  1. He probably thought you were going to charge him 10k or something.
  2. So with these images it might just get implemented on Saturday. But now I have to tend to my fps writhing in agony from those images.
  3. At least Jagex answered this time.
  4. But for major things a friend tells a friend, etc. It depends how big of a deal people expect it to be.
  5. The great thing about being a pessimist is that you're either right or pleasantly surprised.
  6. They've just noticed this? I don't think set vs. component prices have ever been the same. Congratulations once again on not having any freaking clue about how your own economy works, Jagex. <_< Just on the F2P side there were plenty of treasure trail item sets that could net 100k by assembling them, but I'm not seeing the scamming part.
  7. Perhaps it will pretend to be on Saturday night but not go live until some time later. (Monday?) The time for the initial bot nuke did not coincide with the release either.
  8. 1) I'm F2P and honestly, if I started viewing their video ads for every world hop, they would probably make as much effective revenue off me as a P2P player. 2) These ads won't exist if you use the official game client. 3) I don't mind seeing ads but I'm sure those car insurance or tabloid news "discoveries" are bringing in comparatively little. Can't they get some better sponsors?
  9. Something tells me no Runespan if it doesn't even get a teaser image...I mean come on.
  10. As to a), if they know you've ignored their spam message then they also know that you're not a likely customer. As to b), I think it's safe to assume that they expect to be reported. I think you may be overthinking the spammer business model. I think their aim is to keep bombarding you anyway, even if they know you're ignoring it. Why else do I get 20 emails/day of (non-RuneScape related) spam I never even think of buying?
  11. This. Unless they changed it, ignoring only works on one side, which is actually kind of terrible because it means someone can keep trying to talk to you and not know you've ignored them, because you still appear as online. Would be a nicer system if it just changed it to offline, and more useful for blocking the dedicated casual stalker from following you across worlds (that's dedicated enough to world hop, but not enough to use multiple accounts that the stalkee doesn't know about). That is really just terrible.
  12. The number is under 10,000...but is it still over 9,000?! Joking aside, thanks Piu.
  13. I know I can do that to avoid spammers, but I would rather have it on; besides, that was not my main point.
  14. Woot then.
  15. After all, we wouldn't want to hurt their feelings. I don't know if bots are quite at this stage yet, but if you ignore them, presumably your status in their friends list changes to offline. After receiving 12 such advertisements in a period of only a few minutes last night, a thought occurred to me. If the bots are paying attention, they could act on this information by saying a) This person got our private message, so we have a live fish. Quick, spam them with 20 more! (This is happening with SMS spam and many other types when some sort of verification is provided, which is needed because random strings of numbers are generated.) b) This person is likely reporting us, so we better watch out. This could be used to formulate a list of high-risk potential customers. They could then spam messages to everyone on this list and cause as much grievance as possible during the number of hours it takes for reports to be processed, while saving the fresh accounts for new people or for players who appear not to report them. A similar argument could be made for muting them, but that's more of an "out of the frying pan, into the fire" dilemma. So should we just report these bots, without adding them to our ignore list?
  16. It was confirmed (I don't have a link) that there is no new skill for this year but there could be one in 2013.
  17. P2P items have their names displayed on free worlds (was it hidden?).
  18. Am I missing something or is 200m/250k=800?
  19. Oh, is that what happened? I just assumed they kept inventing ways to get through that filter every time Jagex banned a certain phrase.
  20. So is the key issue actually fixed now?
  21. It lowers the reporter's credibility.
  22. So, *cough* it happens. I right click a bot's name in the chat window as it's whizzing by and accidentally click the wrong name. As a result I end up sending a totally useless report and leave the Jmods (if they ever read them) scratching their heads. Forgetting all the immaturity of people with this feature, wouldn't it be nice if we could click undo?
  23. I have set Java to 1GB of memory, I think, and on displayfps it never exceeds 150MB. My FPS rate could be higher, and there is often lag.

I get a few randomly, but I just report and temp ignore and that's it. I personally dislike playing with pm on friends.

Can't you report it to the ICR team or whatever and hope?
