where there's some impossible BS at the start of a solo dungeon, I restart. I've got killed by failing the first skill door over and over again, so I just left, and started over. Takes a good 15 seconds compared to losing a bunch of xp on a death.
