As I got my 3rd greater demon slayer task (almost in a row) I'm wondering if there is a way to evade those pesky wild dogs that roam the whole Brimhaven slayer dungeon. They really get on my nerves and still do me (some minor) damage. I use this dungeon because I hate the wilderness, and caged greaters in the ogre enclave would cause me to miss gp drops. I really like slaying greaters, yesterday I got addy legs and 4 rune full helmets in 1 trip! Along with some nice amouns of gp! Is there another location with greaters that I missed, or do I just have to run my hiney off and side step until they become unagressive (mostly, I've used like half of my tuna and sweetcorn potatoes....) which takes forever. Yesterday, all of a sudden they became agressive again being un-agressive for a while! :ohnoes:

You can also buy them from the culinaromancer's chest in the Lumbridge castle basement if you started "Recipy for Disaster" quest and the chest becomes available for you.

I use this method fairly often to raise crafting. For me, it doesn't involve changing worlds. Because every time I visit Varrock (or Yanille, for that matter), for example when doing clue scrolls, I buy all the battle staves in stock. It adds up, and after some time, I make orbs and craft them. Sure, for power levelling it isn't great, but if you want to train crafting along other stats, this is a nice method. It makes some gp too!

Area Sounds: IDC, I never have music/sounds on Emote Screen: 8/10, names of emotes would have been nice Orange Text on stats page: 0/10 I hate it: it's not clearer, it's worse! New Equipment Page: 8/10 like it Run Button: 5/10 Takes some getting used to Lumbridge Bank: 4/10 I allready had culinaromancer's chest Compass 3/10 Liked the old one better Rune Boots: never had them, don't affect ne Free Lumbridge teleport: 9/10 Great! could have been a bit faster.

Pineapple FTW!!!! Also, they drop the "rare" log used in construction. If you go to the sout-east area (close to the tow, but outside of it) there are 2/3 spawning close to each other. There you can take them out fairly quickly, especially on a busy server.

No it's not: plant seeds, do whatever you want to do for the time your crops grow, return, harvest, repeat! There is an excellent guide on new membership this on tip.it!

How the money inflow affects prices or not
transcript80 replied to rncd147's topic in General Discussion
Economy is about supply and demand. Example: whip/barrows/obsidian stuff: This goed down because more people are able to get them (more players are slayer85+, the rest: the longer an item is in-game, the more copies there are going to be, since it is a fixed "chance" rate) thus more supply. Demand stays about equal-> prices drop. Also, when someone is eager to sell an item becaus he/she needs money (for levelling construction for example), he/she will accept a lower price because the seller wants to get rid of it FAST. Furthermore, more GP/player in-game means (as stated above) that people have more gp to spend, and thus are willing to pay MORE for an item, especially if they want it FAST. The 2 reasons above are the main source in the existence of merchanters. Also, when something new is introduced in the game, it is rare (not much time to drop for a %) and thus expensive. If you compare the high-alchemy value of a whip (or worse, party-hat!) with its in-game value, you'll be stunned! The the whip is STILL over-price (dropped to about 2M now, if I'm correct), not to mention the party hat. Just a nut shell...... -
There's no need to do that if you are just levelling. The xp comes per construction item used (i.e. plank, brick etc.) and is fixed. An oak book case give the same xp per plank as an oak larder. Oak planks give the best xp/money, being 60xp for 250gp (provinding your own oak logs, I assume). Mahogany is faster, and more expensive (90xp/500gp). If you want cheap xp, go oak! Else, mahogany + butler is the way to go, but it's gonna cost-ya! +1! Yet.... I can use tears of Guthix!!!! YAY!

I wouldn't call you a liar of course, it's not polite  ... But I couldn't mine iron before level 15... Maybe you had certain advantages over me? I don't like the concept of powermining: your only "profit" is xp. I like something in return for my effort (except xp) so I would say mine iron. If you don't mind smelting/smithing, you can sell them for approximately 100ea, which is still a nice pay-off for levelling a skill. *Hearsay* If you insist on powermining, granite is best.

Lowest Combat Level That Has Completed All The Quests?
transcript80 replied to dan2012's topic in General Discussion
*points to sig* Yes, haunted mine was a royal pain in the****. Yes, devious minds is a pain (lvl 63 smithing + mature dwarven stout FTW!) as for lvl requirements. Combat, as stated, is not all you need for quests to start/complete. The lvl 70 cooking for RFD was quite hefty for me (I fish/cook everything myself) and so was the 57 herblore for fairy tale ptII and lvl 63 smithing for devious minds. Not to mention lvl50-ish agilyty ( ) for underground pass. MEII...ah well, it just takes forever. -
That is illegal! For training combat (any type) I always recommend slayer, as it gives variation in monster to battle, and sometimes EXCELLENT ranging/maging opportunities. If you don't care for drops, do pest control (Affliction if you can) to level up fast.

If I remeber correctly, using chaos gauntlets (from "family crest" quest) gives even better XP for chaos spells, because they can hit higher with them as 12 (as stated in the magic guide). I'm not sure how much better, though. Using bolt spells also prevents your finger falling off from clicking. Somewhere in my mind is a rumour that there's a staff that can autocast crumble undead, but I'm not sure...

You can do it in your POH. You require a bedroom and a wardrobe I think.

So what's your favorite way of making money?
transcript80 replied to TimeStopper's topic in General Discussion
Slayer, as in killing monster -> drops. And the occasional clue scroll. I don't play to make money, and I'm good at it.... -
You don't need to start/finish hero's quest to be able to use it. You only need access to the hero's guild if you want to recharge them. But there's people here on tip.it who can do it for you (if you ask them nicely... gp Pl0x!11! lol)
-
and what is that supposed to mean? I like following guides! (and Guthix) :P
-
yes there is! Ther is a sign just noth of the cooking pot where you have to clean the bones before you give them top the guy. There is an updated wish-list there. It's not very big, but it's there! Give it a click and see wether you still need to kill that wretched rat!

Do the "Horror from the deep" quest. As a reward, you'll be able to pick book of your choice. When you completed the book (all 4 pages required) I think you can go back to the lighthouse to get another kind for 5000 gp. Complete that one, and you can get the last one. There is no specific order of getting the books, that's up to you.

I think it depends on your budget. If you have cash to spend, buy (fruit)tree seeds, because they give loads of XP so you'll be able to level fast. Another good method is farming herbs, especially ranarr and up. If you but ranarr seeds for 20-25k ea, sell ranarrs for 6.5-7kea, you make a profit when you gte 4+ ranarrs per seed. Since I'm on a budget, I farm as I go. Meaning that I plant the highest seed I have (alotment) when Im near a patch. Even if I have no high level seeds, I plant potatoes + normal compost+ paying farmer to get some potatoes, as I make them into seetcorn+tuna potatoes. Everytime I come across a farming patch, I plant the highest seeds available. It's not super fast, but cheap and you end up with quite some nice stuff. Furthermore, there's a couple of quests that give you farming xp. Here is a list of them. Good luck!
-
I think you can't, sorry. Good luck on your seercull.

What's the Best Way to Get Fast Free Construction Experience
transcript80 replied to elmo_killer6's topic in Help and Advice
there is a plank respawn in the wildy. I think limestone is better xp then clay, and u get craftinh xp as well. As mentioned, tears of Guthix FTW, get other skills up to make con your lowest. Since this skill was supposed to be a money drainer, your options are limited. -
how about dagganoths? Under the lighthouse, it's multi, they are agressive and there are lots of them... I think you need a decent def or prayer, though...

Money problems~I like it too much to spend it!!!!
transcript80 replied to asmir1's topic in Help and Advice
construction is THE money drain in the game. Spend it on construction, you'll blow it in NO time....
