  1. Just like you told me I grow vegemite plants
  2. Only princesses have been crowned so the answer is none. :o <--- Insert cookie here.
  3. I respect whatever gender someone prefers to be. So long as they are honest enough to tell people.
  4. I found it interesting but I found it even more interesting when I read it the first time you wrote it on the did you know thread  8-)
  5. Everyone has a special talent. Mine just happens to be with human behaviour. I remember one time I did volunteer work with PhD psychology graduates to gain credit for my course unit. We worked with a mentally challenged man who was not allowed in the shower by himself in fear he would swallow too much water. Previously he had locked himself inside and refused to come out. He also wouldn't let people touch him so getting him into medical procedures was a field day. He liked to shake hands with children and this was considered a problem. He also had difficult behaviour to control. The psychologists who had their PhD̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s had enough of him. I, on the other hand thought it was due to the simple fact that the poor man wanted his shower time in peace. I voiced my opinion and they tried it. I gave him a radio timed for 4 mins and he was allowed to go in by himself, listen to the music and enjoy his time and when 4 mins was up my voice came on the radio and said "insert name here" your time is up you have to come out now. He unlocked the door came out and this fixed his mood swings instantly. I also suggested the first ever thing I ever learnt in psychology which is classical conditioning. I told him I would just like to put a bandaid on his finger and he let me do it. Eventually I put a bandage around his finger. Then we moved up to his whole hand, then his leg, we got to his waist in a few weeks time but he didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like that so we moved back a step... Eventually he let me touch his body and get him ready for medical treatment, I then asked the medical staff to come in and let them do the procedures. For weeks we went for walks closer to the medical building, then eventually inside the building, then eventually in to the medical room. That fixed that. Then taught him that it was only acceptable to shake adult̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s hands and if they don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t shake them back he didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have to be aggressive. I also used classical conditioning to redivert his aggressive behaviour to sticking up his thumb. Instead of hitting and getting angry he would simply stick his thumb up at people. That fixed that. I thought it was amusing that people with so many years experience could over look something that could be solved so simply. Another time someone was diagnosed with ADHD by 3 medical professionals but I wasn't convinced due to his behaviour patterns. Even though these people were socially a more credible source than I, I still begged for more opinions and further behaviour analysis. The patient that was diagnosed for several years with ADHD actually had Bipolar II disorder which is exactly what I had predicted with his behavioural patterns. Does this make me intelligent? No it does not. Human behaviour is my special area that I'm good at. By my post I hope you have learnt that it doesn't matter what your IQ suggests you're capable of. Your special talent could wow people who are socially considered more credible than yourself. Albert Einstein was called a slow learner, [developmentally delayed]ed and uneducable. He also had Bipolar disorder. Did you think that stopped him from proving everyone wrong? Those with unbelievable IQ's usually suffer from some type of mental health disorder. I find that amusing that it can go from one extreme to the other. If you're not smart enough you're [developmentally delayed]ed and being too smart can send you [developmentally delayed]ed, ironic? I'll repeat my first statement to end my post. Everyone has a special talent.
  6. Why can't it work the opposite way and change someones life? Why see the bad in everything if there can be a good. Perhaps someone made your life hell in high school but these bullies taught you the value of sticking up for yourself. Perhaps you were over weight and learnt the value of looking after yourself and self esteem. Perhaps you failed high school then went on to get a PhD and learnt that when people tell you things are impossible, you make your own decisions if they can be or not. Perhaps someone you loved died but it taught you the value of how precious life is and to make the most of every moment. Perhaps you failed an exam and then learnt a lesson that when you give up on things, they only go downhill. Perhaps if your mum or dad never told you they were proud of you once since you've been alive you can learn to appreciate all the achievement you've conquered on your own and realise nobody elses opinion counts but yours. Perhaps you got bashed and learnt the concept that at times its better to keep your mouth closed and opinions to yourself. Bad things happen, but without bad, there can be no good.
  7. I personally think this thread should be locked.
  8. Favourite: NONE Least favourite: ALL That's my personal opinion, hopefully no one gets offended.
  9. I laugh at threads like this. Finding out your IQ from myspace questionnaires don't count. Alfred Binet (1904) developed the first intelligence tests for the purpose of identifying [developmentally delayed]ed children. His scale assigned an individual child a mental age (MA), which refers to the average age at which children can be expected to achieve a particular score. Terman brought intelligence testing to North America, adapted the concept of the intelligence quotient (IQ) and expanded the meaning of the IQ from a predictor of intellectual ability. IQ = (MA/CA) x 100 (CA= Chronological age). The validity of IQ tests depends on the purpose, to which they are put, and they should always be supplements by other measures; reliability refers to a measure's ability to produce consistent results. Intelligence is probably best viewed as multifaceted, although we still do not know precisely what its facets are, how many 'general intelligences' humans really have or how to measure many of them. Indeed, some facets of intelligence, such as general problem-solving ability, may be universal, whereas others depend on cultural and historical developments. Perhaps intelligence is as much the match between a person and a time as a quality of a single individual. IQ reflects a complex interplay of nature and nurture. Such as, the Army Beta tried to circumvent the problem of language; the intelligence tests used early in the last century were linguistically and culturally biased toward native-born English speakers. David Wechsler attempted to minimise these biases by creating a new instrument, the Wechsler-Bellevue tests (Wechsler, 1939). Percentage of population in each IQ range in a frequency distribution of IQ scores, takes the shape of a bell-shaped curve (Anastasi & Urbina, 1997). Severely intellectually disabled = IQ under 55 (0.1% of the population) Mildly intellectually disabled = IQ between 55-70 (2.2%) Borderline intellectually disabled = IQ between 70-85 (13.6%) Average IQ score = IQ on the lesser side of average 85-100 (34.1%) Average IQ score = IQ on the greater side of average 100-114 (34.1%) Superior = IQ 115-130 (13.6%) Very superior to gifted = IQ 130-145 (2.2%) Greater than that = 0.1% According to psychologists IQ tests are neither valid nor invalid. IQ tests are some of the most valid, highly predictive tests they have ever devised, and they can be useful in targeting children on both ends of the bell curve who require special attention. Comparing members of markedly different cultures or subcultures can be problematic. There are so many other things to consider but I have made this post long enough and I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m sure you get the point. What is my IQ? As much as my ego is tempted I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t wish to disclose it. That comment in itself is egotistical enough :-# I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll let all the other people boast to one another how smart they are online.
  10. Living under parentals roof under the age of 18 with a health disorder̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ.. Does this not scream in clear conciseness to you "IM TRYING TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT FOR MY SON AND GIVE HIM A CHANCE AT THE BEST LIFE POSSIBLE"? Dear me. You're acting as if she opens his mouth for him and shoves them down his throat.
  11. If I was your mom I would've already clouted you behind the head and turned you in myself. I think you deserve whatever you get and if you really were best friends with someone you wouldn't give them something that isn't prescribed for them and can potentially damage them. Have some respect for yourself too, you can't just take yourself off medication prescribed to you like that without your doctors advice first. If the meds aren't working for you, talk to your doctor perhaps you've been diagnosed wrong (it happens quite often) and need other meds. Sometimes you need to try so many different things until you find out what's wrong and how to fix it the right way. The problem is teenagers on prescribed medication think that taking themselves off it is the right thing to do. Did you even bother to find out the side effects by suddenly stopping? You have to realise when you have a disorder everyone else that is close to you can see what you can't. You're 16 years old with a disorder NO YOU DONT KNOW WHATS BEST FOR YOU. I really hope you do get your [cabbage] together and grow up. As for every other teenager on this thread thinking it's funny and harsh of his mum and school, you all need a flip upside the back of the head too. My 2 cents worth. Build a bridge and get over it if you can't handle to hear the truth. I'm not nasty at all, I'm telling you how it is I don't sugar coat something that is dangerous to peoples health. On that note I hope you can learn from your mistake, get yourself some help, find out what's wrong, fix the situation and live a close to normal life.

Beautiful talent however I'm disappointed people who are out saving the lives of thousands of people don't get mentioned nearly enough in the media. You can send a message to the rest of the world without the CNN or spreading the word of God. People perform miracles everyday. Some become artists, some influence peoples lives in other ways. We are all unique and gifted, it's a shame we all can't fit in to CNN's schedule.

No idea who you are but hello
  14. I'm unsure what my stance is on the paranormal but I am still questioning things as I have had a lot of experiences that have led me to asking questions. Please keep in mind I'm perfectly sane :P I've woken up and felt something tapping my foot and there has been nothing there. I've felt something that felt like a warm hand touching my face when I've been reading a book and there's been nothing there. I've seen something myself in which I'm still questioning if it was real. My old house was made from wood, I had a dream that a ghost came out of a square in our lounge room and the next morning a square shape had been made, nobody in my family knows how it got there. I've been alone in the house with my bag zipped up and I heard my keys plonk on the bench. My keys were in my zipped up bag, my bag was still zipped up and my keys were now on the bench. I've been alone downstairs in my old house doing the laundry and heard running up the stairs (loud running footsteps) and no one has been home. When my friend passed away my computer restarted and signed into my msn with his photo in my display picture. I had not used it in there before or clicked the option to sign in msn automatically. I've walked into my room (no one else in the house) and my wardrobe doors have been wide open when I shut them just minuets before. I don't know what to make of it other than be open-minded about it. The question of why electron streams act differently when being observed also leaves me with an open-mind.
  15. witchetty grubs *insert puke emote*
  16. What does time look like? Look at your girlfriend, then look at your grandma.
  17. Me on a hangover morning. I win.
  18. Physical: I'm happy with my physical but maybe firm up a little bit more so if I fall pregnant anytime soon it will be easier to get it off. Mental: Ego - it needs one giant pin to burst it.
  19. I believe you're referring to nonverbal communication and emotion, in which psychologist Albert Mehrabian (1972) found that about 93% of the emotional meaning of messages are conveyed nonverbally. No visual cues were given and if any unconscious non verbals, none that 13 year olds could pick up. I have always been poker faced. You're correct; it most probably wouldn't do anything at all. My objective was to the theory in which most cases other than mine would be the causation. Fluke or no fluke, I was still freaked.
  20. Part of what I experienced was indeed a result of ideomotor effect, I agree with you. However, the part that has freaked me out is the fact that I had pulled a random name and random date from the top of my head, wrote it down, did not participate in the board, I just watched while OTHER people played the board and it spelt out letter for letter, number for number what I had written. The ideomotor effect couldn't have taken place if I was not involved with other peoples paranormal thoughts did not touch the board and did not influence anyone. Fluke? Maybe but that part wasn't anything to do with the ideomotor effect/automatism. Even if it is in the unconscious thought, I can't plant it in other peoples heads to move the piece to the message I wrote when I: 1. Did not touch the board 2. Noone had knowledge of what I had written. Also the effect is only a theory but a good one at that.
  21. No need, i'll invite you around for drinks :P
  22. Neither do I. I had an experience when I was 13 and wanted to test if it was real, everyone thought I was moving it and I wasn't. Everything I thought of, the glass moved there. So I did not touch it, a name and a date popped in to my head, I wrote it down, didn't show anyone folded it and sat on it, it spelt out the name and the date to the other girls. No one saw my paper but me and I was no longer touching the moving glass. That was enough to make me freak.
  23. Mmm in 3 of the 4 decks I have (one deck are angel cards so don't have cups) 2 of cups is peace of mind and the joining of 2 people. :D
  24. My partner and I have been discussing engagement, is marriage on the cards in the next few years? Btw tarot is fun, I have 4 decks of my own 8-)
  25. Just giving you the facts my dear.
