Quite agree, the design is horrible. I prefer the Pest Control system (25 people and the game just starts) or the Stealing Creation system (can start clan vs. clan games & can't join lobby unless balanced teams).

That's Soul Wars I'm afraid, it's very poorly designed.

You can ignore the difference between stab, slash and crush and just focus on 'accuracy' and strength to compare weapons, *except* when fighting Graardor, dragons and waterfiends, and in dungeoneering, and only on high defence creatures.

Soul Elders, Nex Souls etc. You'll have to listen to calls (Red or Blue) and follow orders (Graveyard, Obelisk, Avatar). If you bring some good mage gear you'll be most useful but it's also the most costly (barrage). As ranger you can focus on enemy mages but they'll generally overpower you with barrage + soul split anyway. If you are playing against the chat you are in, you are expected to not attack your opponents e.g. the chat members as added safety. It's common that you can't join the side your chat is in, so you join the other side to get at least 1 zeal.

Battle-mage gloves as well but those require 85 defence and magic I think. I'd personally say that outfit goes well with a katana or scimitar but you can't really get a proper one (as in, not ridiculously oversized).

Good, I'm hoping the upcoming combat rework will take some of that into account. Methinks Jagex just overstretched themselves (back then) trying to balance out two different mechanics.

Ideally you do the last half or third or so large, but since few people do the lower floors large and not many can access a reset with only high occult/warped larges, the compromise is floor 30+ large. But ideally, 28-29 would be large too I think.

It's the fastest xp, be sure to use urns and low-alch those fish (increases fishing xp & bonus magic xp as well). Fishing is just really slow :(.

I lured at the southern corner. Get them stuck a bit further south, you will not aggro any lobsters just standing there.

Aim for the highest strength+stab attack total, any prayer bonus is a nice boost but should not be a focus. Since it's on task, black mask is mandatory, and dscim doesn't have enough stab to hit irons well. They're fairly tough if you don't use chivalry/piety/turmoil and such, but the numbers say that chaos bolt (with the best gear available to him) will max at about 220 (240 if arcane blast necklace would be obtained), while melee will max at some 320 and be 25% faster, so you get 220 vs. 400. Melee would have to have half the accuracy of magic for mage to be worth it. I don't see that happening tbh.

I would personally go with melee - brackish blade, chivalry (you need one more prayer level) and protect melee in proselyte.

You get muted before, but the message shows on login and if you try to talk. If you got muted but were not talking, you wouldn't notice.

Extra bind for elite task set would be so awesome, and really overpowered, even if defeating Kal'Ger was one of the requirements along with all the highest tier skill tasks (since you can pot that's not even that hard).

Daemonheim should have a ring as task reward... is it too late to retcon Lumbridge tasks into awarding an amulet?

I pretty much use Will's setup but with deflector/goliaths and steel titan instead of crossbow, works a charm.

Ganodermic is 100% not worth it, use Ahrim's or even your necromancer gear (looks matter!). Vecna's is useless, row is useless, wrench is ok, flasks not worth it, sol is worth it, tome is worth it if you have spare tokens I guess (but dg xp is technically better to buy).

You'll need two unicorns, so start with one summoned & bring a spare pouch. 3 overload flasks, 3 renewal flasks, polypore staff, eee, Karil's crossbow, ganodermic/max mage with Ardougne cloak and bolt racks equipped? Fill the rest of your inventory with half brew flasks half restore flasks.
