But if you watch porn, you don't suddenly want to have sex. Yes, I say that there is nothing wrong with watching CP (cartoon). Actual CP is unlawful to watch because in order to make it, someone would have to break the law, so it's distribution/ownership of unlawful material. It's not wrong to watch CP. It's just a bit disturbing. To those who disagree, explain yourselves. It's not harming anyone, so why should there be a law against it?

Other government estimates earlier said that Cuba had a million in their government that weren't contributing significantly enough to justify employing them. The government just told everyone that in half a year, their unemployment will be 10%. The awful part about this is that by cutting them loose, they're probably going to take away the jobless' benefits, which includes the "super cheap health-care", food and housing. Yes, it's significant layoffs, 450k of these people are supposed to find non-government jobs. That's a 1% projected increase in unemployment, which is much less than what the US has seen recently. I see why you would expect them to take away unemployment benefits, but it's not definite. Whether or not it's probable depends on who you ask. It will probably depend on the success of the layoffs in finding private jobs.

I beleive all cartoon stuff should be legal. This is really just xenophobia from the old lawmaking farts who don't understand the culture. The only reason CP should be illegal is because a minor can't officially give consent for sexual acts. That's not a problem if the minor isn't a real person. For the people who argue that it encourages pedophiles, I would disagree. Neither side can back up this argument with real evidence (hopefully), but I think that a person with sexual urges for children could suppress those urges by watching CP. I read an article a while ago (I forget where) about a guy who got in trouble for having CP on his computer who then had to wear an ankle-bracelet tracking device or something, and had all these restrictions like would be given to a rapist. I thought it was ridiculous, seeing as he didn't actually rape anybody. He didn't endanger society by sitting at home examining pre-pubescent females, in the same way that it's not illegal to get drunk at your house.

No. At least where I'm from, Dream Theater is terribly underrated. same here From what I know, my group of friends and some others are the only people who know them. Wasn't there a Dream Theater song in one of the Guitar Hero games? I think it was the song during the credits. Most of the stuff in Guitar Hero games gets overrated because it gets plenty of publicity.

You succeeded in your objective, but failed in whatever it is you failed in. So the question would have to be more specific. Littleboy, I would like to make a suggestion: Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Masquerain, the philosopher-kings were selected by tests of knowledge and character in a multi-tiered education system. It's like if we were all tested after high-school, and placed in a career area based on that test. And yes, I would say it was more ideal than practical - I believe Plato himself wrote that it was meant to be more of a theory than a real-world government.

I read all of these when I was younger. Alex Rider was probably my favorite. The Deltora books didn't really stand out that much. Is this the Golden Compass/Subtle Knife series? I read these when I was younger too, but I don't remember anything religious. These are excellent reads, and I would reccommend them to anyone who hasn't read them. I remember finishing the third (final?) book and just sitting there thinking, "When was the last time I actually felt emotional about a book?". They were very powerful. RAAAGH. I hated it and once you read it you have to come back to this thread so I can flame it and you can nod and pretend to be sympathetic.

If I'm not paying attention, my ears still remember the last few things that were said so if I get asked a question I can answer. It's come in handy a few times during morning history classes. Heroin will almost definitely need some sort of professional help during the withdrawal. If you got him to try to stop before, you might be able to convince him to go into rehab. The best way to solve this is if he actually wants to go into rehab - trying to force him or getting parents/cops involved will just cause problems. The real problem is that in order for him to want to stop, something bad has to happen, and with heroin "something bad" tends to be really bad.
