If a guy does it... er, I dunno, seems a bit weird, or at the least cowardly, and it's kind of asking to get kicked right back. Personally, I'd just go for a roundhouse kick. if i were you, i would take all the honors programs and see how they go. the honors programs at my school go deep AND are extremely fast - we finish chapters in 1-2 weeks; for science classes, that includes usually 2 labs, for math, its usually 1 week or less, for english, it depends on what we're doing. there is very little depth review in honors classes because it takes too long; however, our tests do include items not specifically taught in class. Basically, you have to self-teach yourself these things in order to pass. Yea, self teach. If you aren't taking honors classes right now, i would suggest you do and try it out.

situation A: good style of teaching situation B: as i see it, a set is only one grade. you should have worked harder there are two types of classes: ones that you understand, and ones that you work for. Math and some sciences (physics, for example), you either know or you don't. Its the responsibility of the teacher simply to give tests the other classes are those that you know you have to study for (english, world language, bio, chem, hist, etc.) since stuff like this does not come naturally Its the second type of class that ihave problems with. Not because i fail them, but because other students do, yet they pass the class. And its all because they can just retest their way back up, even in honors classes. It destroys the line between students that should be in that class, and lazy students who think they can get through school doing as little as possible. The teachers are not the problem, you can just drop the class if you really care that much. Its the need to pass everyone that is destroying the educational system

two, actually. A short while ago, my english 3H teacher informed our class that we would have a paper to write on a writer. There were two requirements: the author had to be from america, and his/her should have some critical responses to it (as in, more than just reviews). And i needed two books from that writer. I, honestly, don't read (outside of school books, that is). So, i don't have the slightest clue to which author i should pick. So, i was hoping you guys (the tip.it OT forum) would lend me a hand, since i know (or have seen, by some topics on these boards) that we have some avid readers. I simply need an author and an opinion; to quote my teacher, "this is the only chance this year you will get to read something you like", so i might as well choose from some well learned readers Any opinions is/will be greatly appreciated :)

I'm no teaching expert, but i'm a student, and i can tell you, overheads suck. so do worksheets/busywork. the best way to get something into a kid's head is by giving them the material, letting them work off what you tell them, and then, answering questions. tip: use an example for every point you make. introduce it, then explain your point using your example

well... why would you want to complete all the quests so quickly? the majority of the quests are purposely made to take up time, either by making you walk far (you'll notice, some quests are hard only because they are l.o.n.g.) or making you collect really stupid items. Often, collecting items themselves takes up 1/2 the quest time it would take me about half a year to do all the quests if i were able to.

I have to agree with everything you say (i'm two queens through) especially the defender part. Initially, i just thought all my defenders were complete idiots, but then i tried the role, and realized... wow, this role was soooo poorly prepared. The fact that you have to lure the runners with food just makes it all the much harder. Once something changes, you automatically lose whatever you had. And really, the runners don't go after your food. they do.... 1/4 of the time. In the 3/4th of the time, the food changes, and you have to start over. healing is probably the easiest task. with 2 people, its even easier. If you have trouble, either you suck, or your team sucks. attacking i dont have too much of a problem with. collecting, nothing really. But since the game is a team effort, one messed up role (*cough* DEFENDER *cough*) just slows down the whole team. i was really let down by this game...
