Not everybody takes the gems... cutting gems is decent crafting exp. I do it sometimes, just for the benefit of people, and so that I can get some free crafting exp :D No scamming there...

It isn't gonna stop anyone from signing up at all. It would however be smarter if they made them put the year they were born. Most kids probably won't want to try and figure out what year they would have to put to be 13 or older. I know that stopped me many times when I was younger :P Maturaty level in runescape might go up a little o.O

I have to agree with this. I kinda switch back and forth between what I do. Normally I mine :P But it defenitly is more efficient if you have the right levels.

I just had an idea to improve the borrowing money idea. Because it seems good to me. How about having a special type of gp, that you can borrow from the banks, that is non tradeable, and only useable in the runescape shops? You could only have withdrawn up to a certain amount, and once you reach that amount, you can't borrow anymore until you pay it all back. I don't see any way that people could gain an unfair advantage with that. Maybe you would have to even pay a little extra everytime you payed it all back,so that people don't rely entirely on it. It would help people who have been recently scammed or hacked out of a huge some of money, to atleast buy some runes, arrows, or armour from the shops, instead of having to start with absolutely nothing :D EDIT: It would also be an entirly different item than gp. They could call it silver pieces or something.

I would have to say mining coal... with a high enough mining level, you can get into the guild, and it's pretty easy to go from there. I've tried merchanting, but never really found a good way to do this yet :P After you said mining ess is better than cutting yews, (which I happen to be doing right now... even though I hate it... [long story]) I might consider starting to mine it sometime :) If I can figure out the average time for a trip of yews that should be easy...

I didn't read all 26 pges :P but I really like the idea. If it will discourage newbies from playing, then make the normal bank the default bank, and then you could switch to this anytime you wanted. it's an amazing idea :D
