  1. Runescape is now really a PvM game - skills arent needed apart from herblore. A lot of people don't PVM though. And if skills arn't needed then why are raw materials.. hmm? So you think Jagex are purposefully trying to ruin skills? No, but most of the game is tailored specifically for combat. I'm not saying I like it - that's just the way it is. Let's take a look at some skills - Atk/Str/Def/Magic/Range/Pray/Hp/Summoning/Slayer are pretty much all combat skills Farming was made for herblore and herbore for combat Mining/Smithing was from the old days - where getting armor drops were pretty rare, so many relied on these skills to get their armor Firemaking - Other then an easy 99, it looks like to me - the only real reason to level this is of the hand cannon DG - I think we can agree that most people do this for the rewards (in the form of chaotic/prayer/etc) Fishing/Cooking - mainly used to get food for combat (back when the only real other way to get food was to buy kebabs in Al Kharid >.<) Construction - looks like a LARGE amount of people come just for the altars The whole game is tailored more or less towards combat. I think that by providing a lot of raw material - it'll entice people who combat all the time to maybe work on some skills that they've conveniently gotten the resources for. On the other end, it's also an incentive for people to who skill all day to come by and work on combat since that's where you can make the most money [/hide] Obviously the whole game is geared towards combat, it would be silly not to be since combat (in my books) is one of the only fun things, and all games are geared towards combat pretty much. but a lot of people (for some reason) don't enjoy combat, it already is 20x more profitable than skilling, so why make it even more? Please read: The whole game is tailored more or less towards combat. What are you saying? You're not making any sense - Jagex is doing a perfect job of drawing people towards skills that weren't utilized much before. If you already do a skill because you want to - there's no reason to entice you even more to do it - you're already doing it. Your description of primary/secondary skill is kind of dumb. How do you expect them to boost your wc/fishing/mining exp? There's nothing they can do other then change the whole in game mechanic or add a ton of new things. Like you said "if it ain't broke - don't fix it". These skills are fine as they are - there's no reason to add anything else to them. Your argument is very nonsensical - by adding a large amount of raw drops from melee, you claim that Jagex is ruining the skill. If anything, they're making the skill easier to train which is actually a step towards reviving it.

In what other way would you try to equate the skill sets? You can't exactly make skilling more profitable then combat - and there's not much of a way to do it. If you make something insanely profitable, people would flock towards it and just abuse it til it's dirt cheap (case in point: sharks - what used to be one of the best foods in the game has turned into something super cheap). So how do you get people to do it? Mix a ton of raw resource drop in something that isn't going to lose popularity

  4. You're probably better off with void (although I'm not 100% sure) Either way - don't take an obby shield - you don't want negative bonus to range
  5. Lol @ thinking somebody would use a void set for the bonus on task I didn't see that part, sorry. I'd only wear the legs cuz I hear they give more magical defense than Blk D Hide Chaps. I don't know if you're not reading this or whatever the matter is. Use the setup aspeeder posted up A.) If you're on a slayer task - throw on a full slayer helm B.) Try not to go for prayer bonus - you don't save all that much money Additionally, time saved >>>>>>>> money saved
  6. ...what the hell do you need with a tome of frost? Just buy water runes - much cheaper for your time and makes much more sense. Assuming you can get 10k tokens an hour (which is quite generous and that's probably for those who are leveled 70ish running with a good team) - it'll take 4 hours to get enough tokens for the tome of frost. Most people can easily get 1mil an hour (just gathering/doing random things) x 4 = 4mil. That's the equivalent of 200k+ water runes. I can't figure out something that I could do with 200k+ water runes. If you really need water runes - get a mud staff - takes care of your earth/water runes
  7. Lol @ thinking somebody would use a void set for the bonus on task
  8. Can you keep using it? It's not like a one use item is it? If so, that's an awesome drop!
  9. Too bad we cant actually see how many sigils/godswords/etc were actually dropped
  10. Bandos was dropping gear incessantly and 3rd Age from clues too?
  11. Haha, sweet - more sigils dropped in the past day then in probably the past two weeks or so.
  12. True but you're making about ~1k? gold bars an hour (maybe more but if so not much) 1 hour for 25k crafting experience sounds like a pretty bad idea - there are plenty of skill-ing type activities that will lead to (price of gold bracelet: 249 - price of gold bar:143 = 106) profits of over 106 k an hour.
  13. Where are you seeing that? Welovecorp cc had a jagex mod enter in it and tell us all that a rollback was coming in 20min. Yeah, I know, no pic no proof. Haters gonna hate. How long was the patch released for? Trying to figure out how much damage a rollback could potentially cost
  14. Ha, that was still a decent amount of time. I wonder how many sigils got released. RS should keep a track of things like that - how many super rare items get released i.e Sigils/GS/Nex gear Was the glitch exclusive to Corporal Beasts or was Nex dropping stuff 100% as well?
  15. Game has been up too long so no chance. They need to shut it down asap or hotfix it. Maybe make it impossible to get to corp if it's going to take a while to fix. It's been like an hour. That is a huge amount of time when you consider the number of players. That's over 50k game hours, numerous other things have entered the game within that time. If it was within the first 15 minutes and it was a bigger bug (effected more people with more abusing it) then yes a roll back might be needed. The main thing that makes rollbacks unfavorable is the possibility of players having gotten some fantastic drop that would be taken back from them. That's kind of the whole point of this bug. How do rollbacks work? Does everything get rolledback? In games I've played - rollbacks were kind of weird. You basically lost all exp/drops you had received in the time but not what you used.
  16. So apparently - it is 100% drop rate :P GG anybody who was planning on merching that before the update
  17. You could craft some dragonstone rings - if you do it soon enough, you might just cash in on a crazy market.
  18. Where you in the W46 GE? Some guy was claiming that Corp was dropping sigil 100% of the time. Too bad I don't have the stats to do Corp :(
  19. For a task? I usually bring 4-5 + a holy wrench, a cannon set up, black mask, whip, ddef, etc I don't have piety but I don't see the point since the cannon does the vast majority of your damage and the black demons have pretty low defense. I just pray melee defense and let the cannon rip it to shreds With that few pray pots you are better off bringing a pot instead of the wrench Not at all - I don't need the space and I don't need more pray potions. It's not like I'm actually saving any real money but it sure as hell doesn't hurt to have it
  20. Is it true? Apparently - Corp has an 100% sigil drop now :/ I bet RS made it so that row compounds the effect if multiple people in a party have it. I.e go boss with 3 people all with ROW = drops EVERYWHERE!
  21. Why in the world do you need overload/yak to flip?
  22. Will be testing that tomorrow (Or Thursday rather - when I have some free time) Thanks for the tip - here I was busting my back doing trivial things for a mere 100-200k an hour :/
  23. Hmmm so which slayer master assigns tds?... get a scroll of cleansing and wait for herb prices to stabilize. then make unf pots, you can get 2m+/hr EASILY Whoa, wtf - I have no idea why I typed that  What potions do you make? I know I made about 10 mil from buying grimy Cadantine - cleaning them then making the unfinished potions right before BXP week. However, this was not that lucrative (nowhere close to 2 m+/hr - I doubt that I'd make that much with just making the unfinished potions from the clean cadantine). What unf pots do you make?
  24. oh really? fury is universally better than tassets. AND it is cheaper. sorry, but you were wrong. [/hide] lol fairplay :P although id wear a str ammy :o u what? better than what a glory? i no it is. im talking about pricewise though. whatever personaly ill always choose str over fury if im low on money. edit:str ammy has more str than fury? weird. i think i might be looking at the wrong stats when i equip myself but first i go for str bonus. allways I mean think about it - there's a whole reason the fury has a whopping 15 mil price tag while the str ammy is like 5 gp. Yeah, you should optimize str but just look at the god damn difference - by trading 2 str points, you get +10 in each attack style /+15 in EVERY defense style (nice time to sneak some magic defense in) / +5 prayer By your logic - the dragon battle axe is a better weapon then the whip (+2 extra str) but we all know that isn't the case
  25. it's still a useful cape, just not for slayer. it is good for boss hunting like dks, tds, or gwd where banking is more of an issue because bandos + fire cape is better still. I mean yeah, it is but I don't see anything terribly wrong with what that guy said (except for the fact that he has prayer gear but he's not using piety) If you want some sort of prayer bonus - a bandos + sw is almost (pretty much the same) as prossy plate/verac/fire cape
