Where? Is that a real place? Hold on, let me get out my magnifying glass. Aha! A European country. On the bright side, you'd make up about 2% of the population, all by yourself.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
He means an irrational feeling that would interfere with his level-mindedness when he's around her. Focus on some of her less-attractive qualities. If you can't think of any, you don't know her well enough. She is just as human as you are, and has just as many faults, if you can figure out where to look.

Most Wanted Sequels
I believe I may be of assistance here. I made the topic, and while I can see how it may have been interpreted as games that are old and never got sequels, I intentionally left it open to the interpretation of the poster, so as to not limit any discussion. If you have sources saying BF3 and KH3 are in development, I would be very interested. I've mostly just heard rumors that were then disproven. Duke Nukem Forever actually has some gameplay vids out. People probably overlooked it because it will be out soon. Albel: I remember Ace Combat, that was a fun series. I stopped playing when I realized I would have to play through the story mode two more times to buy the Falken and be firen mah lazor. I hope they wouldn't mess up the gameplay of Sly 4, as that was really what made those games fun. They were just so fluid and creative, plus the stories were non-cliche. It was a breath of fresh air compared to many other games, and I think that same mindset is what motivated them to not create infinite sequels. But we can still dream. Also, notice how people have been saying "Jak 4"/ a sequel to the Jak series, when there have been multiple sequels. The problem is none of them were really in the spirit of the original trilogy.

Most Wanted Sequels
A real sequel to the old Jak and Daxter series would be great. I haven't been following the series much, but from what I heard it's been sorta lame - nothing really in the style of the original three. Kingdom Hearts 3 would be awesome too, although that's one I may have grown out of. I like how most of the games I used to play on the PS2 have been mentioned here. Games these days just can't compete with series like Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and Kingdom Hearts. The real problem may be that my newest console is the Wii, which doesn't really have any good stories.

4chan DDoS's some anti-piracy sites.
Yes, I know. Anonymous by definition doesn't fit any generalizations. I guess what I mean is that the 28-year-olds aren't the ones staging DDOS attacks, and the whole "power through numbers" thing is contradictory to the idea of Anonymous. Nilfheim: The denial of funding happens when people in developed countries (us) decide to watch a pirated movie instead of buying it, renting it, or seeing it in theaters.

I do not support 4chan. What I see is a bunch of immature 15-year-olds pretending they have some value to the world. They pretend they don't need to belong, but they're flocking into these groups together. Nonconformists conform to nonconformity. I do not support piracy. It's illegal for a reason - you're stealing content that needs to be payed for. If all movies were free, no good movies would be made because there would be no funding and anyone intelligent would stay away from the industry. I confess that I do watch pirated movies on occasion, and a good deal of the music I listen to is on Youtube. When legitimate industries can provide content that's as easy and efficient as piracy, then the websites will die off on their own. Until then, they are breaking the law, and it is stealing, so quit whining about it and start saving for a Netflix subscription.

Paranormal Investigations
I have always believed that ghost stories were made up or hallucinated, because most of them were. That said, it's not something I'm entirely sure of. This thread will certainly be interesting if you can actually show us some solid evidence. My advice: Be calm and rational. If you go in there thinking "AMG let's see ghosts" you're going to be seeing the supernatural in every little flicker of light or scurrying animal.

Most Wanted Sequels
I'm surprised a thread like this doesn't already exist. If it does, and I just didn't see it in the search or the first few pages, feel free to lock this. ______________________________________________________________ The video game and movie industries are infamous for milking any successful idea dry, eventually creating so many sequels that even the fanboys can't keep track of them all. However, there are a few titles that were never fully developed, or were abandoned too early. This thread is for discussing those games that always left you wanting more. The Question: Which games do you feel never got the sequels they deserved? You can discuss movie sequels as well, although it's sort of the wrong forum. ______________________________________________________________ Mine: Sly 4 - One of the best series ever, but it seems the developers moved on to newer stuff. There's some collector's pack of the first three games coming out, but it's not a sequel. There has been no information on whether or not a sequel will be made. Battlefront 3 - I'm probably getting too old for games like these, but Battlefront was my first FPS, and BF2 was probably my favorite FPS for the PS2. There have been sequels, but I think they were mostly for handheld stuff. Apparently BF3 was being developed, but got scrapped for some reason. For movies, I look forward to the next in the Dark Knight series, and and Inception sequel could be interesting.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
Not necessarily in that order  Let's face it, humans suck without our technology. We can't run or swim very fast, have no sharp bits, can't climb or jump too well, and take almost two decades to mature, during which time we are somehow even more helpless. Physically, we got the short end of the evolutionary stick. And yet somehow we became the dominant species on the planet. And we're working on making that true for other planets light-years away. Yeah we know, it's a wonder we're here. Take this to the mind[bleep]s thread! if a needle falls in a haystack in the forest, and no one's around to find it, does it make a sound? Only if the area outside the universe is half empty.

Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
The infinite void appears to have nothing in it. [bleep]ing universes, how do they work? Nobody really knows. Sometime when I have time I think I'll read up on some multiverse theories and anti-matter, but it's a question educated physicists have spent lifetimes thinking about and still not found a solution.

Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
What about your statement? Subjective or objective? Definitely subjective. What if objectivity is subjective? It is. Prove it. The past and future don't exist either. All you have are your memories and your hopes. Hopes are nothing to go on, and memories are completely unreliable. What is anything if everything is nothing?

A pedophile who resists the urges actually has better morals than an average person. We don't "fiddle" children, but we don't feel the irrational urge to. The pedophile, on the other hand, is resisting his/her instincts in a manner one might call "moral". We shouldn't get into the whole morality thing though. Morality does not have any solid lines. These pedophiles could very easily be resisting simply because they fear legal repercussions.

Glenn Beck and a call for religious rebirth
And let old dogs die. The more I read about the Senate, the more convinced I am that it needs some sort of reform. George Washington, upon declining a third term as President, gave three pieces of advice: Limit national debt, avoid getting involved in the affairs of other nations, and don't form political parties*. Oops, oops, and oops. Anyways, the party politics have gotten to the point where there is no real debating in the Senate. Every Republican votes with the interests of the Republican party, and the Democrats do the same. Occasionally, a Senator will give a speech to an empty room and some television cameras. The speech will be written by aides, as will most of the opinions the Senators argue for. Very rarely are there many Senators in the actual room for debating. More often than not they will be in a side room talking to aides, giving press conferences, or campaigning for re-election. * http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/washing.asp

Literature
My 9-year-old brother read The Hobbit. The books I was interested in had to be put on hold so I could read some stuff for school. So far, I've read: Mountains Beyond Mountains - Kidder - It was decent, for a school-assigned book. I probably wouldn't have read it if I had a choice. A Walk in the Woods - Bryson - This one was surprisingly good. Bryson writes well, and there seems to be a good joke every few pages, mixed in with the story and some RFS about conserving wildlife. The Scarlet Letter - Still reading this one. It's not too bad, but it is quite wordy. I believe one sentence had over 80 words in it in the first chapter.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I also am not very confident about my dancing. It's mostly just that I haven't really tried it. I took a ballroom dancing class when I was younger, and while I don't remember it very well, I could probably figure it out again pretty easily. The problem is I just have no idea what to do with myself in these big, sweaty pits of people dancing to music that annoys me. It's mostly because I haven't had an opportunity to try recently, but I still feel like I would look like a fool in that sort of situation. To all the "It's stupid" people - Yes, the music is usually bad. Yes, the people may seem bad. But it's an excuse to grind with random hot girls, and that should never be passed up.

Mosque at Ground Zero
To make generalizations is to use logic. Seeing a group of people perpetuate the same behavior and then expecting it to happen again is using a logical thought process. How else would we gather empirical evidence? Yeah, keep thinking of the most ridiculous possible examples. Now let me try - there's a possibility it will rain tomorrow. Isn't it just so convenient to relate the thing we're discussing to extremely uncommon or extremely common scenarios to make our arguments look better? Usually with this type of thing, we look at evidence. Evidence shows us that living on Jupiter is highly unlikely. Evidence shows us that flying and teleporting are more likely well beyond a human's capabilities. Evidence shows us that religions have been known to use violent/sly/extreme/unethical tactics to combat opposing religions. Now tell me what's more likely. Actually, the Lizardmen are either from Sirius or descended from the dinosaurs, depending who you ask. Evidence has shown us that Americans are likely to blow civilian crap up in the Middle East. Does that mean all Americans are likely to blow stuff up? Does it mean a majority are likely to blow stuff up? Let's try to avoid these silly generalizations.
